Alright, so currently my pathfinder society Ranger is rocking an Akylosaurus animal companion. My DM says it's legit, but I want to make sure it's legit in the event I want to play pathfinder at a con.
So the crux of the argument. I know Akylosaurus are on the alternative animal companions list, but are there some companions that are druid only? Some literature says "Rangers can choose alternative companions like a druid" but others say "pick from this list", the language is nebulous. I love Bones (my Akylosaurus) I dont want to lose him, but if I'm cheating I'd like to fix it.
According to this: http://pathfinderrpg.wikidot.com/ranger
I can take the Ankylosaurus, but it also seems to have a typo regarding animal companions (they're equal to a druid level half your ranger level, not -3)
