Really, give James a break, people. It's not as if we paid for the conversion - it's a freebie from the good folks at Paizo. We're lucky to get it at all. It'll come when it comes, and just be glad when it does. I really don't understand what all the whining is about.
Who's whining?

The only people i see whining are the people who seem to can't wait to jump all over anyone that asks a question about when conversion material will come out in a FR Conversion download thread.

When i bought the magazine it stated in the magazine that conversion material would be added on the site. SO given that info i bought the magazine. I expect it to be added at some point. Asking when this will happen is not "rude" or "obnoxious" so YOU GUYS chill out. Now if someone starts posting every week you may have a leg to stand on but i didnt see that (in this thread anyway) Having conversion material (to some customers) is very imporant. Making inquries about it (which were not done in a rude manor either; in this thread) should not result in getting chastised or reprimanded.

Its thier perogative to ask the question. So i don't agree with the overly enthusatical people on this board who fall over themselves to admonish anyone who asks questions or voices their opinion about having FR material posted, who then immediately praises paizo staff while reminding everyone how lucky they are that this is even being considered/done. That is getting annoying as hell. As much as people who constantly ask where the material is.

Alright,

My group had a debate last night as a couple memebers of the party contracted savage fever. Maybe this is a general "rules" question, so if somoene could help us out we would appreciate it. (We play 3.5)

Savage fever is a supernatural disease. So,
1)can this be treated with the heal skill like a nomral disease? IS there a difference between supernatural disease and a conventioanl disease? If so what is it?

2)Does remove disease spell remove it? (As the template*Aflicted* calls for a greater restoration...but if the remove disease is used, prior to the PC losing all thier INT, would this work? This comes back to the nomral disease vs supernatural disease)

So whatever. Be a firm believer all you want, but please respect my desire to run the adventure I paid for without waiting for months to do so.

A bit defensive n'est pas? Why not respect his right to be shocked and have firm beliefs? 4th ed. isn't coming for a while so don't stress out about it. Even if 4th ed came out tomorrow - you'd still probably run the campaign as 3.5... Mostly because the adventures have been written as such and changing systems in the middle of an AP would be bad editing. Paizo doesn't have bad editors - ergo you have nothing to worry about.

Now can we all take a big breath? James gave us the basics that you people have been asking for - Smile it's more than you had 3 hours ago ;o)

-Regadless of the time, i appreciate the information for the FR city being posted prior to having to find out via pdf. It was the only really thing holding up my game. Since that was two sessions ago, i had to choose a different place : ( oh well, thanks for the gesture though. Its appreciated.

P.S. WHAT *I* find funny is no one can have an opinon anymore if it slightly anit-politically correct. I choose to respect NONE of your opinions to be shocked, or have firm beliefs. Or wanting to run an AP before, during, or after it comes out. LOL!!! j/k...maybe...

Maybe they're compinsating for the fact that there was so little gold/items in AOW.

Haven't had trouble with them trying to buy much aside from healing potions from the churches in my game. However, the party bard took the wand of ray of enfeeblement (29 charges) after they took down Nemien Roblach at the Taxidermist Guildhall, and totally used it to maximum effecienty the rest of the session. They DEF nuetered the Rhagodessa and Gut tugger with it. I think they must have used 20+ charges out of it in one session. It was crazy! I thought they were going to be in troble and they just started rolling over everyone

good point; i changed Sasserine out for Port Nyranzaru in my groups FR STAP. I think the isle of dread will be directly WEST of the port city. On the FR map i have, there is a lonely island directly West of the port city, and South-West of Lantan called "Mother-of-Mists". Works for me...

IMHO it can be only in Chult.

Tethyr, Baldur's Gate, or even the Moonsea are out of question if Sasserine's most important source of income is supposed to be spices. It has to be in the south.

Besides there are supposed to be some dinosaurs in following adventures on the isle of dread. Dinosaurs are native to Chult, I don't know any other region of the realms where dinosaurs live.

The Isle of Dread could be placed somehwere to the west/ north/ south of Chult depending on its relative climate and accessibility for other influences (you already mentioned pirates and some empires which influenced the isle's past history).

The closeness to Halruah and (to some less degree) to Calimshan could come in handily.

Greetings,
Günther

Stated it elsewhere too, but quick repetition.

Sasserine, or other city used.. at amn, possibly tethyr.
Nelanther does a good service of being a pirate hq of sorts.

Dread isle itself placed at the third pont in a perfect triangle: chult, zakhara, and the isle.

There is an island called "Mother of mist" on my FR map, but i can't seem to find out any info in the FRCS on it?... im going to pick that as i set the group (sasserine) at Port Nyranzaru

Muchos gracias senores! :)

Yes, thank you! Some people in my group read me the riot act last sat about this. lol.

Maybe i missed it, but normally when i run "huge campaign" mods there are blurbs at the end of each chapter stating something like "pcs should be x level". I didnt see that at the end of "there is no honor". In future issues, is there going to be a notation on where the pcs should be on average?

Human Fighter (Has the Snake Plisskan renokwn due to the backstory he has written for his character. "I have heard of you. I heard you were dead".)

Aventi Cleric (Very outgoing for his race, but exhibits hints of charles bronson...)

Half Giant Psi Warrior (Pretty funny, has a 8 int. "Wait? Was that an insult to me? (answer: No, it was the truth) "Oh, ok then".

Aasimar Bard (quirky personality; "Do you want to see my cat Gracie Sassypants? Well, you can't. He is back at the Inn eating Tuna."

strange party! LOL

Personally, I'm kinda surprised to see Paizo stickin' with GH as it would seem FR is what sells. Not complaining, though, GH has always been my setting of choice.

actually - in our store for every one FR book we sell, we sell at least 6 dungeons, and 4 dragons.... And I hear more GH love when I am woring there then ever since AOW started (SCAP was hobbled by the fact that diamond distributers screwed up on the order 2 months in a row so people had to start @ adventure 3 in our area) [/QUOTE

Ya know, I once spoke to a store owner and he told me the same thing. He also said the dark covered rulebooks sell way better than the light, greyish color of the FR hardcovers. I'm not sure how much color has to do with it, just an interesting marketing tidbit.

Having a friend who is the manager of the most succesful gaming store in my town said the exact opposite. The FR material sells more than any other "world setting", and they are hounded when the new FR books are coming out more than any other dnd product. (Not that *I* think that means anything be it realms or GH setting as far as making a point; but just to play devils advocate, there it is...)

As far as an AP in FR or Ebberon, well i think it would be great! I don't care for GH, but i have nothing agasint it or its fans. I think it would be a great idea to have a AP for the FR fans, even if its just a one shot. Same for Ebberon. I may even buy an Eberon book or two if a AP was set in Ebberon and try it out. It would def give everyone in my group *Reason* to try it out! I mean if they were going to play an entire campaign in the world, they would prob all get into it. I dont care for the reason this won't be done... "its too hard to translate the mateerial for another world that we are not as comfortable in as GH" (not exact words, but that was it in a nutshell) That is a bit lazy and unfair to other fans. IMO. No offense intended. But its a little insulting that since everyone at Paizo digs GH more than any other setting the best FR and Eb fans will EVER get is conversion notes. Not cool.

The Kraken Society's a great stand-in for the Crimson Fleet. Does the Kraken Society operate in the tropics, though?

In any event, we should be getting in Eric Boyd's conversion notes for the first adventure on Monday, at which point we'll try to get them up online ASAP.

Let's just say that in my campaign they may be expanding their horizons }:0)

I thought the Kraken society operated out of Luskan. But that is a great idea regarding expansion! I think they will also be moving thier operations south in my game... heh

-Good to hear about the conversion, : )

Where is Port Nyranzaru? I cant see it on the map!
Its on the Chult Penisula. Find Lantan, and then go directly South East, and you will run right into it. Its on the North Western part of Chult, just south of Fort Beluarian
Can’t see it; what map are you using? Is it near ‘The Mist Cliff’ area? Is the area detailed in Shining South at all?

still having problem find Calimport, and go directly east until you hit Chult and its right there.

Yes! : ) Its near the mistcliffs, if you found the mistcliffs go East (you have to, lol. West is ocean) There are two rivers, Soshenstar and next to that is River Tiryki. If you follow the river Tiryki to were it dumps into the ocean, Port Nyranzaru is right there.

Im using the big faerun map from the core book (it has the North South East West compass in the bottom left corner with a picture of a ship in it)

I’m not really looking to use an existing realms city as a substitute for Sasserine; I’m hoping to add Sasserine to my Forgotten Realms. In a way, my realms have become/becoming a strange G'hawk/F'realms hybrid since these damn addictive adventure paths appeared!

As for Westgate, it already filled the role of the ‘free city’ in our Age of Worms campaign so we wont be going anywhere near that old place for sometime.

Baldur’s Gate seems like a good sub, very intriguing and worth considering (yes veeeery spicy!) if I cant ever get Sasserine to fit but I’d ideally like to use Sasserine fully-formed-and-ready-on-a-platter for my players and their soon-to-be-players-guide-constructed PC’s.

I hope the guide can fit well with the FR.

I had the same problem last night, as my game starts today, and nothing on the conversion content yet : ( well i guess i won't really need it now as the location of Sasserine is all i was really holding the game up for. After reading through the FR core book, i decided to place (Sasserine) with Port Nyranzaru. The description in the book for Port Nyranzaru is pretty short, basically saying it was built for defense, and is big on trade.

Its the last port city on the entire west side of Chult (which complies with what i heard about the GH version city) and looking at the FR Map its in a "cove" and connects to rivers/cannals, but is right there on the open ocean. To the south is the "chult jungle" which also makes sense when it talks about Sasserine saying most reach it by boat Vs. overland travel. And it appears to be a very defensible port.

So i took the Sasserine map out said there is Port Nyranzaru, and will use the material out of Dungeon for the city (basically changed the name) as i think it fits best as far as placement, and conformity.

Any chance you could give us the city STAP starts out in for (realms)?

Between Chult and Zakhara.. closer to Zakhara but more than anything, westwards.

Looking at the map fo Sasserine, there is a lot of frest showing "below" the city so im thinking Mezro or Ishau?

I got mine today as well. There was a blurb in the magazine to watch paizo.com for the conversion for FR. Anyone know when that will be added?

Im in Alaska, and we usually get them on the last day of the month (give or take a day before/after) but nothing yet... hopefully tomorrow..........
