I really love the special edition hardcovers!

Sure seems like Pathfinder 2e is getting much more love than Starfinder lately.

I noticed with the implementation of the ACP for Starfinder my table count dropped by 10 or so. It looks like some of my repeated GM tables don’t give GM credit and some of my GM’d APs give only 1 table credit.

Anyway before I report this I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue?

Hey All!

Last summer we started an actual play podcast for the Dawn of Flame Starfinder Adventure Path from Paizo. We post weekly episodes as well as some additional interviews and such as bonus episodes. Our crew of 5 players includes two folks from Paizo, Scott Keim and Ron Lundeen, and we have been playing together now for almost 2 years (we played through Dead Suns before).

You can find our podcasts at IntrepidHeroes.Net and on Podcast & Radio Addict, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iTunes, Spotify, and other places. We are up to 16 regular episodes and 5 bonus interview so far.

I am currently playing in two APs, GMing one AP, and regularly play and GM Society scenarios. I love the depth and scale of the stories in the APs. Even though different authors write each book, they still form a coherent story line and this is reflected in greater development, interaction, and coordination of the player parties. While the folks I GM and play scenarios with are frequently the same, the lack of continuity between subsequent scenarios often leaves me wishing for more of an AP-like experience.

Now we do see repeat NPCs and extended story lines, but it generally doesn't feel all that connected. Maybe the nature of society play prevents this sort of connectivity. Maybe the relative newness of the game and quick consumption of scenarios prevents stringing together related ones. I don't have a great answer, but this is something that I have been thinking about lately - normally as I switch between AP characters in campaign mode and my society characters in scenarios. Anyone else feel like this?

Anyway, I think it would be cool say if a 1-4 and 3-6 or a 3-6 and 5-8 were released in the same month, and the first scenario story was continued in the second one. Or maybe if the 3-6s being released in 2 or 3 subsequent months all tied to one story line and the 1-4s all tied to another. This sort of thing would require quite a bit of coordination amongst the developers, but I think it lead to more satisfying society play. Kind of like how comic book stories continue between sequential issues. As it is, I have two characters leveling out of society play (for now) and it's as if I really don't know them anymore since I am constantly switching back and forth between various characters for various scenarios. In contrast I feel so much more connected with my AP characters and the parties I play/GM with.

Thoughts?

I see these referenced in the Player Guide and see Pathfinder GM Star Chronicles for download, but nothing for Starfinder. Do these exist yet.

I am currently playing a Wednesday night home campaign and really want to get into Starfinder Society play to level up some characters before Paizocon in May. Zulu's has a table open on Monday's for SFS if we can get enough interest. I will be posting on NWPFS.org once we get regularly going, but if you are interested please drop me a line at michgoblue@gmail.com I have several people expressing interest, but I think folks are waiting and seeing if a core forms.

About me: I started playing D&D back when it first started, also played Traveller, Gamma World, GURPs, Champions, and assorted other RPGs. I was a DM under 3.5 rules for 10+ years and designed tons of NPCs, creatures, and campaign scenarios. I barely played any Pathfinder, but have loved Starfinder since my group started shortly after GENCON. I am happy to GM or run a PC depending on what our group needs. I have all the Starfinder GM accessories and SFS Scenarios to date so we can start with 1-00 or hop around depending how things go. Email michgoblue@gmail.com with any questions.
