![]() "You may have a claim on him, but we need Failin in one piece," say Escher calmly. "I hope we can work something out peacefully, but that is up to you." In order to encourage the peaceful solution, a translucent shield forms on one arm and from his other hand forms a glass-like sword. He wields it in one hand, though to most it would be a greatsword. ![]()

![]() He takes the steaming cup from the waitress. She nods, "Traditional goblin remedy." It smelled like coffee, but with a strange mix of spices. He could smell ginger, honey and more that he wasn't familiar with. On top of crushed dried pepper flakes and a fresh chili to stir it with. He hands over the potent concoction to Fiz. ![]()

![]() Okay, we either need to tone down the accents or provide spoilers with translations. I did not get enough to the last post to comprehend it. Was Fiz already drunk or did one drink do her in? Even with the size difference, this seems a bit quick. Especially this early in a job interview. ![]()

![]() Escher stands. One could interpret it as politeness. Or ensuring that he would be the first target if violence starts. He looks her in the eye, and says, "You were asking about employment opportunities with House Orien. This is Jacen d'Orien, and we are preparing for an expedition. We could use people who know how to handle themselves." With luck, the Orien we are here to meet is watching the show. ![]()
![]() My rule of thumb is that templates are not viable at all until the party level is twice the template's LA. Even then, it's pretty tough. In PF2, there are lots of ways to be draconic.

![]() "Well, it is good to know that the conveyance we want to hire is resistant to fire." says the ectoplasm-encased warforged. "But we should head inside. Maybe we could buy you a drink. I expect those will burn." Is this an obvious ploy to get the pyromaniac goblin away from our reason for coming here, or is it an excuse to get the new party member in where we can all interact more? Tune in next post to find the answer! ![]()

![]() I'm here, but I've got a lot going on in my life. My issue is that this game has spent a couple months just shopping. I thought we had agreed on this earlier, but it seems that we're back to this. If we can't speed up the simple parts, then I will bow out. ![]()

![]() Esher nods with Jacen "I agree. We might be able to get mounts to bring us near the area, but I suspect that only a master horseman could keep an animal from panicking in such an environment. Even if we could, I'd argue we shouldn't expose an animal to that." "But perhaps a wagon or small cart that one of us could pull might help with supplies. I've seen several street vendors with them. Eventually we might find terrain that would force us to leave it behind, but we would be at a full load." ![]()

![]() Escher wouldn't have gone so hard, but he does take note of their phrasing for future writing projects. Still, he's going to back up their play by letting his ectoplasm ripple and flow. It crystalizes into the form of a sword, which he lays on his shoulder. 1d20 ⇒ 15 ![]()

![]() "Got it." he says to Karsh'e. An adamantine-clad warforged surrounded by a glistening shell of ectoplasm was likely exotic enough to deter casual aggression. He wears his shield ready and chackram at his belt. He didn't manifest his mind blade, but adamantine fists would hit like a hammer. What's more, this attitude was his job. ![]() Escher naturally moves to the outside where he can protect everybody. "I do know the goblin tongue, but I'm not the best at dealing with people." He'll scan the sky to see if they have a dock for airships. He doesn't expect anything major, but it would make sense to have someplace to tie up. That would lead us to House Lyrandar. ![]()
