This scenario was really fun, and not completely straight-forward, which I liked. The combats were surprising enough, and not overpowered, and the puzzle felt like you were really trying to figure things out as you went through an archeological dig.
Puzzle Thoughts:
The solution for the puzzle itself was frustrating for our group, even though we had all of the correct translations, we were discussing things such as rock hardness, comparative weights, color gradient variation, and so on. This led to us being off on complete red herrings, but it was fun because we had to think.
All in all, this was a really fun trip for creative thinkers and overthinkers, and I would love to see more like it.
I will 100% agree with other reviewers that this scenario is hard, it is actually the first TPK I have gmed in PF2. However, I think that it is challenging in good ways. It pushes the norm away from "you will succeed at everything" and actually poses a challenge. Also, if presented correctly, there are skills in the skill challenge that are setup (DCs included) to give everyone a chance, the GM just has to ensure to present them.
