Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Fine by me!

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma points out the strange marks on the orc's body.

"Any ideas what caused that?" she says, giving the half-elf who tried to talk over her a sidelong glance.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma moved towards the body to see if she could figure out the cause of death.

Grandma remains withinthe formation, unable to see farther than the others. Instead, she waits to see if more of the creatures attack them.

Sounds like a plan!

Sounds like a plan!

"Good thinking," Grandma says to Anna.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma approached the corpse of te krenshar and poked it with her quarterstaff. Grunting in satisfaction, she hon led back to the orcs.

"That was what you were afraid of?" she sneered at them.

Been sick, better now.

It is impressive how much an iPhone can mess up a post! Does it all make sense?

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

I just want to point out that Grandma can't see beyond 30'. Therefore, if she is the only person who spotted the krenshar, then it gets a surprise round. However, things get different when she can see it.[/ooc

"Lie," Grandma barks, pointing at the beast.

"What in Pharasma's name are you lot gawping at?" Grandma demanded, bustling her way over to the other Ghawns.

"Open the door then," Grandma growled, giving the cowering orcs a long, hard stare. "We can feed these cowards to whatever is behind it."

Looking at the roster, we have an abundance of classes who can heal so I am willing to relegate the ornery Grandma to an NPC position and introduce another Ghawn whose focus will be the disabling of traps. However, I notice that we seem to be a bit light on frontline fighters as well.

I'm thinking trapsmith Rogue but with some sort of trip weapon to aid in combat.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma was likely to be pure Oracle (of Bones) albeit with the Seer archetype. I will work up a trapfinder and see what I think.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

I am still around. I had been waiting for the return of our errant GM. So, we appear to be missing a Rogue or similar trapfinder? Assuming we have enough archaists and beakers, I'd be willing to retire Grandma (possibly as a recurring NPC?) and run a trapfinding Ghawn.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma grunts as she walks into the invisible barrier, but shakes off those who come to her aid. Annoyed, she takes a step back and taps the wall with her quarterstaff.

"Rulgha. Have you ever seen anything like this before?"

Grandma rolled her eyes at the orcs huddled in the corner, but had to admit that they might prove to be useful allies.

"Out of the way," she said, pushing the other Ghawns out of the way. Kneeling she inspected the orcs to see whether they had any obvious wounds.

"Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot," she continued, as she looked the orcs over, "We are the Ghawn family, and we are here to conquer this cave."

Grandma fixed Anna with a rheumy glare.

"An orc who cowers in the shadows is no orc at all," she growls, but looks beyond the group of orcs, "However, let's prepare for whatever frightened them."

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

For the briefest of moments, Grandma deliberated internally how to deal with these orcs. Finally, she stepped forward and spoke in her best authoritative voice.

"You call yourselves orcs?" she said loudly, "I've seen dwarves with more backbone! Step forward out of those shadows and introduce yourself!"

Grandma peered towards the cough but her clouded vision was even worse when she was standing in a room with such poor lighting.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" Grandma gripped her quarterstaff even tighter. Although she wasn't likely to attack first, she would defend herself.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma studied the wall for the briefest of moments.

"Are we Ghawns or field mice?" she growled, stepping into the portal.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

For group 2, who wants to be Grandma's descendants? Just so I can figure out the familial relations.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

"Are you lot coming or not?" Grandma asked as she held the door open.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma studied both doors, and then shrugged. Wordlessly, she opened the other door.

"Odds are either door is just as bad," she said as she grasped the door handle.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma's hands tighten around her quarterstaff at Grandpa's comments. She knew she would come out of the dungeon and rule the family, and would ensure that the old half-orc will get his comeuppance.

"Come on then," she snarled at the younger Ghawns, "Let's get this over and done with!"

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

For a moment, Grandma stood there dumbfounded. Here was her brother, admitting that he could no longer lead the family! It only took her a moment to recover.

"Off the chair then, you longtusk," Grandma used a sly insult in naming her brother, "Your time has passed and it is my turn now!"

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

"You ox-brained good for nothing," Grandma swore as she swept into the room, "What are you up to now?" Most of the older family members know that the ageing half-orc is only patriarch due to the fact he is ten months older than Grandma.

Grandma looked at the half elf with a bit of suspicion, as she always did with newcomers. Nevertheless, it appeared that the patriarch had summoned her too.

"Come on," she grumbled, "Let's not keep his majesty waiting."

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Still chuckling at her own joke, Grandma looked around at the assembled throng of Ghawns and associates. It had been a long time since they had been gathered like this; something was up and she meant to uncover what it was.

Grandma's eyes softened as Zierka came into view. As one of the only other females in the family, it would eventually fall to her to become matriarch. That she showed such a level head at a young age was promising.

"Hello, my dear," Grandma said, beckoning the inquisitor over for a hug, "It has been too long. Have you found yourself a mate yet?" Grandma was never one to pull punches, especially where the future of the family was concerned. As one of the most human looking of the family, her prospects were better than most. Regardless, Grandma was of a mind to try and set her up with one of the Ulfen in the city. They displayed excellent qualities for breeding stock.

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

"Of course I do, you bonehead," Grandma said, snatching the note from Glawng. She read the note regardless before growling and handing it back to the youngster.

"It appears he is up to his old tricks again," she continued, although it sounded more like a monologue than being directed at Glawng, "You can come with me and we'll see what he's after this time."

Grandma hauled herself to her feet, although she did so slowly as befitted her age. If Glawng had been given a letter, then so too would at least some of the others.

"We'll wait for the others to arrive, and go to this meeting together."

Female Half-Orc Oracle (Seer) 1

Grandma scowled at the note before plucking it from the air. She unfurled it, then unceremoniously discarded it onto the floor.

"Damn show off," she grumbled beneath her breath. As one of the oldest Ghawns, she knew where the old house was but she wasn't sure why the patriarch would have called a meeting there.

Kn history 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Rolling to see whether Grandma has any insight into why he has called the meeting there.

I guess Allied and Shielded.

"Well I can hardly let you go haring off by yourself now, Zierka," Grandma said, shifting her weight using her quarterstaff. Scooping a solid leather cup from her belt, she shook it a few times before emptying the contents onto the dust-covered floor of the room.

"Hmm, mixed blessings," the aged half-orc said cryptically.

Camp 2, if there was any doubt.

Hopefully, that's where Grandma's powers of divination will come in handy. Profile updated!

"What's this?" Grandma Ghawn screeched as she hobbled into the room, her rheumy eyes flitting to each person standing there.

"You think you'll last long without your Grandma, eh?"
