OCC: Wow Velrek the Vet ;-)

OCC: Okay having read through all that and checking Map 1 -- it seems we started in C18 Throne then checked C20 Bedroom then left C18 and then opened C19 Larder then to C14 Tower then left C14 checked C13 Barracks then checked (no number) stairs going down. Then moved through C10 until getting to C12 Stairs Up (aka Tower?) then moved north to C15 Courtyard then opened C17 Horse --- however we walked right by the door to C11 and not sure why we did not check the second set of stairs up as we did before most likely another Tower as I denoted.

Evesk will have been semi-vocal and quite agreeable with killing the chief. His hate for him (or Goblins in general) has been pretty evident.

Other than that Evesk would have brought up the rear as usual so I have seen nothing else where he would have been of a great assistance as he would not have healed the chief.

Evesk continues to work with the group, ready to dispatch the Goblin should it do anything he deems as dangerous or if it makes any attempt to escape.

Okay folks finally got the time and a place I could post. First I moved and now my internet provider is only giving me partial access to internet and most of what I can get to is not something I want to get to and most of what I want or need to get to I cannot get to. They fixed it for about 1.5 weeks but then it went back to being an issue. They have now decided it is my hardware and will do nothing more until I can prove it is not my hardware. Highly annoying since nothing has changed with my machine but there router (and its replacement) are new elements.

This means I have limited access to the internet (gmail, youtube) and when I would usually post is when I cannot get onto Paizo (due to the limited access not allowing me to get to this site). I have taken part of a day to come to the library to put this information out.

As a player I would be sporadic at best but would still be willing to be a player just not sure how often I could post until I get my home machine fully operational.

OCC: Well here is hoping for the best ;-)

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Damage: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + (5) = 10

Evesk works on the remaining pesky Goblin without holding back. He has no desire to let this thing survive to cause anyone else and grief.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Personally I find, alternate actions within the extremely short time period to be metagaming. Because frankly, the opponent does not collapse so fast that another person attacking them would even notice that they were going down and that just means the target is even more dead than they were before.

Just keep in mind, the character is in a chaotic battle trying to make sure someone is not going come up behind them and knife em in the back -- while trying not to get hit by the opponent(s) in front of them -- while also launching an attack at an opening in their opponent's defenses.

Again, frankly in IMHO a character does not have time to adjust their actions until after that round of combat is over -- however in a more interactive venue I allow players to make a Reflex Save if they wish to react to an immediate event -- otherwise I wait until the end of the round to make updates to the opponents which is also the same guideline I apply to the monsters.

Still everyone GM has their own style and I am good with whatever they decide to do.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

With a small crowd around the Goblin leader and another Goblin still mostly unoccupied Evesk heads over to it and proceeds to engage it.

OCC: Evesk heads over to Goblin 6

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Damage: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + (5) = 10

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Finally having dealt one of these vermin a serious injury, he is pleased but also seeing these creatures are falling he tries to incite them a bit more so they will not give into their more cowardly natures, he then speaks out vehemently in Goblin as he continues to attack.

Goblin:
"Every one of you worthless dregs will be left for the maggots and that is too good for your kind. Even if that means hunting your miserable foul smelly bodies down should your deep seeded cowardess rise to the surface like the scum it is." He proceeds to use a few other choice Goblin phrases in an attempt to enrage them.

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Evesk feels anger at himself welling up inside, its a stupid little Goblin he has killed many of these despicable vermin why is this one being so difficult. "Die like you ought to you piece of waste!"

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Damage: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + (8) = 13
OCC: In case you can Ace damage rolls
Ace: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Evesk is getting rather annoyed at how these desplorable small creatures keep avoiding his swings and is more determined than ever to make one count.

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 2

OCC: Well dang Evesk is just doing rather miserable in the hitting the bad guys department.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Evesk growls as Goblins step up to get in his way, but he is more than happy to dispatch these loathesome dregs. Still he tries to maintain enough control to accurately attack but sadly still does not manage to hit these agile little vermin.

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Wild:: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Well only because that Goblin chose to got in his way ;-)

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

As the normal methods of healing made it such that magical healing was not needed, Evesk retains his magic for later when it might greatly needed. He has a sense that they will face more goblins, and he looks for killing more their despicable kind.

When the Goblins unleash their attack Evesk will charge forward to engage whatever Goblin gets in his way to get to the Chief.

Attack: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Damage: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + (5) = 6

OCC: Note as always Evesk brings up the rear he has no issue with sharing that with Johhann but he will not let Johhann behind him.

As for the maintaining that spell, with only a single Goblin left he would see no reason to maintain it.

In the future GM if I have not posted in a couple of days please ghost my character as you feel best and again my apologies for not saying something sooner.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Sorry everyone for my long absence started a new contract and it had 2 weeks of fairly intensive training -- oh and while the class was only 3 hours per day, the 3 hours of independent work per day turned into like 9 hours (or perhaps more) of independent work. It didn't help that I had to spend catch-up time for the 1st 2 days that I had missed. Still got it all completed yeah.

However, due to how late I joined this specific contract I only had 9 days left of the contract and I be needin mo munnee or me wife was gunna hit me with an iron skillet. So then I spent 9 days of working from 9am to 11pm with somedays being nearly busy all day as the calls would exceed my scheduled breaks and therefore I would miss the break. Still it was enjoyable and hopefully nets me enough money to help cover various expenses that we have for a bit.

Of course now I have a lot of catch up to do -- I hope the GM ghosted me in my absence and again my apology for not posting a note about this earlier but I was always so tired at the end of the day I went straight to bed -- just do not have the same stamina that I used to have when I was much younger.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Has been and is now "Going on Hold"

Evesk calls out to others, "Okay if that Goblin exits this side I have it covered, let me know if you need me over there." He then stands watching his side of the hedge in both directions for any sign of movement.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: My most sincere apology, I surprisingly missed reading those specific replies and I am not sure why my eyes did not register those words at all. I will post something a bit later I have some things have to do this afternoon.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OOC: I still have gotten no feedback on my trying to hack up the hedge -- and since it seems to make no difference then Evesk will just continue to attempt to thin out the hedge on the backside of where that Goblin slips into the hedge.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Also did Evesk make any headway into that hedge wall last round.

Evesk continues hacking at the hedge wall in his attempt to drive the Goblin hiding within it out.
Fighting: 1d12 ⇒ 1
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Total: 6+4-2 = 8 raise

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

With the cowardly Goblin appearing to be the worst of their two opponents Evesk eyes and gauges where the Goblin stepped back into the hedge wall and then moves to approximately the opposite side would be in case the Goblin is stepping through the hedge row rather than into it. If he does not see the Goblin then he will start hacking at the hedge row at approximately the backside to perhaps help chase the Goblin out the other side.

OCC: So is the Goblin there and if not do I make an attack roll against the hedge?

Atk: 1d12 ⇒ 1
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Total 9
Dmg: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (1) + (2) = 3

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Crastor you used the wrong Fighting Die you should have used a 1d12 not a 1d8 due to the bonus given to you my Evesk.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Okay yeah I meant to increase everyone's Fighting ability forgot the governing trait only effects the skill trait when you first take the skill trait. Thanks for that guidance.

As for actions, in the first round (where I was not in an initiative order) I was basically taking a moment to see what was happening and double checking nothing was coming from my direction. So definitely nothing overly effecting.

Then during the first real Action round when my initiative came after the Cat and the Druid I did my action in the appropriate order. I am okay with the spell taking affect at basically the beginning of the next Action round as that makes it easier to count the 5 Action rounds it takes place during. That being said I am ready for the next Action round where I go after the Goblin but before the Cat.

I hope that gets back on the same page if we were not and if we were on the same page great then it is just clarification that we were.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Evesk seeing the situation decides the best course of action is to aid his allies first, he calls out to Iomedae to bless them with fighting ability.

OCC: Cast Boost Trait on Evesk, Crastor, Jzero, Johann, and Velrek -- raise Agility by 1 die or 2 with a raise -- this uses 5 PP

Faith: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Spend Benny to Reroll Trait
Faith: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Ace: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Total: 9 (raise)
Evesk, Crastor, Jzero, Johann, and Velrek Agility increases by 2 die types for 5 rounds

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Okay so from Evesk is standing guarding the rear he can see what is going on -- Yes No?

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Oh you called it Explosion rather than Ace got it. I thought the explosion was an effect of the spell.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Castor you Aced that second Wild Die

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Well it is not like we are rolling a d20 with a +4 To Hit but a much smaller die where the -2 is much more severe. I mean if you are rolling a d8 that would equate to -5 with no bonuses on a d20 but with you needing a 11 or better to hit thus requiring you roll a 16 or more on the d20

So not so surprising really.

While I commend Castor I see no reason to just keep saying that Evesk is just standing guard.

Not a complaint just why I have not posted is all.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Evesk remains standing rear guard as there was no telling where those other tunnels lead to that they had past on their way here or if there was anything in that hole that might come up.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Seeing the Goblin Mutated Rats Evesk was tempted to just wade in and start dispatching these abominations but then the others started using missile weapons and he saw the wisdom in this and with Crastor guarding one direction Evesk decides it would be best to set up and guard the opposite direction. Still he is hoping he will find a Goblin soon as just knowing they are nearby has his blood at a slow boil.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

OCC: Well I am more inclined to change things and go the way we intended to go, provided that does not cause an issues. Okay so yeah we the players (not characters) are aware of what is immediately in that other direction but since nothing happened there we could as players simply ignore that and the map could be corrected.

However, I am willing to leave it up to the GM as to what they do -- allow us to go in our intended direction -- or change it and have us go in the opposite direction.

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Yeah but we still went East rather than West -- which is rather confusing -- hopefully that will get straightened out ;-)

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

Crouched over, Evesk looks in the direction that Velrek is pointing and then says, "There is no guarantee that will lead all the way to the beach, but that direction seems about as good as the other two, so yeah let us go that way first."

Male Aasimar (Native Outsider) Paladin, Parry: 8 (2 Shield), Toughness: 9 (3 Armor), Wounds: 0, Fatigue: 0, Low Light Vision, Aura of Courage (All Allies 60ft +1 vs Fear), Bens 4, Pwr Pts 5 / 10

"So do we hack are way through that mass or is there perhaps another way to get passed it that is less arduous?" Evesk says questioningly but not at anyone in particular. He does not look forward trying to hack through all those brambles, briars and thistles.

Does Evesk still have the flaming long sword?
Also I thought the backstory was she burnt down the old church killing the priest in doing so and the new cathedral was built atop it? Church vs House makes no difference to me mind you, just curious is all. I mean yeah she could be hiding some of the facts as well.
Other than that, ready board.

Oh and GM feel free to add another level to this dungeon if you like ;-) it does not necessarily lead to no where -- which I am assuming is the case based on your statement about us being done here.

Note if you cannot do any actions in a round except Recovery and you successfully recover are you saying that you can now do actions in that round if you made the Recovery roll?

I was under the impression that if you are Stunned and can do no actions except Recovery for that turn that it means in that turn you cannot get up from being Prone all you can do is make that Recovery roll if you are successful you can act normally on your next turn.

Also I included those other items in those sections as a reminder of everything that one still has applied to them.

And again as I said your call is the one that counts and I am good with whatever you decide. Further, I quite like your rewritten version as it truly is less confusing.

Still I have a question in that last sentence did you mean?

Recovery: At the start of a Stunned character's turn, they make a Vigor roll (at a -2 in their first turn of being Stunned) as a Free Action. Success means they are no longer Stunned, and can act as normal on their next turn.

Or did you mean as you seem to have written the same turn that you made the Save?

Okay so from what I understand from what you have outlined (if I did not get confuzzled that is). Oh and I am not covering the Raise condition just the basic flow.
.
.
.
Creature Stunned
Distracted (-2 to all Traits) (last until End of Turn)
Vulnerable (Opponents +2 Attack) (last until Recovery)
Fall Prone (or to Knee)
No Actions (except Recovery roll)(last until Recovery?)
Creature Rolls Vigor (-2)

-------{ Creature Succeeds immediately }-------
Distracted (-2 to all Traits) (last until End of Turn)
Vulnerable (Opponents +2 Attack) (last until End of Next Turn)
Still Prone (or on Knee)

-------{ Creature Fails immediately }-------
Distracted (-2 to all Traits) (last until End of Turn)
Vulnerable (Opponents +2 Attack) (last until Recovery)
Still Prone (or on Knee)
No Actions (except Recovery roll)(last until Recovery?)

-------{ Repeat Following Until Recovery }-------

-------{ Next Round after Success }-------
Vulnerable (Opponents +2 Attack) (last until End of Turn)

-------{ Next Round after Failure }-------
Vulnerable (Opponents +2 Attack) (last until Recovery)
Still Prone (or on Knee)
No Actions (except Recovery roll)(last until Recovery?)
Creature Rolls Vigor (-0)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so with the Distracted a Creature is generally going to be Stunned for 1 full round as the -2 makes it pretty tough to succeed especially at our current level. However, later on a highly vigorous creature could actually make that first save even with the -2. So at our current level getting Stunned is not a good thing but we have Bennies to deal with that (yes/no?) Which if applicable would seem like a very good time to be using a Benny. There is also the chance of getting an Ace so another means of canceling it out early on.

So all-in-all I think while nasty at low levels it is setup to remain viable even at higher levels and removing the Distracted tones it down a lot. But that is just me opinion and yours is the one that counts.

OCC: Ouch a critical failure on a Vigor check versus being Stunned that is gonna hurt.

Vigor: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Vigor Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Total: 10

Just FYI as I can go with your call on this.

So yeah I know that the flaming sword in PF1e does not explicitly state that it gives off light but dang a candle gives off light and a sword on fire (not just red hot metal) would give off at least as much light as a candle which is as follows:

Candle: A candle dimly illuminates a small area, increasing the light level in a 5-foot radius by one step (darkness becomes dim light and dim light becomes normal light).

This is why I as a GM have always simply said a flaming weapon gives off dim light within the same radius as a torch which in PF1e is a 20-foot radius. So more effective than a candle but less effective than a torch.

Oh and yeah thanks for clarifying that Stunned Condition definitely need to auto remove that one if it drops which I hope is possible.
