Yeah, this book delivered for me. I love the writing from the Geb's side. Paizo should do this more - give your books a character!

2/5

From players side this book is OK. From GM's side this book is a dissapointment.

If you have already read Gods and Magic and Last Watch, this book won't give you much. A lot of the information here are just reprints.

There are no maps or adventure locations (just super shallow and generic descriptions of a few places).

At the bare minimum I was hoping for a map of Vellumis or Ruins of Vigil at least.

There is just a single map of the region which is the same one as we have already seen (it is a blank empty map with locations only at the boarders and bulk of the map is just empty void). If you compare it to the map of Ustalav from Rule of Fear (1e) - it doesn't stand a chance.

As a setting book - Rule of Fear is strightly supperior and Knights of Lastwall can not compare. It also pales in comparision with the Book of the Dead.

Art on the cover is amazing, but that can't be said about a lot of the art in the book.

A lot of known characters which have been depicted in different products looks realy embarasingly pathetic in this book which is sad (The Whispering Tyrant, Ulthun, Iomedae, Kazutal, Milani, Ragathiel, Sarenrae). Personally this art style does not work for me and I would be embarassed to show it to my players.

Somehow a namless NPC blacksmith (page 14) or Whispering Way Cultist (page 21) looks much more regal and godlike and cool than the gods in this book. Which is beyond me.

Aylunna Varvatos, Veena Heliu and Gendowyn - their art is amazing.

TLDR: Paizo, for the love of the gods - give us quality maps in your setting books, please (and no cheating like with Redoubt of the Red Crusader from Vigil used as Absalom Undercity)!
