RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"so there is some kind of cult, or this is some kind of mark needed for a spell."

RHP 36 / HP 36

I think garrick has nothing more to say. Though it has been so long i'll have to reread it all. I got the general feeling that his questions woyld not be answered in a solid manner and that this dinner will be a disaster.

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"solifugid? Dead person?

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"there is also the matter of the spider that was on his ship. Was that there with his knowledge? If he was to endanger this town, maybe giving this thing to him is not the best course of action."

ooc:
what does kaijutsu do for the town again?

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer ooc:
i dont have knowledge arcana, so i have to wait on what will be said

RHP 36 / HP 36

GM:
FYI i made up corundum (it is an Elder Scrolls metal, i just inserted it into Mror as the TES metal is dwarven specifically) and i don't recall if darksteel is eberron or some other DnD setting.

RHP 36 / HP 36

gm:

Just thoughts here, and not necessarily all of these are eberron canon

But you know what Keith Baker said about canon

redd-ish orange, ...............corundum, mined exclusively in the Mror Holds and valuable, though it also has ceremonial significance to Mror dwarves

Gold-ish (darker), ..................electrum
Gold-ish (oranger), .................aurum
Gold-ish, ...........................gold
Silver-ish, .........................silver or argentum
Silver-ish (more grey-white), .......mithral
steel-grey...........................darksteel

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer ooc:
so, almost literally priceless.

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"OK, so, boy called thief by man in black supposedly had something to do with the crane, no proof there. Then spider-creature burst out upon our investigations, then while i fought it you went back. and the ship caught fire somehow..."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"How? A spirit told you?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"You... missed... that? You knew it was there and went back for it?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Which was what?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Yes, I recall the blonde boy, I was hoping he saw something rather than just trusting the man yelling about a thief. My two interests are what really happened with the crane, if ascertainable, and what happened to you all in the boat."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Oh, I wasn't aware of why the crane toppled over."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"So the boatman thought the blonde boy a thief. How far apart were the boy and the boatman and the man in black and the crane? We need to know what made the crane fall, among other things."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"I see. Where was this knocking? In this port?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:

Garrick sits on a chair and listens to the halfling's story intently.

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Well, tell us what you saw that we could not see. I know your eyes can see more than ours. Then we must ask of you that which we don't understand."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"That may be true among the Talenta. But here, how you sound is as important as what you say. If they don't like what you have to say, they are sure to draw suspicion your way as you arrived at the same time that this incident occurred. So your words, coming from Satinder or I rather than you, would make the tale more believable, truth though it is. You'll find in these lands, at times, the truth is whatever the person with the most coin says it is. Furthermore, you have a colorful manner of speech that may confound them. If we know what it is you are trying to say, in advance, then we can smooth over the 'knots' of your idioms."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Yes, and as Satinder and I have said we have little to offer in the way of details, perhaps if you could tell your story of events that could fill us in."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
Garrick walks into the room and addresses the other two.

"So, let us pool our knowledge here and have a singular statement of events, so as to assuage doubt as far as what happened. I know what went on in the docks, but I am unsure what happened inside the ship..."

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:

Garrick likewise takes his food in the room, eating lightly from it, just enough to sate his hunger. He quickly bathes, almost as a matter of necessity rather than desire, before quickly putting his clothes and armor back on.

RHP 36 / HP 36

white deer:
"Well I, for one, am starving. However, I have a dinner engagement later as well, so I just need enough to tide me over."

RHP 36 / HP 36

ooc:
which Lt?

RHP 36 / HP 36

i dunno who the hell Garridan Viskalai is so i didnt say anything. i figured he was from someone else's backstory or something.

RHP 36 / HP 36

Can i get a recap of the questions i owe? Gonna try to funnel a little more effort into those. Dont raise your hopes though, lots of things going on IRL

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
Garrick nods in agreement.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"And I'd like to get our details organized before the meal tonight. Shadows, they'd want us to bring you as well. But, I don't want to walk in all disorganized. Facts, together, now."

His comments start to sound more and more like someone expecting their orders followed, though one might think this tone wasn't on purpose.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
Looking to Satinder, Garrick said, "Well, we'd better get out of here soon if we aren't going to discuss it here."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Don't take too long, we need answers very soon and need to close this case."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Sounds good. Well, what have we made of this investigation so far, barring that piece? Monster present on board, reasons unknown. Fight breaks out, monster causes the boat to catch fire, we kill it. I still would like to know how the crane got broken letting the monster out in the first place."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
Walking briskly up to the other two , Garrick asks, "Did you two find anything important in the ship before it went up in flames? And Also why did it go up in flames?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

they leave tuesday, but i will try to get short answers up by then

RHP 36 / HP 36

Sorry, planned on answering these questions but visiting relatives have really sucked the life out of me and the free time away from me.

RHP 36 / HP 36

Garrick tries to climb out, either by way of available ropes or any nearby ladders back up to docks.

Memories needed!

- Tell me about the first time your character feels they fell in love.
- Tell me a memory of an experience that caused you to feel fear.

i sorta skipped those two on purpose, i didn't feel inspired enough on those topics to answer them. no fault of your own, i tend to avoid writing about certain emotions, those two being among them.

"Either the splintered wood in the water or the runoff from the blood of the townsfolk... I'd say the choice was well-made."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"The first one was an event we were investigating. The second was on purpose to defeat the creature. Several men were sheared in pieces to even get it to that point."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"It belongs to Lord Kaijitsu, though I am currently under the assumption that the creature was not part of his planned shipment. Investigation is ongoing.

i forget. the japanese name guy?

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Well, Sheriff, the boat over there had this creature in it," Garrick says, pointing to the rhagodessa, "And it escaped. We managed to grievously wound it and push it into the water to put it at a disadvantage. Its body is still captive and I am not sure it is dead. Some crossbow bolts or spears sticking out of it would be mighty reassuring." he hints, looking to some of the watchmen just running up.

"Satinder went to check on the boat once more, following a halfling friend of mine. Which reminds me, some watchmen should go check on the boat as well to see what is taking Satinder so long. Men were ordered to quarantine the area to minimize civilian casualties."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Well, you get up here and we will wait around to see if it is dead. Nothing a long pike can't solve. Or a handful of crossbows."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Good work. . . dead?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
Garrick grabs the rope, lowering the loop end down to the man in the water. "get the loop around your body!" He shouts down, and throws the non-loop end to the standing watchmen and prepares to pull once the loop is around the man.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Get me another rope, NOW! Tie a loop in it!" Garrick yells to the dry watchmen. He looks over the edge to judge how far down the man's hand is. He will grab any other loose rope he can and lower it, if such is available.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
Garrick moves over towards where they are pointing, trying to position himself such that he can't be reached by the beast to pull him in, but will be ready with blade in hand to strike the beast when it lands.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

"Look, if one or both of you is some kind of expert swimmer, by all means go get him. I am not. And I wouldn't tell you to do something I wouldn't do myself."
