New Pathfinder Player Companion releases!

Anthropomorphic animal races have been a staple of fantasy gaming for decades, and Pathfinder Player Companion: Blood of the Beast presents all the tools you need to play members of some the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game's most iconic bestial races. Packed full of character options for members of all classes, as well as some that members of other races can adopt, Blood of the Beast is sure to spice up any campaign!

Inside this book, you'll find:

  • New class archetypes including the tengu jinx witch, the catfolk serendipity shaman, the grippli war painter, and the vanaran fortune-finder.
  • Exciting new feats to accentuate beast-blooded races' inherent abilities, such as ratfolk's swarming ability and kitsune's shapechanging trickery.
  • Dozens of new spells, alternate racial traits, and favored class bonuses to customize characters of all stripes.

Take a look at the rest of the Pathfinder Player Companions we carry on paizo.com!

Highly recommend this! Especially for some of the archetypes: Prowler at the End of the World-Bloodrager (originally for Catfolk, nothing there to keep other races from it!), the Grippli Fiend Keeper-Medium. Form of the Naga spells and Warp Psychic Discipline are so much fun and avoid being overpowered.

I highly recommend this book as well! The character options within it are all extremely useful and flavorful. Plus, around half of the stuff within the book can be used by other races if they meet the prerequisites.

Working on it (slowly). ;-)

Reaper and Stonehaven have some good Tengu minis. Stonehaven also has Grippli (albeit very small) and a couple of Kitsune. Reaper also has some nice Kitsune coming eventually.

Sadly off hand I only know of one mini that would work for a Vanara. Valient Enterprises has a pretty good monkey man, but that's about it off the top of my head.

Zombiesmith's Kami Tale line has some really neat kitsune miniatures! They're the "Moera" faction in the product lineup.

I recommend any number of books that describe regions these humanoids frequent.

Thank you for the advice!

Exo-Guardians

I'm currently using a modified Dark Sword miniature for my Kitsune Skald in PFS. Just had to do a weapon swap, I think they have frog people as well.

Silver Crusade

Looked this book over in the local store, but still waiting to see what ends up being PFS legal before buying it.

I have a boon that lets me play a grippli in PFS, and I really like the fluff of the Fiend Keeper Medium archetype. Medium is a class I've been looking at lately, because I like the concept. But it's a poorly designed class, so it's hard to come up with viable adventuring builds, other than strength based Champion builds, and gripplis have -2 strength. I'll have to give that one some thought to come up with a decent build, under the assumption that this archetype will be PFS legal by the end of the year.

Also glanced over the kitsune, tengu, and nagaji options, and found a few things I might want to try out. As long as PFS doesn't reject most of the book, I'm sure I'll pick up a copy in a few weeks.

I'm awaiting arrival of my order, and hoping that there are some things I can do with tengu because, well, that's a thing for me...

You may want to make a Tengu Witch...yes, the archetype is THAT good! Fun!

This is a thing I am anticipating eagerly.

What is the name for that archetype? pre-downloaded the datapackage from HeroLab while waiting for it, but can't seem to find it?

It's called Jinx Witch.

Thank you! Wasn't coming up because all resources are greyed out due to the AR not being updated...

Im still unsure, simply because Im uninterested in the majority of the races covered and I just cant see there being enough for Grippli to make it worth it for me.

Even if PFS does reject a lot of stuff, I want to try out a lot of stuff in this book in my non PFS games.

Although I will admit that I am eagerly awaiting what PFS makes legal in here. I have a few builds ready and waiting on this book.

I don't care about any of these races, but very little of this material is locked to the races. If you accept the given background story for the mechanics then it would be challenging to refluff some of it, but you can just completely ignore that stuff and redo it if you want.

Unfortunately, this likely also means that much of that material will not be all that applicable. If I see the book in a store, I'll check it out and see for certain, but I really have not cared for a great deal of the products this last year, nor just about any of the "Blood of" books. But, as I said, if I ever see one in store and check it out myself, my opinion may change.

Me, I have the opposite problem: I have not been able to find any reason at all to discontinue my Player Companion Subscription! So many new and creative ideas EVERY month! Fun!
