Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() ^ Fair enough, but I don't want you to bleed out before that happens, at least. Well, not that we're really in combat now, but Standard for Stabilize, then move action to land on the ground, and free to dispel the wings. Waving his hand, Gorik quickly sends a wave of energy forward, sealing Ezra's wounds, before he lowers himself to the ground. Dispelling the wings, he staggers to the ground. He chuckles at the jibe. "Well, you certainly were much more trouble than I expected. Guess those duels of yours taught you something, at least." ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() With a burst of speed, Gorik moves forward. "Are you finished with this crap yet, or not?" he calls out, darting around the pillar. "It's time we ended this!" Quickly muttering a spell once more, he releases another beam of light upon her. Move action to P17, then standard for another searing ray (I wish I gave Gorik more blasty stuff. He's clearly needing to use a lot). Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
Also, I think I was off by 2 on the attack roll last time I did this. I did 19 for some reason rather than 17. I'm assuming your touch AC isn't higher than 30 though, so... ...I hope I didn't kill you there... that's a lot of damage. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Panting, Gorik flies up, then darts over to the side. I've had enough of this, he thinks. Raising one hand high, energy crackles around it, before he throws it forward, with an echoing yell, a massive peal of thunder ringing out from next to Ezra. Move action to P3, then standard for Thunderburst, targeting the intersection of Q16 and R17, though it's a 25-foot burst, so it's pretty much gonna hit regardless. Damage: 11d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 4, 1, 2, 2, 2, 6, 1, 3) = 34 DC 20 Fort Save to halve the damage, and if you fail the save, you're also deafened for 1 hour. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() P4? That's a bizarre place to go to... I expected you to be on my ass, trying to secure the kill :P Since I'll need to do it anyway if I win, move action to pull out a wand of CLW, and standard to activate it. CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Woot for a high recovery. I was worried I was gonna get 2. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Damn, at 34 health. All right, puttin' on my serious face. Gorik lets out an angry yell as two more arrows found their mark. "Alright, I'm getting tired of this crap!" he yells. Lifting a hand high, golden light coalesces on it before he throws it forward, sending a beam of light shooting down. Standard action for Searing Light, requiring a ranged touch attack. Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28 So, quite confident that hits. Also, I'm going to assume that you are probably not an undead creature, or an undead that is particularly vulnerable to light? :P Damage: 5d8 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 7, 2) = 18 18 damage, and Gorik is moving behind a pillar for cover. Move action to G16. I'm kind of going to hope that is suitable cover, cuz I have trouble telling. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() I figured we'd get some crits if we just kept shooting :P Alright, one more full attack to see if I've got any luck on this, if not, things are gonna get... intense. Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Hmm... I'm not entirely placated by this, but it helps. Also, Divine Favor 3/10. Gettin' low :( ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Gorik lets out a grunt as two arrows slam home, before chuckling. "So, you do know how to use a sissy little girl bow, huh?" he says, before loosing two arrows back. Full attacking once more.
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
'Effing hell! Gorik spits in disgust. What the hell am I doing, he thinks to himself, shaking his head. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Likewise, full attack! Archery full attacks, I am willing to trade on, methinks. Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
...Though it would really be nice if some of them could freakin' hit... Divine favor 5/10 ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Ezra Scarlet Acadia VI wrote: ...successful save... Dammit, that's why I hate using [save] negates! Give me a partial any day >_< Anywho, so, you stepped to directly under me? Well, 5-foot step (5-foot flap?) to J13, still at ceiling height, and Full attack, without using deadly aim, since I would like to get some freakin damage in :/ Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
...Neither of those hit, do they? Yeesh. Divine Favor 6/10 I think. Forgot to track it for a round. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() I don't think so. I was stationary for the casting, and if I'm not hit during the actual casting, damage from before shouldn't matter. Casting defensively is just to avoid an AoO, but I don't think any other factors were in play there. Then again, I'm not perfectly familiar with all of the situations where concentration checks come in, so I could be wrong. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Oops, yeah that should definitely be a d8. My bad. Good thing it didn't hit anyway, I suppose, but yeah, definitely not a d20 on the damage die. I won't bother editing it now, but if I do that again, especially on something that hits, let me know. Not sure if this is smart, but Standard for Bestow Curse, casting defensively, needing a 21 check. If I fail you get an attack of opportunity. Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36 And that was a crit. Wonderful. Touch attack to deliver it, and if I crit fail right after... Touch attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 Okay, I think that hits? DC 18 Will save, at a -2 penalty from sickened. After that, I'm going to fly up towards the ceiling, if you want an acrobatics check? If the curse hits, you'll have a -4 penalty to all attack rolls, saves, ability checks and skill checks... permanently... though I did bring scrolls of remove curse, in case I hit anyone with that. Gritting his teeth, Gorik weathers the attack, before making quick motions with his free hand and muttering to himself. His hand glows with a ghostly blue light, before he reaches out, transferring it to Ezra, before darting up towards the ceiling in a whirl of wings. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Yeah, I thought that seemed kind of odd. It seems like it could be more for positioning though. Rather than taking a single 5-foot step to follow your foe, you can move 10 feet to get into a better position on them, maybe to pin them against a wall or something? That seems like a possibility for what follow up is for, but like I said, I don't really know. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Oh? Did I read ability damage wrong, or do you just have too heavy armor to make full use of your Dex? And are you sure? I know it's a high bonus to acrobatics, but it goes against your CMD. Is it not possible to fail on that? Barely dodging another blow, Gorik cursed under his breath. Darting around the woman, he flew over the fountain, nocking back an arrow and loosing it once more. Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
I wonder if I should stop using deadly aim. I'd like to do some damage at least, and I think I would have last turn if I hadn't used it :/ Edit: And this turn too, I bet! Bah!
![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Dodging back, Gorik avoids the blows, before twisting away, to gain some distance, and firing once more. Move with acrobatics to P11, then standard to shoot, using deadly aim.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (10) + 18 = 28
Also, you took 2 points of Dex damage, if I recall? Not sure what that makes your AC now, but it's something. Edit: Divine Favor 9/10 ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Hanging still in the air, Gorik calls out, "Just waiting for the worms to do their job, or were you planning on actually fighting?" He also makes a few brief motions with his hand, golden light sparking across his skin for a moment, before flying through the air to reposition. Standard action to cast Divine Favor. Move action to O9. Edit: Note, he's not particularly far off the ground, hovering like 5-10 probably. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Gorik flaps his wings once to move back, simultaneously twisting to avoid an attack. With some distance between them again, he pulls out an arrow and fires. Using acrobatics to avoid an AoO, DC is equal to your CMD, if I fail, you can attack (assuming the shield threatens). Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (9) + 26 = 35 Move action to K17, and standard to shoot with deadly aim. Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23

![]() +8 Armor is Air Barrier Revelation. Available 11 hours a day. Shoot, I have 26 AC? I started writing this thinking I had 25 and got hit. Well. Gorik grunts as the arrow flies by, just barely veering off course and missing him. "Much as your insults are entertaining, I'm not terribly in the mood for them," he says, while gesturing with his free hand, before a vile red light begins to glow from it. Darting forward, he lands next Ezra. "Perhaps this will interest you more," he says, then reaches forward. Standard action for Fleshworm Infestation, Move Action to M12, next to Ezra, and Free action to deliver the touch attack, from casting in the same round. Touch Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Edit: If that hits, here's the reference. Basically, on your turn for the next 11 rounds, you need a DC 19 Fort Save. Failure means 1d6 damage, 2 points of Dex damage, and you're staggered for the round. Success means no damage, but you are sickened for the round (-2 on... several things Edit 2: attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.) ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() I kind of assumed you had already drawn it, as I didn't think we'd actually be going into combat that fast. But okay. I'm also unsure where we were positioned? I'm just gonna move from the fountain. Swift action for Wings of Air, Move action to G12, about 10 feet off the ground, while drawing my bow. Otherwise, just gonna end my turn. "Hmph, I see you're still unhappy with my fighting style," he says. "That's a shame, but I'm not terribly inclined to change it, so I suggest you adapt." Also, dunno how long we were taking a break? Fickle Winds would be lasting for 11 minutes, so if it was a short break, it may still be on? Dunno. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Gorik looks around, getting to his feet and pulling his bow free. "Agreed. I doubt it would be wise to tarry here long," he says, then looks over to Ezra. "Well, are you ready to continue this battle, then? I doubt there's much else to be done." Initiative as well: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11 ![]()

Gorik glanced over towards the windows, taking another look at the murky shapes outside. "Can't say I know about that. I've certainly not seen anything quite like them before, at least not on such a scale." He limped over towards the fountain and seated himself on the opposite side, before taking some trail rations from his pack. "And so, what have your duels taught you, I wonder? If you haven't learned to deal with invisible opponents, or to catch one who's flying, I find it hard to believe they've been informative in how to handle a real combat situation. Do you all just stand still and swing swords at each other?" ...Fighter full attack/lack of mobility for the win :P ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Gorik hovers, suspended in the air. "Your notions of honor are..." he trails off for a moment, before a smirk spreads across his face and he chuckles, "amusing," he finishes. Lowering himself to the ground with ease, the wings vanish and he winces slightly as weight returns to his leg. "Your failure to overcome my 'cowardly' fighting style speaks volumes for what your honor," he spoke the word with a bite of sarcasm, "really does for you, doesn't it? I don't doubt that you would beat me on an even field of combat, standing toe to toe, but, while I don't know how you've practiced your little duels, that's not how 'real' battle goes, is it?" He grunts. "But... I've had no interest in killing anyone from the start here. If you fall, I will see to it that you receive healing anyway, 'Acadian Dueling Arena Rules' or not. If you'd like to call a truce, for now, very well, but you'd best be prepared to counter the very same tactics you've seen already, because I won't hesitate to use them again." He slings his bow over his back, and crosses his arms, turning partly away, but looking back. "One last thing you have in error: I serve no one," he growls, "be they God or mortal. Do not call me a servant again." ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() "So you're not mute after all, hmm?" he asks. With that, he flapped his ethereal wings once for some distance, considering her offer. "I don't see how a truce benefits me. A surrender might make things go quicker though. You don't seem to be having much luck in this fight, do you?" he asked, with a sarcastic grin. ![]()

Seeing Ezra start running, Gorik follows "Oh, come on, I admit that's a smart choice, but we're supposed to be defeating each other. Running doesn't get this done any faster." Circling around the tree, he lets fly another arrow. Move to Q or R 9 should negate cover I think? Last I heard I was at G8, so I should have 30 feet of movement still past Q9 for positioning if need be. 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
Attack and Damage. And if I need to recast Divine Favor, I may be sad :/ I think it's 1/10 now? ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

1d8 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() @ Ezra: What are you attacking with? If it's arrows, they won't be getting through the fickle winds. Pretty much auto-deflected. Edit: Reference ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Chaiboy, 5 damage is correct. The failed Will save means half damage. And lol, nice job taking everything into account, Azaelas. Gorik grunts as an arrow slams into him, two others being deflected by the high-density air that serves as his armor. "Bout time," he mutters as he composes himself. "So, that's what we're doing, huh? Well then, I hope you can deal with this..." Holding his free hand out to the side, he rips the flow of air around him, bending it to his will, then flies forward. Standard Action to cast Fickle Winds on myself, then move action to G8, hanging out at max height. Edit: 89 health, btw. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Okay, I'm assuming that would be the turn order then after Ezra's last movement. I don't think the map is quite accurate on her spot, but if she is at G3/H4, I'm assuming that gives her cover from me. So... Gritting his teeth, Gorik takes flight. "Come on, I don't have all day for this!" he says loudly, nocking back an arrow and firing it. Move action to I 13, assuming that gives me a clear shot. Standard action to fire, using deadly aim. 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
Divine favor 5/10 or 6/10? Not sure when it ticks over. ![]()

![]() I think Ezra moved to about H8, yes? Well either way... Gorik let out a grunt. "Hmph, you know that tree's hardly any taller than you are!" he called out. Lifting his hand, a malevolent green glow began to spread around it. "Won't cover you from this though!" he yelled, and threw his hand forward before flying further off. Standard action to cast Debilitating Portent. Lasts for 11 rounds, and whenever you make an attack, you need a DC 20 Will save or you do half damage. I can also dismiss it to negate a critical hit.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() @ Ezra: I think your enlarge person, and my divine favor, are on the same countdown, unless Chaiboy ruled that it was done before entering the arena (which I don't think really makes much difference). If they are on the same time though, I think they're both at 3, maybe 4? Also, waiting for turn list, I guess? I don't want to rush things. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() I'll proceed according to the second one, so move to F19 first then shoot. Are we just using the rolls from before? If that's the case, it's actually 37 on an attack from being invisible, and no Dex bonus to AC on that. If it hits, 16 damage, and either way, my invisibility's up. If you'd prefer I roll again though, I can. ![]()
Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Awww, so I can't perch on one of the pillars? Sadface. Okay, so I know where Ezra is more or less? If I can shoot from where I'm at now, then I will do that with a full attack, using deadly aim. If I can't then I'll move to F19... er, F91 I mean :) ... and shoot from there. In the case of the former:
1d8 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
If it's the latter:
1d8 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 Holy crap, had a dice explosion for a second o.O Edit: And damn, those are awfully good rolls. I swear I'm not cheating XP Chaiboy, you can update my position as appropriate, or just let me know which one happened. Male Half-Orc Oracle 11
![]() Assuming that perception check doesn't see me... Ready for some action, Gorik focuses for just a short second, as cloudy wings unfurl from his back. The other is 35 ft. going straight up into the air. Stealth check to remain sneaky 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (20) + 33 = 53
I think I'm on the right turn yes, if Ezra's last movement was to F9? Edit: Oh, and I guess a fly check if needed? Pretty sure I can't fail most simple movements, but hey. 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (17) + 24 = 41 |
