1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 - Holy Strike v Ghoul 4. On hit target takes additional 1hp radiant.
1d8 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 7 + (4) = 12

Surrounded by enemies and in his element, Hadarai smiles for the first time in many days and smites his ghoul.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Hadarai fails to capitalise on his opportunity. Bloody dice.

They're quite clear if you view the map in the largest size.

Hadarai breathes deeply and teleports clear before charging at Ghoul 4.

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23. On hit ghoul 4 is marked by Hadarai.
May hit, so 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 damage.

Hadarai winces and shakes his head slightly in self-disgust as the portcullis holds him in place.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 - -2 if he's not within 10 of Grafire.

Hadarai hastily removes his hand and looks apologetically at Grafire.

"Is it locked?"

Hadarai tries to find out. Discreetly.

Hadarai strides to the front.

Defender. Kind of his job.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 - Athletics
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 - second stage descent
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 - third stage
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 - fourth stage

Hadarai descends competently, if not elegantly.

Hadarai nods approval.

"I can teleport part of the way, which may be helpful."

Hadarai scans the area for threats, aware that even as he trances his eladrin senses will alert him to danger.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 - Perception

Yay. Hadarai's finely-honed eladrin senses will alert him to danger at about the time that it lands on his elegant toes. Please someone roll a decent Perception check.

Hadarai advances on the mouth, sword drawn, prepared to teleport away if anything tries to yank him inside with a grappling hook.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 - init.

Hadarai nods to Otto. "I will guard you."

The intention is certainly good, even if on past form the outcome may be less desirable.

His luck has to turn sometime, right?

Hadarai cleans his blade and restores himself.

Using one surge to get back to full. 6 remaining.

Hadarai advances inexorably on H3.

Move and charge adjacent.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
That may hit, I guess.
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Double move east please.

Hadarai pursues.

Hadari makes his way doggedly across the desperate ground.

Double move as far east as possible avoiding hazards other than his own feet.

Hadarai moves and charges, determined to try and hit something before the fight ends. The object of his wrath is heretic 6.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 - Holy Strike. On hit target takes addional 1 radiant damage.
That might actually hit. So ...
1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9

Hadarai blunders up the hill, following the sounds of battle. His vision clears.

Double move.
1d20 ⇒ 13 - save v blindness.

Hadarai blunders south following the sounds of laughter and swings again. His blade shortens some grass but comes nowhere near his foe.

He is the most useless defender ever when I play him.
Move south and charge
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
No surprise there then.

1d20 ⇒ 8 - save v blind.
No surprise there either.

Hadarai curses fluently and uncharacteristically in elven.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Outraged by the attack on the sweet old mage, Hadarai lunges and misses.

Hadarai teleports and arrives next to the Shadowblade attacking Manny.

"Do allow me."

Holy Strike (AC)
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

Despite his best intentions, Hadarai proves slightly less useful than he'd like.

Delays until after Akahale.

Hadarai turns on the barbarian who so savagely wounded Otto.

Holy Smite (AC) on Berserk 2. On hit target takes an additional 1 radiant damage.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11

If that finishes him, he will move and get to work on the Hippogriff using an AP. If not, he'll mark Berserk 2.

"I shall, my friend!"

Hadarai's head comes up as he looks towards the hippogriff.

Unconscious. Want to talk to one of them.

Hadarai ranges alongside Otto, striking at the lurking tiefling.

Move (if possible to get adjacent to Otto for bonus. Move and charge is need be for the same result.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

The flames seem to be inspiring rather than impairing, unlike the ice of the river.

1d20 ⇒ 16 - save v ongoing fire damage.

Nonetheless, the warrior is not unhappy when they die away.

Hadarai wrote:

Hadarai moves purposefully towards the base of the hill.

. . . and bursts into flames.

Move three squares east.

Hadarai moves purposefully towards the base of the hill.

Apologies. Misread it.

Grafire - it's you to go first. We have a surprise round before the tieflings get going. One of a move, standard or minor.

Hadarai gestures courteously at his draconic comrade.

One action each as we're in surprise mode?

Also, sorry to be a pain, but is the slope up difficult terrain as well?

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 - init inc Grafire bonus.

Hadarai moves carefully off the ice and takes a few long breathes.

"At least they should not be hard to track."

Using 3 surges to get back to full hp.

HP: 61/61
Temp hp: 0
Bloodied: 38
Healing Surges: 8/11
AP: 1

With Grafire's help, Hadarai tries once more to rid himself of the encroaching cold. The warlord's stirring words are enough.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 - save v ongoing cold.

Feet fixed to the ice, the fighter restores himself before, swinging at the bloodied zombie, almost hoping he doesn't kill the thing for fear of the resulting explosion demolishing both himself and Otto. His hopes prove unjustified, as for the first time in many moons, he strikes true.

Second wind. All defenses +2 to start next turn

AP to use Holy Strike (AC). On hit, target takes 1hp extra radiant damage.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30 - inc flanking bonus from Grafire.
1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15 - radiant damage inc extra 1hp radiant

1d20 ⇒ 3 - save v ongoing cold

The cold holds him fast as his blood slowly starts to freeze in his veins.

34/61hp
4 temp hp
No longer bloodied
Used 2nd wind
Used AP
Still taking 5 ongoing cold damage

"My thanks, Otto. I shall try to defend you ..." Hadarai is wracked with self-doubt.

Hadarai looks a little grim as he takes another blow and is once more welded to the spot.

15/61hp

Bloodied though he is, and still unable to move, Hadarai swings grimly at the zombie threatening Otto. As before the chill running through his blood severely impedes him.

Holy Strike on CZ10; on hit takes additional 1hp radiant damage
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Sigh.
1d20 ⇒ 8 save v ongoing cold

HP: 26/61
Temp hp: 0
Bloodied: 38
Healing Surges: 11
Surge Value: 19
AC: 24
Fort: 22
Ref: 22
Will: 22
Used Fey Step.
Status: rolling horribly; immobilised; 5 ongoing cold damage

Hadarai allows himself a small wince as the latest zombie attack bloodies him.

Hadarai swings at CZ8, holy light blazing from his sword. As before he is too cold to make any impact at all.

Holy Strike. On hit target takes 1 extra radiant damage.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Can he move? He's immoblised, but does he benefit from Grafire's power?

Hadarai swings at CZ2, hoping to thin the herd around Otto. Chill slows him and he misses horribly.

"My apologies, Otto. My aim seems particularly poor at the moment." He looks slightly concerned. "I do hope Grafire can free himself shortly . . ." The eladrin shivers uncontrollably.

Valiant Smite. On hit target is marked.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 - inc +3 bonus for adjacent enemies
Bah.

Save v ongoing cold 1d20 ⇒ 5

Held in place on the ice, Hadarai tries to thin the herd.

Holy Strike (AC) v CBZ2. On hit target takes additional 1 radiant damage
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 radiant damage
CBZ2 is marked by Hadarai

1d20 ⇒ 5 - save v ongoing cold. Clearly not.

"Away! Back to the depths with you!"

Hadarai's enthusiastic boy scout tones ring across the ice.

Based on Hadarai and Akahale's recent efforts, I'm not sure Otto really wants either of them next to him. He's quite likely to his head lopped off by friendly fire.

"Sometimes I forget my heritage."

Seeing Otto surrounded, Hadarai calls on his fey heritage and teleports gracefully next to him.

"My apologies. Allow me to offer some aid."

Fey step to square west of Otto.
Valiant Strike v Zombie Z
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

The eladrin misses horribly, but hopes at least to provide a distraction in the form of another target.

If he can mark without hitting, he does so.

Hadarai swipes at a fleeing berserker. In his anxiety to get further long the bank and help Otto, he misses completely. Nonetheless, he pursues and tries again.

OA on B1
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 - flub city

Move 2 squares south and try B1 again.
Valiant Smite with CA
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Hadarai swings at his personal berserker.

Valiant Strike v B1
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
1d8 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
B1 is still marked.

"Leave the ice if you can!" he calls to his comrades. "The dead are called by the blood of the living."

Flames ripple around Hadarai as he shifts alongiside Grafire and looks his enemies in the eye.

"For the glory and honour of the elven court!"

His blade swings into Berserker 1.

Valiant Strike (attacking at +12 due to having another enemy adjacent.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 - doubtful, but just in case that hits
1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d20 ⇒ 19 - save v ongoing fire

The flames die away.

Grafire - sorry to leap in before you. We should focus fire and start removing these bods. Bererker 1 as suggested first target.

Heretic 1 then. And hopefully Grafire will roll better than Hadarai.
