![]() Initially, I see Wilderness Origins on the list in my Download Content but when I click on it, it disappears instead of prepares to load. When I refresh it, it appears again but the cycle is never ending! It happens over and over... Oh how cruel! I want to read it. Any ideas? EDIT: Went back to try again and it worked, for some reason...really weird though.

![]() As written, it appears this spell really helps two Bard archetypes with their sonic damage Bardic Performance (Sound Striker and Thundercaller). How? Well, look at the Bardic Performance option for this spell: Songbird
Spoiler:
Songbird
Source Planar Adventures pg. 44 School conjuration (good); Level arcanist 1, bard 1, cleric/oracle 1, mesmerist 1, paladin 1, psychic 1, skald 1, sorcerer/wizard 1, warpriest 1 Casting Casting Time 1 swift action Components S Effect Range personal Target you Duration 1 round Description You conjure uplifting music from the wilds of Elysium, Heaven, or Nirvana to bolster other musical activities. If you cast songbird during the same round in which you attempt a Perform check, songbird acts as accompaniment and grants a +3 bonus on that Perform check. If you cast songbird in the same round in which you activate a bardic performance, that round of bardic performance does not count against your total rounds of bardic performance available for the day. If you cast songbird in the same round in which you cast a spell with the sonic descriptor, that spell’s save DC increases by 1. If cast in same round (this spell is a Swift action) as activation of bardic performance, no rounds of such are used in that round! It really benefits the Sound Striker as each Weirdword costs a round...it would enable them to go nova for one round at the cost of a swift action and 1st level spell! Might this be why it isn't PFS endorsed? ![]()
![]() The new one from Planar Adventures. Here is what I know so far: I want to go with thrown weapons as I really like the Lantern feat style chain from Distant Realms. May go Scythe for Melee. Leaning toward Human for the extra feat. May choose Varisian Tattoo as a trait--bladed scarves and star knives proficiency.
Any experience or ideas are welcome! Thanks in advance. ![]()
![]() Yes, I play Skylanders--we own every single incarnation of it. Absolutely love Imaginators. I tend to like the senseis more than I like creating my own, though. Master Buckshot is my favorite. Sure would like to recreate some of his abilities (not so much race as he is a faun). For his Sky-chi ability, the spell Arrow Eruption may suffice. The feat Manyshot will have to do for the multiple arrows he shoots on every attack.

![]() I happened to be looking through my subscriptions and noted a large increase in the price charged for shipping July's Player Companion. Over $1.50 jump. When the cost of shipping equals more than 1/3 of the price of the item shipped, I cannot help but be concerned. Why is it costing so much to ship a book not even half a pound?

![]() To be honest, I am shocked there isn't already a thread for this one. Did not find any in a search...

![]() Highly recommend this! Especially for some of the archetypes: Prowler at the End of the World-Bloodrager (originally for Catfolk, nothing there to keep other races from it!), the Grippli Fiend Keeper-Medium. Form of the Naga spells and Warp Psychic Discipline are so much fun and avoid being overpowered. ![]()
![]() Our family recently started re-watching "Terra Nova". Such a good show--too bad it only lasted a season.

![]() If so, how? Here is it's entry from Melee Tactics Toolbox Spoiler:
Estoc
Source Melee Tactics Toolbox pg. 19 (Amazon) Statistics Cost 50 gp Weight 4 lbs. Damage 2d3 (small), 2d4 (medium); Critical 18-20/x2; Range —; Type P; Special — Description An estoc is a sword about as long as a bastard sword, but designed exclusively for thrusting attacks. Its “blade” is a steel spike with a triangular, square, or hexagonal crosssection. Like the bastard sword, an estoc requires special training to use it one handed, but it can also be wielded as a two-handed martial weapon. When you wield an estoc with one hand, treat it as a one-handed weapon; when you wield an estoc with two hands, treat it as a two-handed weapon. If you can use the estoc proficiently with one hand, you can also use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls when wielding an estoc sized for you with one or two hands, even though it isn’t a light weapon. Description says you can apply Weapon Finesse (though I believe you must have the Exotic Weapon Proficiency first?). ![]()
![]() Talking about this:http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special -abilities/sharding
Spoiler:
Price +2 bonus; Aura moderate conjuration; CL 10th
DESCRIPTION Restriction This ability can be placed only on melee or thrown weapons. The wielder of a sharding weapon can make a special ranged attack with the weapon in place of any melee attack. To do this, the wielder goes through the motion of throwing the weapon without releasing it. The weapon splits off a duplicate of itself that flies as if thrown by the wielder at the intended target. The duplicate gains a range increment of 10 feet for this purpose, but uses the same proficiency and otherwise functions the same as the original weapon. The duplicate vanishes after hitting or missing its target. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS Cost +2 bonus; Feats Craft Magic Arms and Armor; Spells major creation From the PC: Weapon Master's Handbook Now, my question is: Would Sharding enable an Investigator to apply Studied Combat/Strike to a ranged attack without Ranged Study? It uses a melee weapon that never leaves your hand... ![]()
![]() Both appear to have been created for a similar purpose: to bring light to dark places and use light to vanquish evil. However, which is more effective and which is more worth the cost? Yes, I realize those questions could have different answers. If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. I thought I was seeking advice...I am actually. Starbow Spoiler:
Starbow
Aura moderate evocation; CL 11th; Slot none; Price 30,400 gp; Weight 3 lbs. DESCRIPTION The silvery wooden limbs and green riser of this +3 composite longbow are decorated with rows of tiny stars, sparkling comets, and little moons. Arrows fired from this bow trail streams of silvery light, and resemble shooting stars as they fly. Creatures that take penalties in bright light take these penalties for 1 round after being struck by such an arrow. An arrow shot from the starbow sheds light as a sunrod for 1 minute after it is shot. A starbow responds to the strength of its wielder, acting as a bow with a strength rating equal to its wielder's Strength bonus. The wielder can fire it with a lesser Strength bonus (and cause less damage) if desired. Three times per day as a standard action, the wielder can use a starbow to fire a 30-foot-long cone of arrow-shaped bolts of radiance. All creatures in the area of effect take 5d8 points of damage unless they are undead or creatures harmed by sunlight, in which case the damage increases to 10d8. This damage bypasses damage reduction and energy resistance. A successful DC 18 Reflex save halves the damage. A creature that takes damage from this attack is shrouded with a soft radiance (as faerie fire) for 1 minute. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS Feats Craft Magic Arms and Armor; Spells searing light, warp wood; Cost 15,400 gp Nightbane Quiver Spoiler: Nightbane Quiver
Source Daughters of Fury pg. 62 (Amazon) Aura faint evocation; CL 5th Slot none; Price 16,000 gp; Weight 3 lbs. Description This black silk quiver bears a silver star-and-moon motif. It can transform up to 20 arrows per day into tangible beams of light. When drawn from the quiver, these arrows produce light as the daylight spell for 5 rounds, after which they disappear. Arrows enhanced in this way prove particularly deadly to light-sensitive and shadowy creatures—an arrow altered by a nightbane quiver bypasses the DR of any creature with light sensitivity and counts as a force effect against shadows and wraiths. Arrows gain these benefits only when shot by the current owner of the quiver. Arrows placed in this quiver retain any magical effect already placed on them. Construction Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, daylight; Cost 8,000 gp ![]()
![]() Hear me out: Alchemical Illumination is label as "Sp" and it allows the Investigator to cast certain light spells. So, would this make the Investigator a possible Arcane Striker? It seems possible to me, I just need to see if any of you see anything I do not that would make this impossible. Edit: Here is the relevant text regarding the ability in question:
At 2nd level, as a standard action, a lamplighter can cast certain light spells by burning a magic extract, infusion, or potion of a spell of the same or greater level than the light spell in a lit lantern or torch. If the spell has a range of touch, the lantern or torch counts as the object touched. The spell's DC, if any, equals 10 + spell level + the lamplighter's Intelligence modifier. At 2nd level, the lamplighter can cast light and continual flame (24 hour duration). At 5th level, the lamplighter can cast daylight and discovery torch. At 8th level, the lamplighter can cast searing light. At 11th level, the lamplighter can cast judgment light. The lamplighter need not have an active judgment to cast this spell, can choose what color of judgment light is created, can use his alignment for golden light, and can select any element for copper light. This ability replaces poison lore, poison resistance, and poison immunity. ![]()
![]() Change the text of weird words to the following “At 6th level the bard can start a performance that is always a standard action to speak up to one word per 4 bard levels laden with sonic energy. Each word deals 4d6 points of sonic damage as a ranged touch attack with a range of 30 feet. The bard adds his charisma modifier on damage rolls with weird words. Multiple words that strike the same target stack into a single powerful attack, applying energy resistance and bonuses on damage rolls only once. The bard can target all words at the same or different targets, but he unleashes all words simultaneously. Each word costs 1 round of bardic performance.” This change will be reflected in future errata. This is the fix for Weird Words in the Bard archetype Sound Striker. What feats would go well with this? Verbose Performer is established as doubling the range (though it costs two feats to get: Extra Performance and Master Performer).
I think Spellsong would work wonderfully with it: The 1st option where you make a perform check to avoid notice that you are casting...yet would you even care they know? You can combine spellcasting with the Weird words and blast enemies twice yet (deadly finale, thunderous drums, discordant blast, deafening song bolt, etc) and still have a move action left, if I am interpreting this correctly. If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize. ![]()
![]() This was one of my first thoughts regarding the spell Blood Salvation: While under the effect of this spell, you're immune to any damaging area spells you cast. You can dismiss this spell as an immediate action when you are caught within the area of someone else's damaging area spell; if you do, you're immune to that particular casting of that spell as well. If you have the blood casting class feature, you can cast this spell as a swift action instead of a standard action while you're in a bloodrage. Sure would be cool if the Bloodrager could safely cast Detonate (i.e., not take damage!) with this spell active. What do you think? ![]()
![]() Lyric Spell
I thought this was a great feat in 3.5, but perhaps TOO great--like nearly broken (if not completely!).
Might need some tweaking, but I think that is the essence of what I am trying to achieve. Personally, I think it makes some of the Finale spells a bit more useful when using Performance rather than a Spell slot (Deadly Finale, for one!). ![]()
![]() Mine? It's tempting, but not 'important' enough. Too many of the spells I'm interested in I have in other sources. Others make me scratch my head and wonder what were they thinking!
