I will again apologize because of my delays. I promise I'll have the character (Seriously, I only have to finish background details and spend gold in things I already have half-way thought) Thursday. Work in college has been piling up because I keep leaving Future Me the stuff I have to do but by Wednesday I'll have a much needed break.
I will start working on it right away! Couple little questions that popped up as I thought about the other games I'm in:
One of the players coming through! I've been looking into Southern Gothic Horror to get the right idea for possible characters.
From Wikipedia:
"Common themes in Southern Gothic literature include deeply flawed, disturbing or eccentric characters who may or may not dabble in hoodoo, ambivalent gender roles, decayed or derelict settings, grotesque situations, and other sinister events relating to or stemming from poverty, alienation, crime, or violence." Add to that the supernatural themes from Deadlands, and correct me if you are aiming for a different vibe, we'd end with something like a 19th century mystery and horror movie directed by Tarantino, perhaps Guy Ritchie with less comedy, or something of a historical 'episode' of Supernatural set in the 19th's south. I wanted to put my -possibly wrong- vision of the game to be into words before rapid firing some early concepts and questions: Concepts:
-'Retired' (inactive at the moment would be a more appropiate term) Ranger. A relatively young man with already too lany scars, of body and mind due to an already long career. A gambler and high functioning alcoholic to cope with his demons, he got roped into the Army and later the Rangers because of the propaganda and an early sense of patriotism, stayed despite losing his faith because 'nobody else' will stand before the things that lurk in the darkness, and because he doesn't know anything other than killing things. -A former saloon worker of the feminine and renting kind, happened upon a copy of Hoyle's Book of Games. She endured the mistreating only until she learned how to poker the manitous, went full Carrie on her boss and the present clients and escaped town. She rode west and lived for a while as a bandido but when her partners in crime tried to abuse her, she repeated the play and moved on: this time to be a civilized bounty hunter with what she learnt. -The half-native son of a long lineage of hunters of beasts, of the regular and supernatural kind alike. Being trained since an early age to deal with things better left unmolestef, he ended a bitter and brutal young man more concerned about the thrill of the hunt than its purpose. A fine scout nonetheless, he's helped rich fellas before 'enjoy' the outdoor's pleasures for a hefty amount of money, and if they aren't fit to survive they didn't deserve it anyway. Being a half-breed with no olace to call home and a shitty line of work he is slow to trust others, but when he gets to befriend someone he plays mama bear and would rather die than seeing them in danger. Questions
Quick warning: I have decided to go for a bard instead of a cleric. The reasons behind my change of heart are simple. First, every classical party needs some good old style background music. And second, I wanted to be a support, byffer and secondary melee. I am already working on the background so it acomodates my character's complete and utter honesty... But I'd like to ask for another Quirk because they are great and help with inspiration.
Classic module with classic stat generation? This asks for a dwarven cleric!
Stats!:
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 4) = 9 Reroll 1s & 2s: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 Reroll 1s & 2s: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Reroll 1s & 2s: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Reroll 1s & 2s: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Reroll 1s & 2s: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Final stat: 3,4,4,5 -> 13 Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 4) = 11
Final Stat: 5,4,5,5 -> 15 Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 4) = 20 Final Stat: 6,5,5,4 -> 16 Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 3) = 16
Final Stat: 5,6,3,3 -> 14 Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 2) = 11
Final Stat: 5,4,4,3 -> 13 Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 6) = 19 Final Stat: 6,4,3,6 -> 16
And the array is 16-16-15-14-13-13, which seems simply perfect for a Dwarven cleric! Tentative stat allocation would be:
And now to the Second Level and theQuirk!
Question
Kassii the Bloodscaled wrote:
I would be very much pleased. Tonight I'll try to get together the not so barebones background and details so we can start working! EDIT: I just spotted JD's question. I sort of remember Loup mentioning a fighter type.
In any case and to provide inspiration here are some brainstorm ideas I just got:
Passing by to say that I am working on expanding and giving more depth to the background! I want to explore some of Lady Deathknight's (placeholder name, though it sure looks cool as an alias) siblings, former allies turned traitors and enemies turned killers... But I wouldn't want to mess with an already established House that Faceless may have plans for. Do you prefer me to make up a minor house instead? Truth be told I had already given some thought into such an idea but feel free to ditch it if it's overstepping into your worldbuilding role... Or if you don't like it, whatever is the case. House Ideas:
•Name: House A'Thalakx •Leader(s): Mother Amalica & Weaponmaster Caelkoth •'Income' Focus(es): Mercenary work, emeralds, smuggling •Brief Description: A relatively young and small Drow House, House A'Thalakx has under twenty noble drows but it is backed by a small, yet highly trained by the Weaponmaster, army of almost a thousand, consisting of peasant drows, half-noble bastards and assorted slaves. The House's income comes from an emerald mine they jealously ward as well as smuggling and mercenary work thanks to the Weaponmaster's connections, which he has due to his previous life as a pirate on the Dying Sea. As for Lady Deathknight's "build" I am set on being a Stellbloodd Bloodrager as I have fallen in love with the class and starting at a higher level means I don't have to wait until ut really flourish. I am split between the Arcane Bloodline (because of its self-buffing, tanking and offensive abilities as well as the great measure of anticaster it provides) and a Water Elemental one, refluffed into representing the cold powers beyond the Grave. I will have it ready before Monday in any case, I just need some guidance regarding the previously mentioned House before I dive into writing backstory and connections.
I am not completely set on what my Ghoul will be, other than I want to be clad in full plate armor and be tough as nails, so melee frontliner. Options I am considering are Fighter with a focus on using a shield and demoralizing, an Unchained Barbarian with a huge hammer or flail or a Steelblooded Bloodrager (If I can talk Faceless into allowing a Bloodrager with Unchained rage, because otherwise rage is only half as useful for a ghoul). In any case, and if it is at all allowed, I was considering VMC Cavalier, with my Order being that of the Cockatrice.
Allow me to say, and this comes from the deepest parts of my heart with only the most pure honesty, that I can't pass on the opportunity to play a campaing set in the Underdark. Specially not with y'all people and when undead are available as a race. That said I had something of a crazy idea, one that banks on you allowing two tiny shiny teeny weeny things: Leadership and using the Ghoul race but being a skeleton. The idea:
I picture this gal, a drow from house Vexidyre, that happened to f#~# up by attempting a coup without making sure her 'allies' wouldn't betray her. Obviously the punishment was a long, painful and cruel death... Yet she returned by methods unknown as a sentient skeleton. Death has gifted her with an unsatiable hunger for flesh but also with wisdom: House Vexidyre are small time and time runs against them, she is eternal and can wait for the proper circumsssnces to strike then down like vermin... For now she is happy with hoarding gold, gathering power and a strong group of allies to act as an army when the time comes. And those are half the reasons she joined Clan Black Tooth. Now, why Leadership? Because the only ally that didn't betray her was a tiefling priestess, member of Clan Black Tooth, and the dark priestess is actually her cohort. Now outside people she makes sure she can trust and/or blackmail, they play the old 'Necromancer and her skeletal puppet' but in truth she is in charge and calling the shots.
And that's the idea. In truth I could easily go with a ghoul instead of a skeleton, but I like skeletons. A lot. And the Leadership part could easily be left out, but I wanted to mention it for your consideration. Aaaand I found an appropiate 'undeady' armor to accompany the concept!
For those that are lazy as I am, here you can find an easy point buy calculator for 3.5 (which happens to be the edition I play in my F2F games). Aubrey the Malformed wrote: - you have some reason to care about what's been going on at Sandpoint (maybe Aadvark's character provides a reason, but maybe not the only reason) First reason would be helping Sandpoint, but an additional motivation can be that Arthur is interested in ancient legends and lore (Thassilonian lore fits the bill) Aubrey the Malformed wrote:
Arthur is a classical hero, which means he would probably jump into a dragon's maw if a damsel is in distress... That's why I think him having been captured by Ogres and their pet hobgoblins on his way from the Mierani Forest to Sandpoint, only to be rescued by Tikrok and Lirrathan at the last moment, seems like a good story to share over a warm spiced wine. We can round the trip up with bandits, cultists and a magical beast and we have enough of a pedigree to join the rest.Aubrey the Malformed wrote:

Which he can't let happen. As for the 3.5 and underwater bits, the former only makes me ask 'Can we use 3.5 material?'. Not that I have anything in particular in mind, but there is always interesting stuff there. And the latter, well, I will rock a full-plate so I better invest spells or resources on that.
Well, I started writing a concept... Got carried away. Sorry. Lo and behold, several walls of text -and an early concept for the Too Long ; Didn't Read lovers- Quick and Dirty Concept:
Arthur, NG, half-elf steelblood bloodrager Half errant knight, half angry freedom fighter, full traveller. Bastard son of a varisian half-elf slave and her Chelaxian noble master. Deeply interested on ancient lore and legends when not bleeding out for noble reasons; also likes wine, music and sleeping like there's no tomorrow. Good hearted as a general rule of thumb, gets magically angry when poked. Longer Backstory:
Bastard son of a Chelaxian noble and one of his half-elven slaves, Arthur didn't have what you call an easy childhood. Only two reasons stopped him from growing into a cruel, bitter adult: force of will and his mother's tales. As it happens to be, Marlah -as that was her name- was a varisian Desna worshipper who worked as a scribe to a travelling arcanist before falling into the hands of slavers. She told Arthur of distant lands, great heroes and marvelous creatures... She taught him to dream and yearn for the roads. Arthur demonstrated arcane potential, possibly inherited from her mother, yet the lack of training or higher learning meant he couldn't conjure even the most basic of spells. As she was the only light in his life, the only reason Arthur hadn't tried to escape their master, when a terrible fever took her from this world Arthur travelled as a stowaway from Kintargo to Nisroch. Free from his master but not their influence in the shadowy kingdom, Arthur followed his dream to travel and see world, learning to fend for himself during his early steps but in the end becoming something of a knight errant. During these travels he learned to gather his arcane magic to overcharge his body, becoming stronger and tougher than most while disrupting magic around him, and with hard work he finally managed to use his power to produce useful effects. From Nidal to Mendev he helped those in need, forging alliances with others that shared common interests and becoming enemied with those that would abuse the meek, until he finally arrived at her mother's birthplace: Nybor. But Nybor wasn't his home, even if he felt Varisia was as close one as he has known, and he kept travelling the land doing what he thought right and opposing those who were wrong. The news of giant sighting around Sandpoint caught him on his way to the Mierani Forest and by the time Arthur arrived at Sandpoint everything have ended. Ten Minute's Background Additions: Known Secret: When Arthur escaped Cheliax, he had the opportunity to free others slaves... But he feared that could make him easier to track or catch and ran away alone. He still regrets this selfish choice and has since tried to never leave anyone else behind. Unknown Secret: Arthur's magic actually comes from his father, who was a wizard and diabolist. While he now uses it to help others, he would probably never have used it if he knew it from the start. Shame: Arthur is practically illiterate, having never received formal education and only having learned to read the Common tongue a few years ago, albeit at a slow pace. He couldn't read elven even if his life depended on it. Goals: Other than being a damn hero whenever he can, Arthur truly wants to see Celwynvian at least once before dying due to her mother's tales of the great elven city. Known People #1: Duke Arvaniel Illeoric. Father and master, diabolist and wizard, a complete jerk and chelaxian noble.
And I'm another of Aubrey's test subjects willing to chase the cheese and receive a shock! Before Aubrey told us you all were 11th level a couple hours ago I was preparing myself to read through your whole campaign and cook up an appropiate -perfect if possible- character to join you... But 15k posts are a tad too much to read on a sitting, let alone really understand your motivations and drivings without frying my brain by overload in the process... So welcome to Plan B: I intend to use Aubrey's idea to skip Book 5 and create a character that would accompany the party for whatever hellish torture he devises next, one that hopefully will get along well enough to stay with the group when you return to the AP even if he has no personal investment in it. I see Natloz is thinking a hard hitting druid, with partially covers both melee and divine... That's great because I can do the same and go with a 'tanky' heavy hitter cleric or paladin and also fill the melee and divine. Between the both of us we'll add up to one Melee and one Divine character, but in truth we'll be much more... We'll be Melee Divine Bros. Sooo only thing left before we start brainstorming -I appreciate any and all input- is knowing what kind of resources we have access to, special mention to warforged if possible, and the rules we should use to create the cannonfodder.
MrGompers wrote: One question tho, what does a "10 minute background" mean? Like it should take ten minutes to write it? Welcome aboard to the Boards, MrGompers! As for your question, Here you'll find a complete explanation and guideline to understand the method. Now back to the recruitment!
That's why I will be submitting an Exo-Cortex mechanic, part of a program to improve soldiers with state-of-the-art technology that later went rogue in order to find freedom of choice and action.
In any case, consider this humble mwatbag really interested.
Interesting setting, 5e ruleset and rolling for stats?
Stats: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 6) - 2 = 13
Well, I can't lie and say I haven't been waiting for a Ruin of Azlant recruitment that I do like. Guess what? This fits the bill just right. Like rolling for stats, specially with a system other than plain 4d6... I prefer it.
Rolls:
Epic #1: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 Epic #2: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 Epic #3: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 Counter-Epic #1: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 Counter-Epic #2: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Counter-Epic #3: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 The 7th: 4d6 - 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 4) - 4 = 14
Well, I didn't expect that. 18-18-16-16-16-14. Holy f&%$ing shit.
Despite being in love with Golarion System's planets and cultures, I am thoroughly interested by your idea. Gotta say I am pleased with what I already read from the book, but this being a newly balanced games with some quite drastical changes, bear with me if any character I submit ends being on the lower end of optimization. What can I say, you can't say no to a Vesk Soldier throwing nades and pumping fire via huge heavy weapons. Or perhaps is he a paranoid human with a deep fear of Scros?
Okay, I'll bite! Game concept seems solid, houserules and tax feat evasion are the tune I dance to... and to boot, I love rolling for stats. Stats: 3d6 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 1, 3) + 6 - 1 = 15
I will return after I iron out the concept I have in mind.
Well, you have my interest.
I will roll two sets and choose one of them. While I could keep rolling until a perfect 6x18, your rolling rules are already forgiving and I feel lucky. Set #1:
Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16 18 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3) = 5 Reroll 1s: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 17 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 7 11 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 5) = 11 Reroll 1s: 1d6 ⇒ 2 16 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1) = 7 Reroll 1s: 1d6 ⇒ 5 14 18-18-17-16-14-11 A great one, let's see if Set #2 keeps up with the pace. Set#2:
Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) = 11 15 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6) = 14 17 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) = 13 17 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3) = 14 17 Stats: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5) = 17 18 18-18-17-17-17-15. And this is fricking awesome. I could build a multiclass Cleric Monk//Paladin/Wizard and still have the stats to spare. I will think over it and return to you with a concept that hopefully is up to these stats.
Gareth:
Name: Gareth Ap Cadfael Race: Half-Elf(But see below) Class: Lore Warden Fighter Alignment: Chaotic good Region: Dumnonia (Belgae region) Background: Son of Cadfael and Heulwen, a warrior and a pellar respectively, Gareth lived with both his parents until around the age of ten when his mother disappeared and his father moved closer to his liege. Gareth learned obscure knowledge of the myths and the legends from his mother. Heulwen claimed to descend from the Tuathà Dé Danann, the fair folk from the northern lands, sometimes even Cadfael joked that she must have put a charm on him. After Heulwen left, Cadfael became more and more distant and spent even longer time spans away from his son. Gareth learned to work the furs and leathers to earn his place in their community, but also started training to become a warrior like his father. He wouldn't become one, though, until he came of age and by that time his father had already died in battle. With no alive relatives and no desire to remain in a place that evocked grieving memories, Gareth became a mercenary warrior of sorts. Okay, that's my merry concept. On the matter of being a Half-Elf, my idea was to use the race as a template of sorts for a man with fae blood like all those that appear in british and irish legends. Things like being able keep his senses keen even when the light is dim or having innate resistances to some magical effects simply round out the idea quite nice.
About me, I am Spanish so GMT+1 is my timeframe. I am a former IT student that's going to start a Translation degree in early September, love me some mythos and legends and while I am used to 1 post/day games, having a more relaxed posting rate means I can put more time into longer or "worthier" posts, which suits me just fine.
GM Stormchaser wrote: Nevertheless, plenty of mounted warriors and swordsman. Just not so much the traditional image of the armoured knight. So, more Diarmuid or one of the Fianna and less Gawain clad in steel riding a trusty steed. Not a single problem, sir. In fact, it has a different appeal but certainly a fresh one.
Well, count me interested good sir.
I will wait for the 'build rules' for now, but be warned that I have the basis of a concept for now:
Guess who just finished Fate/Zero a couple days ago and is getting through Unlimited Blade Works right now? I will tentatively dot while I check the system, as I am unfamiliar with it and wouldn't want to hop in if I am going to slow you down due to it. Unimportant edit: Recently, as my group of friends and I have been commenting the Fate Series, we've been discussing cool historical and legendary figures that would make for great summons, sometimes making teams of our own. I will only add that El Cid, Don Quixote, Rasputin and Shaka Zulu were my Saber, Berserker, Caster Lancer Heroic Spirits.
Nucular, it is nucular. Ahem... Simpsons aside, paint me interested. I will refrain from stating my class intention because I need to think about it, but here come the rolls! Stats: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 1) - 1 = 13
Stats: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 1) - 1 = 16
Okay, paint me interested.
Str: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 6) - 2 = 12
Did someone say Cleric?
I love me some high lethality, Choon... or may I say Thoon? And I feel specially heroic, so before even rolling for my stats I proclame that my submission will be modelled after Arthur Pendragon and his Knights. Now onwards to the rolling!
Statty Stat: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 1) - 1 = 9
Well, this is nice. Not the nicest, as the character will be flawed as all heroes should, but nice indeed.
Lurch, I'd kiss you if I could reach you. Everything is starting to get shape in my mind. Hell, not being able to reload quick for now goes great with the whole BFG theme. Character Sketch:
Short backstory to be expanded: Slave to a chelaxian diabolist, had to be schooled to become an adequate servant and run his master's errands as well as assisting on the experiments and rituals. The Eagle Knights helped him revolt and escape, providing the alchemical materials necessary to transform a 'run-of-the-mill' tuesday afternoon diabolical ritual into an explosive shitfest. His prior knowledge helped him make meets end as a freelance adventurer andalchemical provider, but the chance to actually and permanently flee from any possible chelaxian vendetta brought him into the boat. Stats after Racial Modifiers:
Skills:
Feat(Actual and more or less future)
Gear:
I still need a name, but I'm hapoy with the result.
I was about to make a post regarding my dual wielding concerns (Mostly because Variel is a revolver totting dual wielder) and then I realised... Hellboy. Only a gun, yet I need to make it large/increase its damage, with a prehensile tail and total darkvision. Complete with the heart of gold hide under a bit of gallows' humour. I dig it. I may end doing him a dual wielder, but I dig it.
I was going to write a lengthy piece mentioning how much I love the idea of Collaborative Homebrew paired with Grim Fantasy and end with my wholeheartedly love of rolled stats... then I realised others did. So I will only state Me want, me want and praise the RNGods for good luck. Statty Stat: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 5) - 1 = 15
Stats I totally can get behind, yeah.
I will show some due to interest.
Now on to the rolls!
I will reroll, but following my F2F rules I'll take it even if its worse with the only exception of the Stats ending unplayable. Stats: 4d6 - 5 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 6) - 5 = 16
Aaaand we have a winner!
Here from the Interest thread! Gotta say I appreciate rolling for stats as I do love the ranfom elemwnt it brings to character creation. I have to iron out the details, as well as deciding on the background (Either Nevarran Adventurer or Ferelden Noble) but I know for sure the main theme of my future submission:
You got me with the Setting Doc,
A fighter or fighter multiclass would probably fit the bill, so would do a Magus, but here come the obligatory questions: are Path of War classes allowed? What about PoW archetypes for base classes? And PoW feats? Finally, Variant Multiclassing? In any case, rolling! I'll refrain from rolling a second set because I like the risks. Stats: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 6) - 2 = 14
Perfect! This still arises a couple questions regarding firearms -you must see some kind of path regarding what I'm probably submitting-. I know for a fact taht Revolcers were used extensively during and after the Mexican-American War, but Commonplace Guns means early firearms are cheap and easily available yet Advanced ones like my favourite revolver are full-priced and rarities. Should we follow the Commonplace Guns rules as written or is there a DM statement on the matter of six shooters? Next question! I figure that historical figures, even if minor or only barely known, are out of the table as Player Characters... but can we use them as the classic NPCs we mention on our backgrounds? And last question: Trench Fighter archetype? Yes alright? No it's too good? Whatever the answer, I'd be okay with it. Edit: Forgot a question: if we are to pay full price for advanced firearms, would pregame crafting for them be allowed? That's it, assuming we can build them taking 10.
Paint me interested, specially given the frontliner spot and the chance to roll for variant atuff for aasimars!
Variant Ability: 1d100 ⇒ 100
Damn, Kamen named his submission The Maiden a la Darkest Dungeon... now my The Desperado will look like a shameless attempt at being original while copying him! The Desperado:
The stench of whiskey and a cold disappointed stare haunt his nightmares. The Desperado fled from a great noble house to escape an uncaring wife and a drunkard father, neither of those loved or were loved by him. He turned to a life of risks, to a myriad chances to feel alive by getting close to death, and the hard gold that comes from jobs that nobody else wants. He regrets nothing and lives for the thrills... and only when he is sober the memories pop up, the child he couldn't have. The whiskey fixes that up, oh, the irony. No place to call home, no family that cared for him, no place to return to... travelling to the Hamlet felt natural to him. Vice&Virtue:
Vice: The hard stuff, hooch, booze, juice, liquor, the irish handcuffs, a good shot from the ol' giggle water. No matter the name, dark or white, hot or cold... The Desperado enjoys his drinks. No matter how bad the hangover will be, whatever it takes to silence the memories. Virtue: Despite the gruffiness, the almost persistent whiskey stench surrounding him and his reckless attitude, The Desperado is a human with human reasons and human flaws. Like his weakness, the weak and downtroden, specially the children. He simply can't turn a blind eye to childs being mistreated. People should be grateful they can have a family, inatead of abusing them. And that's it. The crunch will come later as soon as I get home and can upload it to a profile!
Showing up from the Interest thread!
I need to ask, though, if certain thing would be allowed as per your 'Ask about others' words.
I know some people are leery of Path of War related stuff, so I'll be honest: eliminating tax feats greatly helped with the concept I had, but I still need to solve both firearma being one handed weapons and the matter of reloading them while carrying a sword in the other hand. I am not actually interested on maneuvers, nor the class in itself, but this exact ability I'd choose:
Privateer template thingy:
Sea Combat: The privateer can treat ranged attacks with firearms against adjacent opponents as melee attacks in every way. He may initiate strikes and use feats and abilities that normally only apply to melee attacks (such as Power Attack) with such attacks, and uses his Strength modifier to determine his attack bonus instead of his Dexterity modifier. He adds his Strength modifier to damage rolls as normal for a melee weapon of the firearm’s handedness. The privateer may treat one-handed firearms as light weapons for the purpose of the Weapon Finesse feat, two weapon fighting feat and similar effects. He does not provoke attacks of opportunity when making attacks in this manner, and may not use feats that normally only apply to ranged weapons while treating a firearm as a melee weapon. In addition, the privateer can reload a one-handed firearm while wielding another weapon in his other hand, and does not provoke attacks of opportunity while doing so. To be honest I'd pick one level of said class, two at most, and start picking either Rogue or Fighter afterwards. Hell, for the sake of getting that ability and solving my main build problem, I'd be completely okay with pickin Warlod and never using Maneuvers nor Stances. That's a small price to be able to do my stuff competently. Failing my request, I got an alternative plan that isn't as true to the concept as I desired but would work!
Yay to everything! I'll roll stats now and prepare a juicy character over the weekend. Statty Stat: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 1) - 1 = 12
Holy Tiamat Mother of Dragons.
Unless you desire to run the AP with only two players, I'd be up for it. There isn't many chances to play 5e around here, and even with 'mostly core' the game sounds nice. A couple, mostly obligatory, questions: Feats allowed or not? What about Variant humans? Basic stat array, point buy, rolls or which stat generation method?(I'm partial to rolling, if only because I like it that way) |
