I am firmly convinced PF1 would be much more streamlined using something like Core rules only, perhaps allowing APG classes, and ARG races, but with no feat bloating.

Never tried Dread :)

I like that idea a lot Piotr - we'll keep it under wraps though. Who knows? Maybe one day I will play Garrosh again, and Ann can make a grand entrance :)

Soon after they arrived in Cassomir, Garrosh announced he was leaving - there were many holes in his memories, but a recurrent dream would not let him have peace. The death of his father.

He realized how close he had grown to his companions when it was time to leave, Ann's absence took a bigger toll on him than he would ever expect, and Piotr had become akin to a brother. Yet he could not rest until he returned to the mountains to set things right.

There was no real plan, just a rage festering behind his eyes which he needed to vent and see through, otherwise it would consume him.

The farewells were uncomfortable and awkward, as if they were not supposed to really say what they felt about each other. And so they didn't. And thus he left.

Unfortunately I think my time for D&D in general has probably come to a close, and I'm sorry that it entwined all of you in it.

Give it some time Mort. Sometimes all that is needed is a break ;)

It may sound corny, but RPGs keep your mind youthful and imaginative. Or at least that is what I think. Nowadays I spend more time pouring over RPG games, and marveling at the possibilities, than actually playing.

And I am giving serious thought to more freeform gaming, instead of rules heavy, or too much according to predefined plots. I think I enjoy it MUCH more.

'See you' around!

I think your reasoning is more than sound Mort - I want to thank you for being an amazing DM in all the times we played together.

It goes without saying - if you ever feel the will/urge/need to GM again, please feel free to reach out to me. I know I wasn't at my best with Garrosh, I admit I felt a bit detached from this game/plot for some reason - it might be the slow posting like you pointed out (even if I was one of the reasons for the slow posting after a while - I guess it is kinda like a snowball).

That being said, I shout out also to the players - Tiff definitely brought a new life into the game. My hat is off to you!

And Piotr you already know what I think about you as a player ;)

@Rose: Great character concept as always! I did miss Hanako though.

Mort, good luck with the new job! And please no apologies - you were amazing as usual.

Hope to see you all around the boards sometime! (I know some of you I will see for sure).

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

I have been slowly, but steadily cutting down on the amount of games I am part of - this game right here has had its ups and downs for me. I loved it when we started, but lost track of the story as we went along and did not really feel my character was too involved/part of the game.

However I think Mort is one of best DMs I have ever played with, even when availability is not at its best, either from DM or players, so I am up for continuing. My preference is for a recruitment, as I do not currently have the mental agility to play two characters :P

If on the other hand it is decided that we should stop, so be it.

Mort, your input is also very much relevant for this. I get the sense you may be feeling a little demotivated by the game? It is perfectly acceptable to just call it.

Piotr, how are you liking the Spiritualist? I have never played an Occult Class.

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

"Maybe I softened its will for you" - the half-orc grinned.

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

Talk nasty, as in intimidating the ship? :D

"Why is this damned thing still fighting us?!" - Garrosh growled - "It is as if it has a mind of its own" - he added, then turned to The Bloodwind itself - "Your master is defeated! Now yield and let us on board!"

Intimidation: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

And Garrosh is updated to level 8!

Took Friendly Fire Maneuvers as Teamwork Feat. Now I am regretting not having taken an Animal Companion - would have been cool. Love the Archer + Animal Companion vibe.

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

I am just astonished at the fact you can run for 7h Mort :O

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

"This is a resilient monster!" - Garrosh growled back at Tiff, and shot again.

Longbow 1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

With a snarl, Garrosh continues unleashing on the Captain.

Yep, Cat's is perfect ;)

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

Not an advantage for Garrosh I think - he already can put up decent numbers 'to hit', so being small sized will actually decrease his damage I believe (small weapon, less Str, etc).

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

Rose, take care also that you do not have too much stuff relying on Swift actions ;)

@Garrosh please give me edit access to the loot page, I've sent a request. There's also a number of items that I've identified that are not marked as what they are.

Also I'm taking the following items listed in unprocessed:
Spellbook No one else can really use it and it doesn't sell for a great amount.
Scroll of See Invisibility Selling this would gain the same amount of gold that I would spend on scribing it from someone else.
Scroll of Dismissal The DC will be crap on the scroll, better for me to cast it after I've copied it to my spellbook.

On the processed page I'm taking the scroll of fox's cunning that is just hanging out in a bag of holding.

The total value of these items are: 1870. Feel free to deduct from my cut of future loot. I just don't want these items to be sold off when I'm thirsty for spells to copy.

Done! Sorry for the delay...

Feeling they will probably need every edge they can get against the resourceful captain, Garrosh takes a moment to further study him.

Studied Target.

Then he fires a single shot.

Longbow: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

That would be the other benefit of a retrain. Hurtful & Smash out, Arcane Strike + Imp Trip. If I could do that over the next two levels, that might be a bigger help than what I’m doing now. (High DEX, so definitely better off with trip… I think.)

I think you are focusing too much on optimization and this specific fight, but I already said that.

I actually think tripping loses efficiency the higher level you get (because opponent’s CMD usually climbs fast), unless you keep up with a plethora of feats to boost it. So take that also into consideration.

In any case, it is your character, so up to you and Mort ;)

He is a Magus who had time to buff himself. It is normal that he has an high AC Rose. No need to overthink it IMO, but why don't you try to trip or grapple him instead? Personally I think it is more useful to have alternative 'attack modes' then simply stacking more and more bonuses to hit/dam.

BTW, man I love maguses... :D

Hey everyone, just to let you know I will be traveling from the 29th June to the 9th of July. Should have internet access, but doubt I will have much time for posting. Feel free to bot me ;)

Garrosh takes a split second to observe the boatswain in combat with Rose, then fires another single shot.

Studied Foe. Attack.

Garrosh retreats from his position, and fires an arrow shot at the same one Rose is attacking.

Is that the boatswain, or the captain? :)
Also we assume he informs the others about his knowledge checks, correct?
Last, but not least - is my bow still magically enchanted? From Winter's spell?

Casting Divine Favor.

Slide 20, correct Mort?

Gritting his teeth in a futile attempt to keep his fears under control, Garrosh nonetheless manages to fire two arrows at the monster.

Friendly reminder I buffed most of the party in this post.

Please note the spells I cast and your name:

Piotr: Bull's Strength - +4 enhancement bonus to strength for 16 minutes.
Garrosh: Cat's Grace - +4 enhancement bonus to dexterity for 8 minutes, Shield (via handing you a wand) - +4 shield bonus to AC
Rose: Shield (via handing you a wand) - +4 shield bonus to AC, Enlarge Person - +2 size bonus to strength, -2 size penalty to dexterity, +1 size category and all that entails.

This will be typical for when we enter a dungeon, especially a dreamland's dungeon.

Thanks for the reminder! :D

Garrosh does not own any pajamas so... He is garbed in only tattered underpants, and in spite of being very fit he seems to feel quite awkward. You are now able to see most of his body is covered in tattoos.

Mort, do we have the rest of our gear? :)
