Male Shoanti Human Oracle of Lore 1
![]() Longest minute of my life. Almost surprised we're still doing anything. Istakkos sees the Goblins over near the fuel fire, and heads over there. However, instead of heading directly to them, he decides to go to higher ground so he can take advantage of it. He moves quickly over to the stage and heads up the stairs. Double move to M16 ![]()

![]() As the DM, Kyle probably has enough on his plate to handle Ars - best if you kept track of your own resources (not to sound like an arse by saying that). Its hard to keep track of every players' resources when you also have to keep track of NPCs, monsters, the storyline, etc. Plus, we should be responsible enough to do this on our own - if he didn't trust us to keep track of bullets/grit, then he'd probably shoulder it himself. I don't think he doesn't trust us :P ![]()
Male Shoanti Human Oracle of Lore 1
![]() Hmmph. Well, that was easy enough. Goblins, when attacked by their own kind, are quick to fight amongst themselves - a single, simple spell sufficed. Istakkos decides to sit and watch the carnage ensue after his spell - he pulls out his spear and readies it in case any of the fighting spills over near him.

![]() That same person desperately wanted to sneak attack someone with a cannon, too, but never got around to doing it. He'll have a better chance in my Skulls and Shackles campaign, though. I also mentioned in my campaign (this was a previous homebrewed one with the sneak attack boat), that I had planned on introducing tanks (driven by magic-hating gnomes) eventually.. he really wanted to sneak up to someone and sneak attack them with that too. My group comes up with the most random of things sometimes. Like the time the fighter ran out onto the ship's deck wearing -nothing- and beat some sahuagin to death with his fists. Ass-naked. Good thing he took Improved Unarmed Strike.. then there's the dwarf. In both campaigns (he brought back his char to the skulls and shackle one), we have had a Male Dwarf Witch who uses the hex that allows his beard to be 10 ft long, use his intelligence as the beard's strength, and who has a bucket filled with seawater on his back where he keeps his octopus familiar. He also heavily uses the cackle hex, and is often seen (er, heard), in the background, cackling, to allow the party members to have Fortune for an extended period of time. In the S&S campaign, he also has a peg leg. Back in my homebrew campaign around the level 5 or 6, the dwarf, who had the Flight Hex, was up in the air, flying, then decided to use a spell that allowed him to grapple someone with his beard. He grabbed the guy, flew 100-feet up in the air while singing "I can show you the world" and then dropped the guy to his death. Best. Character. Ever. ![]()

![]() Probably not much, like 1d2 or 1d3 at best. Probably nonlethal at that, unless it has a particularly large piece of bone. Maybe one point of fire damage if its really hot, too. Thats to the person throwing it and the person getting hit by it. :3 Its also an improvised weapon, so -4 on your attack (unless you have Throw Anything or Catch Off Guard, at least) and it only would crit on a natural 20 with a multiplier of x2. Thats what I'd rule if it came up in one of my games, at least. Kyle may say otherwise. I had someone use a boat as a weapon once.. they dropped a rowboat on someone's head. Because the person wasn't expecting it, and the person dropping it was a rogue, I even allowed it to be a sneak attack. XD ![]()

![]() Having stood up once he heard the priest try and get everyone's attention, Istakkos did not hear the goblins approaching until he had heard one goblin in particular scream like a maniac and attack its own. Hrrm.. goblins? The little pests.. I had heard they were common in these parts. But for them to attack such a large town? They must be suicidal. At least they're already fighting amongst themselves. Makes my job easier. Best I get started on eradicating them, to give the guard a hand. They seem to be busy elsewhere. Istakkos moves closer to the goblins, then points at one of the three goblins and utters a word of incantation, putting the mental image of the goblin's ally in its mind - and the urge to kill that ally at all costs with its small sword. ____________________________________- Starting Location: O4

![]() Not a problem lol. Though if I may make a recommendation, the coordinate system (A1, B2, etc) would help a ton for allowing people to choose where they wish to go. Wouldn't take much effort to get it set up, either. With it there, there would be far less confusion about where someone wishes to move. For example: Starting Position: D16
Its how my other group is doing it, and so far its worked wonders for keeping everyone organized. Even if I almost died in the first combat session. XD ![]()

![]() Any chance we could get a map of the battlefield? Something like Battle Map, for example, with a coordinate'd grid system telling us where each of us are. :D ![]()

![]() While I don't want him to be booted from the campaign or anythin', we haven't heard heads or tails from Raor since Saturday. Perhaps, since he's sick/busy, we can bring his character in whenever he can get back on to post, and continue with the story while we wait? I mean we're fighting goblins right now, it would make sense that he'd join up later after the attack anyways. (Perhaps he's captured by the town guard and we 'recruit' him) I'm not trying to be impatient or anything, but I was hoping we could get moving along a wee bit faster than we are lol. Raor can join in when he's able to. I don't think he's going to miss much anyways. Whatcha think Kyle? ![]()

![]() I'm fine with you rolling behind the screen. Just don't forget to take into account proper stuff when rolling for us when it comes to perception and stuff. And also, if you want to roll for my guy whenever a spell is cast (I will -always- be making a spellcraft check if I see someone cast something), thats fine too. Or, I can do it myself, up to ye. The only thing I'd have to be against rolling behind the scenes for is if you're going to fudge the dice in our favor. Don't fudge it in our favor. I like a challenge, and if I get an unlucky crit that kills me, then so be it! lol ![]()

![]() Istakkos gives a small bow to Ameiko as she walks away, then sits down to eat his meal, looking around at the crowd as he does. Volcanized pig, eh? Not bad..
Btw Kyle, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm all for moving the story along now :P Just letting ye know I be good to go. ![]()

![]() Hey just a quick question Kyle - if one of our characters ever dies, how are you going to go about with a replacement? Do we have to sit out until other players die, or can we find a way to bring in a new character? Mainly asking because in another campaign I'm playing in, we have 8 players and if you die, you die. You have to sit out until the group runs lower than 4 players. I doubt thats going to be the case in this one, but I be curious none-the-less. I'm luckily not the kind of guy who gets sad/angry over a lost character. All it means is a new chance for a new interesting character. I've lots of ideas hehe. ![]()

![]() "Hm.. well, I am certainly hungry from travelling. I'll try some of your boar, if you would. As for drinks, I'll take whatever you have, I'm not picky. In fact, I'm still quite amazed at the selection of foods and drink being offered - let alone being offered for free to strangers." Istakkos makes a small bow with his head in thanks for her generosity. ![]()

![]() Why not glamered armor? You can make it look like anyyythin' ye want! My guy is sticking with his Silken Ceremonial Armor pretty much. He'll even be wearing it when he uses Mage Armor (eventually), even if they don't stack. Now his shield he'll be getting rid of sooner rather than later. He'll have a spell for that, eventually. ![]()

![]() Istakkos smiles at the Tian woman in recognition of her kindness and says, "I am well versed in the Taldan tongue, Miss Ameiko, although it is less comfortable to use than my own native language. My name is Istakkos, member of the Skoan-Quah." He pauses a moment, then mentions the looks hes been given, "There is nothing to forgive. My peoples' native garb is unusual in this area - and I was not expecting to necessarily blend in." He smiles again, being quite alright with the looks he's being given. He looks obviously proud of his people and his culture, and makes no effort to hide it. "Now, what was this you mentioned about meals based on Shoanti culture? I'd very much like to try these.. they sound like they'd be a good start to learning the cuisine of the area." ![]()
Male Shoanti Human Oracle of Lore 1
![]() An interesting day to arrive in this town indeed. The tshameks are having a festival to honor their gods. I believe luck has smiled upon me to be able to witness such an occasion. It will be good to help me learn more about the tshameks I will be living amongst as I study the dark myths of the old kingdom. I have heard that there are some here who know quite a bit about what I seek. I will have to find them. But not now. Now, I will enjoy in this ritual that the ancestors have led me to. Free food is not something I would say no to! Let us see how well these tshameks can cook! Looking quite out of place amongst the primarily ethic Chelaxians and Varisians of the town, Istakkos is dressed in mostly traditional Shoanti shamanistic garb - bones and other small fetishes adorn much of his clothing, and what isn't covered in his reinforced silk robes is covered in tattoos - except for his obviously blackened and burn-scarred forearms. Despite his out of place look, Istakkos travels amongst the festivities, looking at the different foods available for free. He's quite hungry from the travelling, but hasn't the faintest clue where to begin, as he doesn't know most of the foods he sees. He's also not used to having such a choice of foods before, and this causes him to be indecisive. ![]()
Male Shoanti Human Oracle of Lore 1
![]() Sounds good to me as well! As for the story itself, I know the general storyline (Won't spoil it), but I haven't read through anything, so I don't know the specifics. That being said, I'm not one to mix character and player knowledge. I've ran with extremely well built characters who roleplayed as dumb as bricks, shafting myself but having a helluva fun time (It was a Goblin, btw.) As for darker tones, I'm all fine with that. I've been DMing the Skulls and Shackles AP, and lets just say that my players got.. extremely dark and brutal when they finally got their hands on one of the NPCs they've been wanting to kill. Multiple people went down the Evil Alignment end, and one guy got a 'favor' from Zon-Kuthon for his.. unintentional offerings of pain and suffering. Anyhoo, the house rules sound fine, nothing game-changing really there. Heck my players and I generally run with Skills are auto-fail on 1's and auto-succeed on 20's (Within reason. No jumping to infinity [and beyond]), which has nearly shafted the players from time to time lol. Lets do eeeet! ![]()
Male Shoanti Human Oracle of Lore 1
![]() The only issue I have with using Mythweavers is that I have to jury-rig the AC, Reflex, Initiative, and (Soon) the Knowledge Skills to use Charisma instead of Dex/Int. So you'll see either Misc bonuses or Dodge bonuses for the respective ones. You'll also see a massive penalty in CMD to get rid of the dodge bonus from my CHA, as my ability doesn't allow me to use my Cha for CMD. Tis a bit confusing, but it'll work out in the end. ![]()
![]() I'll know 80 spells by the time we're level 18. And, if all goes according to plan with stat items, I'll have 96 spells per day. ...the only issue is that my highest spell level will be 7, and I'll only have a very limited number of those (3 known between the two). Still... Also don't mind me, I'm just getting giggity about this character, as I've been wanting to play a Mystic Theurge for ages. :P ![]()
![]() I'll have my sheet made soon. Currently going through the buttload of spells I have available to me and planning out the ones I'll probably want by the time we're level 18. So many spells to go through.. XD And then theres feats, which actually I think will be easier. Once thats done, the Mythweaver's sheet will only take minutes. ![]()
![]() Well they're nothing major - just a modified curse (Blackened), which gave me a nice offensive spell at the cost of me ever being useful with my spear, and I replaced Sanctuary with Burning Disarm. If we get another sorcerer, I'll probably just bring back Sanctuary, as I like that the Blackened curse does not affect touch spells, so i'll be keeping it either way. And I'm all up for a 6th person if your brother doesn't show up, though I couldn't make the decision myself as to who. Also, your brother as a Sorcerer is fine by me. If anything though, I wouldn't want HIM to be hampered by my insane spellcasting :D At level 2 I'll have 10 1st level spells per day.. :3 ![]()
![]() I will be able to make it for sure. Just need to finish up my guy's personality on his info.. forgot to do that. Got distracted by Blood Bowl ... hehe. And I can make a Mythweaver sheet easily enough, I've used 'em before. Will get right on that. Also, it looks like I'm going to be the arcane support of the group then eh? Going to do some very slight modifications (spells mainly) then, to be more offensive in nature. Nothing major though. And for the record, I'm a He, so no need to go confusing my gender like Varsarvius from Order of the Stick. :P |
