Ouch - take your time to get things together. Stressing out about the game is the last thing you should be doing. Get your life together, and then if you have the time, come back and restart things.

On the flip side - congrats that you have more work and are getting raises/promotions.

I will most likely be around. I love this character, but I do not know if she fits with this party due to the amount of evilish/chaotic players in the group.

Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Suddenly realizing what the slime is, Ghae grabs a torch, or lights one, and burns any remaining bits of the slime that is one her. She then turns and also burns the slime away from where it contacted Talric.

This stuff is nasty. We need to burn it or freeze it to get rid of it.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ghae, still having no clue what the stuff is, tries to brush it off with her scimitar, using the blade to flick off the slime.

Doh!!!! -- that sucks.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ghae feels the drain and shouts:
Oh, sh!t, what is this stuff? And starts to brush it off.

Was there no perception check to notice the stuff?

I will be out of town this weekend at a Con in Nashua, New Hampshire. If anyone is going to be there, let me know. Posting will be very light, and possibly nonexistent between Thursday afternoon and Sunday evening.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ghae swings at the captain as he runs by with her club.

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Missing badly.

She proceeds to run after him, catching up easily.

How far can he run? I assume the stairs are difficult territory and it was a move action to grab the torch. If so, he seems to have moved quite a bit further than he should have been able to without some increased movement ability.

Yeh, I moved the light out of the way and then moved my avatars, then put the light back where I thought it had been.

You gonna make it to the con in Nashua next weekend? A friend and I are going to make a weekend of it, pretty much the only tabletop I get to play these days.

Talric - you can probably make a charge attack. At least I think so as your movement should not have been impaired if you moved before me and May.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ghae and May both follow after the captain knowing that his knowledge, or traps, will be something important to proceed further into the dungeon.

I agree 100%. A 30 second post informing people you will be gone for the weekend, or a week, or whatever is always appreciated -- and this foes for players as well as the DM. There is nothing worse than being in a combat and having the bard or fighter not post for 2-3 days. If someone is taking off, list how your character is likely to act, then someone or the DM can run the character to avoid big delays.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

No problem. I figure with 3+ people, he will have to draw an AoO even with a Withdraw action.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Not really liking the way this encounter is going, but not seeing any other real option, Ghae moves in and swings her club at the captain hoping to bring him down.

Attack-club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

I assume I can do this. I do not think the map has been updated in a while, so I do not know the positioning of people.

However, the swing strikes the wall on her backswing and never comes close to its target.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Glad you got it to work. Feel free to ask any questions. Don't know how many I can answer, but as far as basic mapping goes, I have decent experience.

Good luck and have fun.

Cross fingers - let me know if it works. Did you set your machine up to be able to switch between 6 and 7?

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Ok, read through a few list boards. Seems you can have Java 6 and Java 7 installed at the same time and choose which to run. You should be able to go to the site I linked above and download Java 6.

I have not tried this, but here is the Apple Support page.

Switching from Java 7 to Java 6

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Found it a different way. I am running:

java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609)

Pretty sure this is the Apple Java 6.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Hmmm, I do not seem to have a Java option under system preferences. Strange

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Hmmm, not sure whats up with that.

How did you find what Java you were using? I cannot figure it out, although I am pretty sure I do not have Java 7. Apple still has a Java 6 which they are supporting, unlike Oracle which stopped.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

To import a map:
Map --> New Map --> click Map -- then find the pdf for the map and it should show up on top of the grass

To add a grid:
Map --> Adjust Grid -- then play around with the grid size and x/y coordinates to try to get the grid to fairly closely match the grid on the map

To add avatars/characters/monsters:
- You can click and drag from the web, but I do not do this.
- What I do is copy and save the avatar or monster pictures from somewhere to a directory, then
--> File --> Add Resource to Library

For vision blocking (which I think is easier than Fog of War, although both are pretty easy:
- With the map loaded, and the grid if you want one:
--> Click on the fourth (Fog of War) or fifth (eye/Vision Blocking) icon on the top left of the screen below the menus
--> Once you have selected this, choose which shape you want. Personally, I have found the easiest is to select the Vision Blocking, and then to just make a huge square over then entire map, effectively blocking the whole thing. Then using the square, or another shape if it is a strange shaped room, hold down Shift and then click/drag to unhide the room you want to show. Next, drop in the avatars and monsters, turn on the grid and coordinates (under View), then turn on the Show as Player (under the View menu). Next, do -->File-->Export-->Screenshot as . . . I usually directly export to a Google Drive folder. Then go to Google, open the file and click on sharing, this should bring up the actual http address. Finally, paste this to your Paizo post. Voila, map available for viewing by players.

One thing I started doing is exporting each file twice. Once with a unique name - Upper Level 5.png or something. And then a second time as Current Map.png. This way, I can always have the Current Map visible at the top of the page for easy viewing, but have a record of each map should I want to backtrack.

Sorry for the long post, hope this helps.

Hard to tell, but here is a Java 6 update from Apple dated May 29, 2014. Perhaps it will work.

Personally, I am starting to hate Java. Invariably it slows my computer to a crawl half the time, so I usually just block it and only enable it when I want to see something. Results in some gray boxes on my screen, but definitely speeds things up.

Female Half-Elf Druid(Treesinger)/3 - HP: 27/27; AC16, T15, FF11; F+4,R+2,W+7; Per +12; Init +1

Hmmm, just checked. I do not think I have Java 7 installed. You might want to post an inquiry on one of the RP Tools forums, might get an answer.

I just upgraded to 10.9.4 last week. Seems to be working fine for me. I do not run too many programs other than the basic Pages/Numbers/Keynote, several browsers. I have had no problem running MapTools or PC Gen.

Here is a thought, try downloading one of the earlier versions - 1.3.b87 or 1.3.b86.

They are pretty similar. I am running the newest version 1.3.b89 right now without a problem. It is possible that it requires a newer OS X or Java. Try one of the older ones.

You have the Java 7 problem? I think there is a workaround. I actually avoided upgrading to the new OS X until last week to let them get some of the Java bugs worked out. I was worried, but fortunately my MapTools still works.

Hmmm, go to RPTools.com and see if the answer is there. There are a ton of very helpful people and a very devoted developer group.

If you can get it working, I find it to be very easy to use and it makes great maps.

With MapTools I can probably help you. With anything Windows related, I am pretty clueless. I switched to Mac almost 5 years ago and have never been happier. Before that I was working on Windows XP machines and hated every minute of it. I figure I would lose 1-2 days a month rebooting and reinstalling crap on the office computers. Since I went on my own and got a Mac, I figure I have to reboot, not reinstall, just reboot about once every month or two. A little more frequent, maybe once every three weeks, these days as my computer is over 4 years old and getting a little slower at times if I have 40 or 50 browser windows open (like when trying to determine which domain or bloodline I want to create a character using)..

Ghae's also narrow.

With your skill at lying, he would not need to cheat. You are as easy to read as a child found with his hand in the cookie jar claiming innocence.

She nods and May walks over next to her, branchlike arms crossed in front of it.

Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Attack-slam@purple: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Attack-slam@purple or blue if purple is down: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Not sure, but that might have taken down a few.

Really, I would have thought this would call for a perception check to see whether we heard/saw the barrels. It was not instantaneous like someone pulled a lever and the oil suddenly poured down on us from above.

Ok just erase the damage I guess. I wasn't sure if May ever went up the north passage, I thought you did a redo on that when you found out she couldn't catch up to the bandits. That's why I left it up to you to decide whether she should roll perception to notice the slope in the north hall here.

Sorry for the confusion. Ghae and May went up the North passage a short distance - here is the post. The post you used was after we were heading up the south passage and attacking, so I thought all the inquiries were about the south passage.

Just so I understand, the barrels were rolled at least 65' and stopped right next to us without any chance for a perception roll to avoid them. And then the archers as a standard action drew special arrows, lit them on fire somehow and fired them? Also, did you include a +4 to the AC of the barrels for having Soft Cover as 1 enemy, Tal & May, and Christoph and Ghae are all between the barrels and the archers.
