What GM requirements do we want to have? I’d like daily posting at the minimum.

Did we have any house rules to present to the GM or that we want to get rid of? I can’t think of any.

How do we feel about the game style? IMO, this game was a lot of story and the PC’s seemed to have a lot of leeway. Do we want the same thing or a stricter GM? As a character who highly values the first/surprise round, a little more strictness would be nice, but it ultimately isn’t a sticking point for me.

I think we are clear on houserules as far as I know.

Beyond that, I don't have any real preferences, I like a GM who mostly sticks to the rules. I think the biggest thing is that if you have situations like what you are saying with surprise round beeing an important mechanic for sneak attack. So I would say I stand where you stand Tyker, a little more use/enforcement of rules would be nice if I got to pick.

But, I appreciate a GM for whatever they bring to the table and don't mind some deviance or a more story focused approach, as long as they are up front about it. Especially since finding one always seems difficult.

I'll pass on the Emerald Spire run, but thanks for the offer. I'm cool with looking for another GM.

I'm a bit busy this weekend, but come Tuesday could post a thread up in Recruitment if not done so yet.

Golwen occupies himself with exhaling a ring of smoke, that he admires before surveying their surroundings. It's strange, I keep imagining there will be a small Hamlet or such about, or at the very least a farm. These lands are quite astounding. It's shameful the bandits have thought to put them to such nefarious uses.

Imagine if we settled out here, what sort of changes would the land go through? ....

Wonder what other intriguing things we will find out here?
Golwen's mind goes back to Nettles, as he says the last bit.

Golwen watches in both interest and surprise as the events unfolds. "Yes... Well. I agree, off we go. Certainly a spectacle though. Poor man, died trying to make a living, only to find himself in undeath. I wonder what sort of traits one aquires when one in his position. I'm not scholar of the dead, a little to morbid for me, you see. But if we were to kill his 'body' so you think he would stay dead, or continue to haunt the area?"
Golwen pauses realizing what he said.
Not hat I would want to put him through any more misery, rather I'd be quite happy to put him out of it. It was just an interesting thought.
Oh, right!
Golwen turns and deposits then promised money. And offers a silent prayer up for thenmabs soul.
May you soon find peace in true death. I'm sorry for your lot.

Two things further come to my mind. Someday if the chance offers itself, it be a nice offering to this man's memory to rebuild this bridge. Should we find ourselves the luxury of time, and, supplies... Or better yet, magic.

Second, these pendents he speaks of, seems like something we should keep an eye out for.

SO, it looks like Ryker might have some idea of where he is going.

Still here, been bogged down with a more aggressive work schedule than I'm used to. I imagine I'll be bit spotty till after the holidays but I'll do my best to keep engaged and active. I've also still been having problems with my internet and desktop, something I haven't had time to fix. Posting from my phone isn't something I like to do but have grown to accept it's the only way forward for me for now.

As far as the game goes I'm having fun and am still fully committed. I don't plan on going anywhere of my own volition.

Golwen pauses a moment a little surprised by these turn of events before speaking. Greetings. My fine er... fellow. I think my friend here is quite right. Our business is actually not in this direction. And we wouldn't want to bother you further.

How about 5 copper pieces for your time and then maybe you might tell us what happened in greater detail? I'll throw in a silver piece if you give up information that would be useful to a group of would be explorers. Then we can let you get back to that lovely river of yours.

What do you say?

I vote we should try and meet this Nettle, the chap might might be willing to part with more than just bridge access?"

Golwen eyes the water doubtfully, reminiscing on all of those times he hadn't swam.

Golwen waves his hands up as if to say let's move on, he felt that this topic was one that seemed closed. He didn't like to waste time on dead ends.

Filling his water skin on the other hand did seem like aovely die.
"Splendid, the water looks so fresh! Regardless of how it actually looks.

"Oh come now gentlemen, surely we aren't going to leave them here to do as they please, what when we've got the element of surprise on them? They will be a thorn in our side until we deal with them. If there are truly only three then we have double their numbers, more if you 'really' count Makoa. A nice little ambush and favorable terrain and we must find ourselves with a strong upper hand, you know? Plus, less riding later."

Golwen pauses to wait, mostly accepting that he had probably lost this discussion.

"Provoking an apex predator sounds foolish, but there is also the possibility that it's lair has something valuable within it. Not to mention it seems overall less foolish than our current endeavor... Hunting this boar might make the area safer, maybe we can get some coin for doing such a 'public service'," he says with a smirk. "Anyone know what the hell an Asphodel and a Lahppiduhk are? Can't say I've ever heard the names before."

"Makoa, you seem raring to go. What do you say about a stroll through the meadow? I'm sure it'll make for a fine tale of heroics!"

Golwen smiles warmly at Makoa.

I don't believe so. It's been a bit of a lull ever since we dealt with the Kobolds. I've not had much computer access the past like 3 weeks because of internet issues that I think I have at least band-aided so my posting has been down, and certainly like most groups everyone has their ups and down else-wise. Golwen looks back and forth between Azul and Makoa, pondering. Who to follow... What does this Makoa think we should go that way, does he suspect some sort of complex Illusion magic, or force, is at play? No... There is no way.
Makoa, why exactly do you think that event which appeared to be a lightning strike was occuring in that direction exactly? I don't know specific but it would seem more appropriate that it was in maybe over the way Azul is pointing."

Golwen takes a couple steps towards Azul as he speaks.

So maybe we move in that direction and explore those hexes then? Not gonna lie, the one Kingmaker campaign i joined (before it died out) had gotten to a point where we did very little Hexploration. So I'm not familiar with the mechanical side of that.

I shall learn Shield and True Strike from Max. Taking 10 on the rolls.
---With the New Group Arriving---
Golwen looks up from his notes, in the midst of copying a spell of Max's, he uses magic to clean the dust and dirt, and then straighten his clothing to near perfection. "Greetings new comers, you are here to join us in exploring these lands, then? Splendid to hear, quite so in fact." Looking from Makoa to Pyros. " With muscles like those and skill with a blade, I'm sure you both will be most exceptional a additions to our party. I am Golwen Unduval, a Taldurn Conjurer. Most pleased to meet you."

---Towards the End of the Week---
"With Ilamin nearly ready, I find myself in agreement with Azul. Without any leads these disturbing dreams are hard to do much about for the time. We should be certain to keep our eyes, ears, and minds open and observant though while we do a systematic investigation of the area. That seems the best way to me."

Are there any relevant checks to the dreams worth rolling?

---With Ilamin Up---
Golwen finds himself [ooc]from a strictly IC standpoint a little uncertain about Makoa's apparent tearing of limbs. He does his best not to judge too much though. Perhaps that is common for him... or maybe I am just misunderstanding. But tearing off someone's limbs? Surely just stabbing them is simpler?

It would seem we.might need to take up the offer for that potion it seems. Not a great deal but the urgency of Ilmans situation changes the Calculus a bit, don't you all agree?

Happy to pool my gold and let Golwen feel rich. So not could tonight any expenses, is that 640 per person from Olegs And back? I got a little behind on tracking my wealth :/. Also how does a Wand factor into that?

"stay strong Ilamen, I shall help! lacking My knowledge of medicine Golwen uses predigitation to help cool Ilamens clothes, doing his best to keep him comfy.

Absent mindedly in response to Ryker:
I never heard what Sir Andreas theological preferences were. A Pharasman seems as good as any in this case, it.would at least keep our bases coverered. I'd happily help with a Desnan burial as well if needed. I have some knowledge of those proceedings, nothing official, just what I've read.

Golwen awakens shocked to the recent death. It was one thing to walk near it, and another to wake up to it surprised. What had happened, how had he not noticed Andreas or Ilmamin's condition the night before. Golwen sent a prayer to Desna asking for Andreas soul to have safe travels and that she put in a good word with Pharasma if she got a chance. Saying his goodbyes to his short-lived companion, Golwen uses his magic to help clean the body before the wrap it for travel.
In Draconic he looks at the Kobolds and firmly says No. No Eating... Please?"

I'd rather see what's around but if we are going to see to a proper burial I suppose the quickest route makes sense."

Wow, what a weekend!
Golwen watches with a mixture of interest as the events unfold, his mood approaching horror as Azul smashes the statue, turned to awe as things go their way. He mutters to himself as the Kobolds cheer on their new shiny one.
"Should have known, it is like Magister Markus said, 'those who accomplish great things do so with sweeping gestures. Those same people could have ended up at the bottom of history though had their gambits not paid off." Golwen wasn't sure what to take from the lesson. Didn't sound wholly instructive to him beyond risk taking was a necessity for great success.

As things die down he follows with the others. [b]I uh, well, this is a bed for the night I guess." ]i]Goddess, if this is what you will, I guess I shall partake...[/i] He did his best to look at the positives of the situation, there were many.

I shall sleep over here... I think. Well spoken, Azul the Shiny One, and Sir Andreas. Now good night.

If I need to take a watch, let me know. Though no too early, magic needs a clear head."

Golwen nods off into well deserved sleep.

With all healed and the dust settling, Golwen wields a lower tier spell over himself a few times to clean and primp. Presdigo Then he snaps his fingers to light his pipe, and find a temporary seat.

Puffing on his pipe, he eyes his once fallen teammates to make sure they seem okay enough, before looking in at the Kobold debate. To partake in the politics of Kobolds or not? Well, it's not really my business. But that Tiamax fellow seems a little... unsavory, even for a Kobold. I'd rather not deal with that chap any more than necessary.

He claps his hands together, partly for pomp, partly to clear the smoke that had been congregating by his face due to the lack of airflow. In Draconic: "Pardon the interruption my little friends, I don't know much of your ways so I hope I do not overstep my bounds. Though I do find myself to be wise in deciding what to do in a tough spot. The way I see it: we can't be doing whatever we want, now can we? I find Cruxis here speaks reason on his part. Shouldn't this be a decision for the Chief? What is the good of a Chief if you don't let him rule?"
Diplomacy if Relevant: 10 + 8 = 18
He puffs again deeply after speaking and waits curiously to see what sort of responses the party will get.

"Golwen, what 'powerful magics' do you have up your arcane sleeves? If you have more of that summoning stuff, try to do that behind their lines. Always easier to slip a dagger into their heart when they are distracted," he says while he collects his daggers and puts them back into his wrist sheathes. Once completed, he also makes a point of filling his quiver with any arrows lying around.

"I've got enough for one more good summon in me for sure, perhaps 2 if I pull out all of the stops." Golwen scratches at his chin, not because his chin itched, more out of habit.

"I will happily try and support you from behind their flanks, I've had difficulty finding my way close enough to do so without exposing my neck excessively. Though, I suppose no one ever got anywhere without taking some risks. I'll work harder to ensure such things happen in the future. Perhaps in the not so far off future."
He then smiles as if to try and add credibility to his statement. Though inside his head, Golwen has a brief picture of an arrow penetrating his throat. His hand moves from his chin, down, and checks just to be sure.
