OK so I'm really slowing down. I would like to keep going but I'm not going to be able to manage a once a day posting schedule. If that's not okay, I'll gladly bow out. It's been fun but I don't want to hold you guys back from someone who can better run this.

-Posted with Wayfinder

The party winds down and most everyone wanders off to their bunks. A few hours later as dawn breaks, the Wormwood's bell rings calling the crew to deck. On the deck you find the sailors and officers lined up.

The Captain addresses the prisoners "Any of you sorry sods want out of your bonds, take up with me and you'll be let loose. Step forward if you want to join the crew."

Several of the sailors from the Man's Promise step forward. Master Scourge cuts the bonds and sends them to stand with the Wormwood crew. At the point, Harrigan addresses his crew.

"All right, you scurvy tars! You’ve done a right good job by
me—we’ve got a second ship now, and she’s quite a prize from
the looks of her. But I still have only one crew. So here’s the
plan—the Wormwood will sail on to our planned destination
with our new shipmates here, while Mr. Plugg will pick a
skeleton crew to sail the Man’s Promise to Port Peril, where
she’ll be worth a pretty penny as salvage.

As for these fine fellows here" —Harrigan gestures at the
remainder of the captured ship’s crew—"some of them will no
doubt be worth a hefty ransom from their families back in Azir.
And for the rest, if the life of a pirate’s not for them, they can
spend the rest of their lives at sea!"

Harrigan grabs a sailor and throws him overboard. The many of the remaining sailors from the Man's Promise quickly swear their loyalty.

So I was going to give you the list of those chosen but the way its worded is confusing me right now. The PCs are chosen, as well as Kroop, Conchobhar, Rosie, and Sandara. I'll try to figure out who else is meant to come along. Grok is staying and anyone who goes to visit her, sees she is upset.

@Holgur:
You don't see much of use on the ship. You find a few hiding spots and backways around the ship. [ooc]+1 Stealth on the Man's Promise. The ship was a merchant vessel. The charts don't give you much better of an idea of where and no clue where you are heading. You know that you are in the Fever Sea, in the general vicinity of the shipping lanes.

sorry guys haven't been feeling well. i'm getting better but i just got off work and i'm heading to bed now. I'll try to get up early tomorrow and get things moving sorry.

@Jasmine:
"Sorry Jas, I don't sleep on that side of the boat." Grok says with a laugh. "I'm flattered though, I'll put it ta the side for ya. If you get the money come by. Long as the capitan don't decide he wants it, I'll have it here for you. " You take a look at the box of candles and can tell one is special but not much else. "How about a silver for them? "

@Mesdoran:
"You want what to what? You messing with me?" Grok says in a quizzical tone.

@Four did you find the price?

-Posted with Wayfinder

If you want to buy something, I would suggest doing it before you leave. At least stock up.

-Posted with Wayfinder

"That thing? Not sure why anyone bothered to make a dagger so nice. Uh that's about 2200g, I'd say. I'd give to ya but bringing in gold is why the boss doesn't mind if stuff goes missing in here. Ya got that kind of money? Need anything else?"

"Sorry, your gauntlets were the only ones we had in here. I'll keep my eyes open for ya. If we get one I'll set it aside for ya. Anything else ya looking for we got buncha armor."

I edited the shopping spoiler. If you read it already look again, minor change.

@Holgur I'll try to figure out where you are. As far as where you're headed the charts won't be able to help you there. The Man's Promise is a generic merchant vessel. I believe you or someone asked about the explosion. Honestly have no idea why that's including in the fight but it's completely irrelevant as far as I can tell other than some random pirate having burned himself a bit in the process which is amusing.

Grok turns to Jasmine, "Hell, I got a lot of sh!# in here, if you got gold. Ya looking for weapons, armor? I think I seen ya doing some magic. We got some scrolls and some candles. Ya magicky people use candles right. Eh, look around if ya like, there's a lot of stuff."

Shopping:

There's 6 trunks in the room. You can give Grok short generic shopping list(vague is better) for one ship action or look through a trunk for one ship action and get the full list of items in that trunk. You can use multiple actions to look through multiple trunks. If you were doing other things with your ship actions, I'll give you an extra action to do some shopping before we hit the next story beat. Feel free to Grok while you look, she doesn't have a formal list of the items but she spends most of her time in here. Feel free to make checks and use detect magic if you have it as well.

If you're looking for any generic adventurer's gear (rope, torches, etc.), you can get that without using an action.

@Jasmine You have time to look through three trunks. Grok pointed to a metal trunk when she mentioned the scrolls. She pulled out an old iron box with several candles to show you.

Sorry, I've been slacking.

@holgur Can you let me know what you want to learn from the charts?

@Four I want to give a bonus on the sell for friendliness w/ Grok but I'm worried if I keep winging stuff that isn't in the module I could mess things up, so in this case I'm going to say we stay at 50% sell price.

You can buy things from the shop as well. Grok will let you take a look around to see if you see anything you want or you can ask Grok for specific items.

@Mes You don't find anything of great worth, as the ship has been picked clean to bring the plunder to the captain, but get a general overview of the ship. You do manage to sneak some spices and such, as well as some nice booze if you want it. +2 to any cooking checks. I'll send you link with the maps when I've got them set up.

Well Holgur is looking for charts. In theory, you could use these figure out where you are but I wouldn't be sure where to say you are.

I can post the region maps, but the module doesn't state exactly where you are now.

As Four Skulls leans for in towards Grok, she puts him in a headlock. She whispers to him "Ya so eager for some fun, ya shoulda just said so. Meet me in the storeroom just after dark." She smacks his rear and walks away, holding up the clothes. Grok turns back to Skulls and says "What is this for anyway?" and continues to walk away.

Anyone know how strict Paizo gets on cursing in gameplay thread?

@Jasmine You have time for another scroll.

@Holgur do you just want a look at the map of the Man's Promise or do you want more specific rooms? (2nd option, you would need to roll 4 more stealth checks and 5 perception checks.)

@Jasmine At sea for 36 hours before the next thing happens. I'm a little lost on scribe scrolls, I'll look into it but you have that much time.

@Four Skulls Give me some time to come up with a good response for that. Should give Holgur.

@Balthe Do you want to get any deeper into the Sandara thing or just general flirting?

Gold is split, I know I said I handed it to you but that was mostly fluff.

The crew drinks and celebrates through the night and on through the next days.

36 hours of partying. You can take 5 ship actions or just party along.

Feel free to split the loot how you like, as long as everyone agrees.

Everyone is able to take what they want without being noticed by the officers of the Wormwood. The captured officer is unsurprised when her weapons are taken but struggles a bit with Four Skulls attempts to takes her clothes. Sandara throws the woman some raggedy clothes and she gives up the fancier set. "That fancy stuff won't do you any favors about our ship," Sandara says to the officer.

Mesdoram brings some food up from the stores of the Man's Promise. When they see the food, a chant of "BOOZE, BOOZE, BOOZE!" comes from the pirates and a few push past Mesdoram to grab the drink fromt the stores.

The pirates have been drinking for a bit when the Captain emerges and begins divvying up the loot. Riaris comes over to Mesdoram with several bags of gold and a larger bag. She hands it all to Mesdoram and says [b]"Give this out to your team. The Cap'n got some extra prizes for ya in there."[b]

---Loot---
475 Gold each
3 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds
1 potion of invisibility
amulet of natural armor +1

There isn't clear rules for looting these guys, but it seems like there should be some consequences for robbing them blind. I thought about just letting you loot everything and then having it be a potential problem later but this seemed simpler. Tell me if you don't like my solution.

@Balthe: Loot on officer: chain shirt, boarding pike of repelling, heavy crossbow with 20 bolts, masterwork short swords (2), colorful clothing set with small pearls. No gold, so you can take a second item.

@Mesdoram: In addition to fine ingredients, you find some well made pre cooked foods, and fancy booze.

@Balthe, I wasn't sure but I knew the math would knock out the officer either way, so I fudged the order of events for dramatic effect.

Combat Over Each PC has enough time to loot 1 sailor, taking any gold and 1 item. If anyone wants to loot the female officer, I'll throw the list up. The sailors all have the same thing as the first one you searched.

Through breaks in the fog, it can be seen that majority of the crew of the Man's Promise has surrendered or been. Those who haven't are being surrounded and cornered.

The fog clears and the remaining sailors are rounded up. The prisoners are paraded past Captain Harrigan and the crew of the Wormwood cheers. Harrigan nods as he sees Cog bring over the captured officer. Harrigan shouts "Fishguts, where's your boy. Have him find the food and drink on our prize, so we can celebrate proper." Harrigan turns and heads to his quarters and the officers follow him. Ambrose nods to Mesdoram before following Harrigan.

Harrigan is splitting the plunder, I'll try to do the math tonight on gold, xp, and items.

Mesdoram's attack knocks the retreating sailor down. Four Skulls misses the sailor and charges at the officer. The officer swings her massive pike at Four Skulls but misses and he strikes the officer. Balthe steps over and hits her square on her chin and she is lifted into the air and falls down, clearly knocked out. Cog runs forward and begins tying up the officer. He laughs and says "Nice shot". Sandara moves forward and begins tying up the sailor on his knees.

AoO:Four Skulls: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Map

Sorry, Should have uploaded the map before. Balthe, I'll assume you move to attack. Holgur, you would need to move to be in range to disarm. Getting in range would likely incur a AoO. The disarm would put you at risk, the disarm feature of the flail gives a bonus to the roll. The Improved Disarm feat prevents AoO.

Balthe hits the officer with a blow that clearly shakes her. Four Skulls slices the sailor in front of Mesdoram. Mesdoram misses the sailor and the sailor retreats past the officer. Mes and Four roll AoO.

Jasmine draws her crossbow and attacks the the officer.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Holgur draws his bow but misses the mark again.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

The officer retreats back to the center of the ship and mutters something and her pike grows. Withdraw. Balthe roll one AoO. Pike is now 20ft reach.

Cog and Sandara move forward.

Round 13 PCs go

Awake but on his knees.

Balthe drags the officer away from the boat. Mesdoram and Jasmine miss their targets. Four Skulls' attack causes the sailor to drop to his knees. Holgur tries to shoot the officer but his arrow goes too high.

Holgur's Attack:

Holgur Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Holgur Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Round 12

PCs can go

Ok should I DM Holgur?

-Posted with Wayfinder

Ok, I got a Roll20 link in the Campaign Info.

Round 9 and 10

Through breaks in the fog, the sailors of the Man's Promise can be seen running, hiding, throwing down their weapons and surrendering. For a moment, Harrigan comes up from below decks holding something red and throbbing in his hand. Any looking at him, lose sight of him when the fog moves and he is gone again when it clears.

Round 11
Three more sailors run towards the boats. Two are men, dressed much like the others you have encountered before. The third is a woman wearing finer garb and wielding a large boarding pike. She quickly orders the men to attack with a voice full of authority and begins trying to loose the boat.

Officer

Profession: Sailor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

The sailors move to the stairs on the order.

Map

Cog shouts She looks like a officer, Cap'n gives ya a better share if ya catch officers.

PCs can go. I'm kind of fudging initiative because I don't know what your initial rolls were.

Sorry having been feeling well past two days. Im at work now but I'll try to get my next post up during lunch

-Posted with Wayfinder

Round 8

Sandara shouts to Balthe "Hey big boy, how bout you and your friends get back up here. I heard Harrigan can be very particular about where people are during these things. "

-Posted with Wayfinder

I don't have access to that yet.

So what's everyone thoughts on talking in combat? I have my own ideas on it but since you all came in to this game with a different GM, I don't want to impose anything your not all okay with.

Has everyone been able to get on to Roll20 with their preferred device? If not, I'll keep making screenshots. Also, for some reason it doesn't seem to acknowledge that you all changed your display names in your profile. I think you need to go to settings tab in chat area of the map and change it there. If Roll20 becomes too much of a hassle let me know.

The dead sailor is wearing studded leather armor and has a heavy crossbow with 20 bolts, short sword and 15gp on him.

Tell me what you take but you may want to wait. We're still in combat, so it will cost actions. Any sailor you search has similar items to the dead sailor.

Yea it's getting to be a bit too common.

Jasmine doesn't detect any magic.

Round 7

The remaining sailor ceases his attempt to free the boat and drops to the ground, partly as a sign of surrender and partly due to his injuries.

Through the fog you hear the sound of a few weapons being dropped to the ground. Cog shouts "Oy bring'em up here, we'll tie'em up with the rest."

Map updated, let me know if anyone needs a screen cap of it.

Sailor 2 is still up

-Posted with Wayfinder

Grok looks down the stairs then puts a finger to her lips and mouths WE DID THAT and waves you away.

From above Sandara can be heard saying "Get back here, ya literally giant idiot. Explosions be damned, we got orders and I don't want ta see ya get the cat again.

Round 6, Map(on roll20 as well)

Through the fog, you still hear the shouts, clangs of steel, and cries of pain. It sounds like the battle is in full force for the moment.

From out of the fog, three sailors appear and begin trying to lower a boat. Cog shouts KILL THOSE COWARDS!, drawing his bow and shooting it at the nearest sailor.

Bow Attack @Sailor 1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 + 2 = 23Damage+Sneak Attack: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5) + 3 = 13

Lowering the boat:
The sailors need 3 successful checks to free the boat and each check is a full round action. They have one this round unless you take action to against the sailor who rolled well and wasn't killed by Cog. I'm not aware of a rule for interrupting this kind of action, so I'm thinking we handle it this way.

Successful actions to move or disable them will cause the check to fail, ie. grapple, bull-rush, stun, balthe picking them up by the head, etc. Attacking a sailor will give them a penalty dependent on the damage dealt, ie. 1 damage only takes -1 from the check but 6 damage takes -4. This is just an idea if anyone RAW guidance or just a better idea, let me know.

Profession: Sailor 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Profession: Sailor 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Profession: Sailor 3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Sailors who surrendered have been removed from the map for simplicity.

As Balthe opens the door to head below deck, he sees Grok heading down the stairs about to turn the corner. She turns and sees Balthe. Grok gives him a look that suggests what the hell are you doing here?

-Posted with Wayfinder

I'm going to move things along to round 5, if you have any specific actions for round 4 feel free to post them.

Sandara and Cog start tying up the sailors to the ballistae. Sandara sees Balthe flexing, winks at him and says, "Very nice but how bout ya help us with sleepers."

Just as Sandara finishes speaking, a loud explosion is heard below deck and the floor shakes.

Round 5

-Posted with Wayfinder

Everyone can take normal actions for a turn. If you take no action, just post letting me know. Also, I notice Sandara and Cog aren't on the new map or the old one. I'll add them later.

-Posted with Wayfinder

@balthe you didn't see the attacker. Harrigan hears Holgur and turns to the sneaking sailor slicing swiftly across his throat as Mesdoram's dagger whizzes by the attacking sailor's head. Harrigan kicks the sailor down and nods in thanks to the group before heading through the doors below you. Scrouge scowls at the party as he follows the Captain.

Ok guys just let me know which Roll20 person is which so I can enable you permissions to move the tokens.

Ok first post is up. I'll get the map updated later.

Round 3

After a few seconds which seem to last for several weeks, the party notices the sailors guarding the wheel are surrendering. As the sailors drop their weapons, the fog clears and the party sees Captain Harrigan, Grok, and Scourge rushing the doors below the wheel (just below B3)

I need Perception checks from everyone..

You can create your account with whatever details you want and change your display name later. I don't think they have support for aliases yet. Would you all like to use the token you have been using on the new map?

Click this.

This is the link to the campaign, try joining. Currently, I'll just be throwing a set of coordinates on the edges, but I'm contemplating getting the mobile support at some point. I still need to get tokens and what not in there but this is just sample for now.

@bill You can roll in Roll20 but you don't have to.
