@Elghinn: only a few years? Don't forget, we've still got ACG class MCAs and the eventual 4ed class ripoffs to do MCAs with.
@Apraham: The Crow Druid bring nostalgia-memories of Warcraft 3. I'd like to work on that one when your turn comes up.
The Battlefield Chirurgeon is pretty much done, I think.
Damn, this looks awesome. Though, Adamantine is associated with Dwarves, and Mythril is associated with Elves. These races have an extremely deep-set rivalry in almost all fantasy worlds. Who would make an alloy from these materials, given that their respective master smiths are of opposing races?
You could change the Eidolon so that it follows Swarm rules, letting it change size and stuff on the fly.
Heh... I was just thinking that we could perhaps make a homebrew race for the Hivemind as well.
Now I'm imagining this MCA Animating a castle and having it fight a dragon army... Count me in!

In place of Gadgeteer, would you guys want to work on a vermin-themed brood/horde style summoner called 'Hivemind', or perhaps a Wizard-type summoner who's replaced 'Summon Monster' with a scaled version of 'Animate Objects', which needs a little working on, name pending right now.
Both are going to be fairly difficult to balance and flesh out, but I know most of you guys are class-building geniuses~ *ears perk up*animate objects you say? Innnnnnnteerrrrrrrresting that gives me a few ideas, kinda makes me think of the dark thorn boss from kingdom hearts. If we're cats, and these two MCAs are a ball of yarn...
*snatches ball of yarn from Christos' evil grasp*
HIVEMIND!
Though the Animate Object thing could actually be super awesome, especially if we empower the abilities by getting rid of the Eidolon class feature...
*tentatively bats ball of yarn back to Christos*
D'aww, you shouldn't have. *insert kitty meme here*
I like the Hivemind concept and would definitely help build that. As I have attempted to establish, I am the Summoner MCA expert! Even though I don't like playing them very much, I LOVE the creativity they can inspire.
Oh, Ok! Why aren't they up on the wiki, though?
I tried looking at the Ambrose Knight and it said that I "need to join the Wiki to edit", even though I'm only trying to view it.
Elghinn, I can't access many of the MCAs on the Wiki. It says I have to join the wiki to do so.
Raider - I love your avatar.
It's almost like it's more efficient to work on one MCA at a time. Just something to think about, Elghinn.
EDIT: Crap, that sounds unnecessarily passive-aggressive, but I don't know how else to put it. Sorry.
I feel like we've been churning through MCAs really fast!
#Battlefield Chirurgeon
In the description for Medic Eidolon, it says the Eidolon gains one fewer Evolution point each level. It should say it has one fewer Evolution point than normal, to clear up confusion.
GUYS
I TOTALLY have an idea for a friggin epic MCA
it's Alchemist/Summoner and based off the Tumor Familiar discovery
essentially, one of the character's OWN BODY PARTS becomes the Eidolon. If anyone wants to adopt it, feel free; if not, I'll work on it.
so is there a talent that gives dex to damage for guns? Or is that not added in yet?
I just read up on bayonets - apparently they are Plug Bayonets, which means you can't shoot while they're attached. I was thinking of the bayonet mounts under the barrel of the gun, but apparently Paizo doesn't have this.
Perhaps as many as APG Barbarian has.
I like it. There should be a sniper talent that allows Dex to gun damage. If that happens, it will literally be the perfect class for my sniper character.
Other talent ideas:
-precision damage multiplied on a crit
-extra crit multiplier
-"Sniper Totem" line reducing Stealth penalties for sniping and adding precision damage when sniping while prone.
I am stealing the Focused Sniper for a character I'm running in my campaign. Let's get it started!
In that case, why not just list Amplifications as a first-level ability and say that you gain a new one every level? It feels like it's clogging up the list for no good reason.
I may not have much to say now, but I assure you I will be all over this thread when it comes time to critique/create the Focused Sniper.
Well, I pretty much liked everything about it, but there is a huge overload of stuff to choose from at every level. It seems like it would get confusing to bookkeep for.
A new thread would be good.
I like the class, BTW.
Trogdar wrote: Primal flurry sounds cooler. Primal Flurry... of claws.
YES.
The Thaumaturge shall be my next MCA.
Can a queue update be posted, since we appear to have finished two MCAs at nearly the same time?
Lincoln Hills wrote: You know, my animus (the other kind) against summoners might have been considerably less if they had been flavored instead as Animators, with eidolons that had the Construct or Undead type. ;) You can do that with an open-minded enough DM. Personally, I like the whole "it's pretty much any magical creature you want" angle they took. Of course, because the Eidolon is so much more powerful, I tend to prefer them in combat-lite games.
I would call it Flurry of Claws. It sounds cooler.
@Christos: Actually, I saw it mentioned in either the Homebrew forums or the playtesting forums here a few months ago. Apparently Paizo couldn't come up with a way to synergize the classes properly, but I've found a way - even though it's quite a departure from the original idea. The original idea was similar to the Witch - the Thaumaturge made a pact with some otherworldly being in order to gain power. However, the Thunderscape thaumaturge actually calls on ancestors to aid him, so... this is the resulting idea.
Apparently every Paizo class has an iconic character. We should start making those for MCAs.
GUYS.
I came up with a suitable Thaumaturge class! It was Paizo's official Sorcerer/Summoner MCA for the ACG, but they apparently scrapped it.
It's based around the temporarily summoned eidolon from my Bonded Warmage MCA.
Thaumaturge
Primary: Summoner
Secondary: Sorcerer
The basis is a Summoner chassis, switching out his teamwork-themed abilities for the Bloodline abilities. The Eidolon you summon is a manifestation of whatever fantastical creature you were descended from.
I was thinking that, rather than Merge Forms, the Eidolon gains the ability to use your Bloodline Powers as if it were a Sorcerer of its level, and it gains the same Charisma score that you have. You both run off the same 'pool' of uses of your bloodline powers. To keep that from becoming overpowered, you would gain the ability at 5th, 7th, or 10th level.
and, of course, the Eidolon is summoned for minutes/level each use, with a number of uses per day dependent on your level. (once per day at 1st, twice per day at 5th, three times per day at 10th, four times per day at 15th, at-will at 20th).
I like the 2nd option a lot and am actually going to suggest it to my GM now. A legitimate way to physically disable characters!
What happens with half-orcs, though, since they can enter a rage when taken to 0 HP?
@Ethereal: Don't forget that there's potential for a melee class here.

As a general thing, I feel like you should bring back the "fey focus" thing you mentioned earlier and make them into separate combat styles. As it stands, there are far too many options pushed into that one combat style. Each Focus could each give a perk, too, like: "Archery" focus would give you extra BAB, bringing you to 18. "Beast" would give your Animal Companion higher HD and give it access to more of your abilities (perhaps as a later-on Wild Trick) and give access to the Extra Evolution feats and various fun abilities. "Spelltrickster" could make the class closer to a true spellcaster. Bandersnatch should be moved to an earlier level or buffed and made part of the capstone.
Actually, if we run with this, then the AC could have a lower number of Evolution Points (let's say 12, equal to 3/4 level) for focuses outside of "Beast," and Beast will give it 20. Archery would make the class closer to an Archery Ranger. Spelltrickster would, of course, bring the class closer to a true Spellcaster. The base Goodfellow would pick a focus and still have access to certain goodies the other focuses get, and Archetypes would focus on the focuses more (heh).
The number of evolution points are tied to HD and HD is tied to effective druid level.
This is to say that every single Goodfellow needs to take Boon Companion or is a chump most foul. The Goodfellow counts as a Druid of level-0 for purposes of the Animal Companion. NOT A Druid-3.

I'm currently at the top of the recruitment for a fairy-tale campaign with my Goodfellow; so far, in the pre-game banter, it's very fun to make the faerie beast a foil of the Goodfellow.
My bad, I linked it wrong. Try again.
@Spidre: she isn't really a monk, she can just punch hard and pin things down. She is ALREADY chaotic neutral.
@Doc: She's already Chaotic Neutral, so it's fine.
Neils D. Lafont wrote: Wait Wait Wait. Hold on a second.
Monks can't multi-class into Barbarian. Monks are required to be Lawful, barbarians non-lawful.
Which brings up a question: How the hey did we end up with a chaotic neutral monk?
The better question is: Since it's the only class remotely good at grappling, why the hey is the Tetori still alignment-restricted?

look at the stock art.
LOOK AT IT.
GREATSWORD AND AXE, BEYOTCH! Also tattoos and leather EVERYWHERE.
@Emmie, I suggest taking 1 more level of Tetori and then multiclassing into the Brutal Pugilist archetype of the Barbarian for two levels, thus increasing your defensive power when being grappled and granting you the ability to Rage.
@Shiney: Psh, I came in like two threads ago. If anything, we're BOTH late to the party.

Though I don't think I can attack with the weapon while I'm grappling something, not sure. I can always punch the enemy, though. :3 When in doubt, punch something in the face.
Or bite it.
Or put an arrow through its knee, crippling it permanently. For my size, it'd be far more effective to punch it, what with the 1d8+5 damage. =P Though, depending on the DM's ruling, I could take the opportunity to poison it with mah bite. Oh, this is shaping up to be quite fun! unfortunately, in DnD and Pathfinder there is a very fine line in theorycrafting - it's either fun or just bothersome. I mean, it's fine to optimize a given character concept, but some people go out of their way to make the most powerful possible thing. I.E. playing a pure GOD Wizard.
I want to join, maybe? I have a blank character I could make into an Alchemist.
#Monk/Synthesis
@Arkellus: I like that a lot - a nice balance of action economy and cost. It might be a tad bit powerful, though.
#Monk/Synthesist
I like the name Formbender suggested by OSW.
Red Velvet Tiger wrote: Gadgeteer, I was posting for Archpaladin, due to him wanting to be a royal. :P Well yeah, but... I was just tossing out ideas for interesting pre-amnesia backstory stuff for Arwyne.

Posting on Gadgeteer cuz I don't want to spoil Arwyne about this.
Wouldn't a Feyborn Gnome be sorta redundant? 'cause that seems like a pretty interesting run-in with the Heartless Queen if Arwyne turns out to be her daughter. Just saying. :P
I am intrigued by this beast and may or may not be planning to recreate it in eidolon form.
