Sorry folks I have been having a myriad of access issues, I apologize for the spotty posting. Sorry to see you go Hack but I understand. YEah I agree, rough to play with three, so how do we want to handle this now?

Sorry folks, I was kicked from the internet for a couple days... Jiang grunts, You will have light, as I require it as well. Jiang continues to stay at the back end of the group and pulls a torch from his own bag and lights the new one before tossing the flickering one into a corner.
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Jiang follows the others after a moment, working his way through the pit and across tho the stairs. Hearing the chanting grow the monk merely frowns but follows the strangers deeper into the bowels of this odd place...

Nah, GM had it on the map generating light. Otherwise I was thinking it was the same. -Posted with Wayfinder

I can see because the torch isn't extinguished so its casting light from the corner it was thrown from. He doesn't know what is coming but knows that Illufaus is worried about it (hence the distinction between my vague comment in character versus my more precise notion out of character...)
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Sorry, family issue kept me off the boards yesterday. Jiang frezes in place at the sudden flurry of activity around the torch and the pit and then the sudden issue of a threat. Not really seeing what Illufaus has done the monk moves to pick up the torch and hisses a reponse in a low voice, Hack should return to us. Perdita Imogen should hide in her hole. Illufaus means to run but perhaps if we must engage, we harry them as the wasp or the falcon does... MEchanics:
I'm not sure in one "round" how much I can do as far as moving, grabbing the torch, and coming back. I assume technically my movement ends and I am standing where the torch is. Hack should actually be able to see all be it very poorly but he should be able to make our rough shapes and what not and know which way to go back to? f he can run to us then great but I'm thinking we draw the ghouls close enough to see us, then hurt them at range. Withdraw, shoot. Withdraw shoot, etc. If there is enough real estate we could winnow them down at range?

Jiang nods at Illufaus and gestures with the torch for the elf to lead on... OOC: Eventually Jiang will want a cut but considering the circumstances he isn't quite in the place to call "dibs" on anything or for a share or whatever but as a player I certainly want goodies, lol
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Jiang hesitates. His masters had talked of those who attained the power of life and death and those who could pierce the veil and reach through it with words, and if they were strong enough, with material effect...but still to so cavalierly return... Interesting. His tone makes it clear he finds it less "interesting" and more a "problem". You will forgive me if I remain on guard around you but if, as you say, there are such perils I would rather work with the dead that are reasonable than the undead that are not... PS: I find this exchange hilarious.
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Jiang absorbs the words of Perdita and frowns, I have lived in Waterdeep for some time...it was from there I was taken. Moving after the warlock the monk looks about intently, What is the nature of this place? A barracks of some sort? Are we underground?
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Jiang snatches the torch from the air deftly and uses the new light to consider the strangers before him. They all appeared well worn and bloodied and this place did not strike him as habitable, even for ne'er do wells like bandits or kidnappers. Narrowing his eyes the monk nods slowly, I will follow you if you are also hoping to leave this place... Illufaus: Seems like a deal to me, I would need to carry one whether it was great for me or not anyway, lol.
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
The monk tilts his head and sighs loudly, So this was a crime of circumstance? You took a stranger from the street and now wish to know what I am worth? The man offers a bitter laugh, Precious little. You would do best to let me leave... Jiang takes a moment to survey his person. He is still armed, still has his gear. Is sitting on a chair. Who kidnaps someone then puts them at a table in the dark like this?
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Jiang tenses at the sudden transition. The monk tilts his head at the voice and does his best to get a sense of where the voice is relative to him, I should ask you. Where am I and why have I been spirited away without my consent?
Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15
Ha ha did I say cleric? I meant monk. I never got to play with him much and I think he will feel more satisfying for me to play...if he lives long enough he will use a FR school of the Sun Souls to add some fun ranges options to the mix. Let me know if this works.

I agree. Tybalt sees Juliet dead grabbing the semi dead monk doesn't seem high on his priority list, lol. PA are you going to make something new? I have an idea for a cleric, a druid and a wizard but I don;t want to step on toes if any of those are something you were looking at...

For my part I think the "swingyness" of 5e harkens back to the days of "yore" where sometimes s$@* did not go well. The older system tended to disabuse players of their "special snowflake" status....not that I dislike being relevant and keeping my characters alive, mind you, just that it wasn't as much of a part of the structure of the game IMO. I tend to take character death well if it is justly earned and it totally was in this case. A bit brutal and unfortunate, but justly earned ;p For me Jiang living after what he just did to that thug seems out of sync. Roakkard retreats (which he should if he values his life) then that thug stabs Jiang in the gut a few times. There is nothing about him as presented that would make me think otherwise unless Jiang wakes up suspended from a rafter being tortured or something, lol. Like I said upthread, that fortuneteller finds a few more folks who were wronged. There has to be more than just one parties worth and having two newbies join in with a couple of folks (or one if Tybalt exists stage left) just adds serious flavor as far as I am concerned. I like the flow, we seem to be players that all sync up pretty well and post so I'm for continuing. I can eep playing Jiang or move on to something else. I used to play clerics all the time, I would have no problem picking it up again. ;p

Long are the lists of those who would seek revenge against these men and those who guide them. Anyone who survives will just help nurse the next set of grudge holders to their confrontation with injustice...no lie, I'l play a wizard. The campaign endures, this is old fashioned D&D ;)

So the provision around no off hand bonus is specific to TWF but the monk section seems to refer to it specifically as another attack, simply unarmed and contingent on using unarmed/monk weapon. Given that they stripped the extra attacks from monk post playtest it seems on par to Ranger to keep the ability damage but YMMV. My 2 cp

If you want to post HP/AC in a spoiler (like you want it in thread for reference), that might be the best of both worlds as far as keeping it out of sight but having it around, otherwise I would prefer it not around. As for my flury stuff I will post more thoughts in the discussion Jiang winces at the blow and frowns, [i]Too many years, I'm slower, older...[/ooc] Shaking away his idle thinking the monk flourishes his sword and engages again, following the swing with a back handed palm... Sword!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Jiang springs from the other side of the landing to the nearest of the group, swinging his sword out to the side then in at his foe... Attack (Adv): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Continuing his assault Jiang uses his training to lash out with an errant kick as he spins the sword through the air. Not sure if my bonus attack has advantage to so whichever roll makes sense here... Attack (Adv): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Well I will wait for something to happen to Juliet but assuming that something will in fact occur, Jiang will jump up when the moment calls for it... Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Phhph or he will just jump in place...

As Tybalt whispers quietly before departing the monk merely raises an eyebrow in response to the rogue's turn of phrase. At Tybalt's return the monk merely stands and listens to the elf and frowns. Looking intently at the rogue the older Tian man blinks and then runs his tongue under his bottom lip clearly (and poorly) trying to contain his irritation as he speaks, You cannot refer to men as birds and then mention birds which I think are birds. And as for children how do you say we deal with one "quietly" other than murder since I would guess none us are interested in doing that? Jiang offers a quick look to the others but does not stop to really see if anyone indicates they would. Crossing his arms the monk continues to frown, If they are keeping birds then they are used to people and will probably make no more or less noise than normal. Unless they are those idiot creatures from the Mwangi Expanse that take to talking like people do. But those are birds. The monk offers a sort of exasperated throwing of his hands in the air to emphasize his point. Just playing a low CHA person, not really trolling to be clear, lol

As the group approaches Jiang stops in the dim lights and shadows of the approach looking ahead as Tybalt moves to disappear, Is this Padrick a man worth talking to? If his heart is good and it is merely that he is being bullied perhaps we can appeal to that goodness and he will direct us to the source of his trouble...and what we want to know.

1. I'm doing good. I am playing a quiet/reserved character although I could include more interior dialogue to beef up my posts, otherwise that is the only reason I am not posting -more- but I am enjoying the group/dynamic and the frequency is good. 2. I am with PA a far as wondering why Aeshuura isn't playing in so much that 5 vs 4 doesn't seem too disruptive from my experiences and almost preferable in PbP because its another poster keeping the thread moving. YMMV

As the seer speaks of the bond between her and her deck the monk nods in the barest fashion understanding such energy concepts well. Jiang sits otherwise mutely until there is conversation of leaving to investigate, "I am ready." -Posted with Wayfinder
