Wish everyone the best. It’s been fun!

Sorry, it's been awhile...could I please have a recap of where we are now?

”Just our pride. If we could be allowed in, it would be appreciated.”

Didn't see any updates...now I see that the last post is 8/23/20. My apologies for my contribution to this slow down...

"The more blasters pointed at them, the better. I have no issue with teaming up." Elthaeron said.

”All of it may be a tall order. But a bloody nose?” He looked at the man expectantly.

Finally spotting a new mask, Elthaeron felt like someone wearing the most ridiculous of clothes. But still, it was preferable to being dressed like a beast of the wild.

With as much dignity as he could manage he said ”I can’t see the harm in hearing him out.”

”Can’t shake the feeling of how weird this is. Not so long ago we..” Elthaeron trailed off, realizing how foolish he almost was. ”Anyways. Think I can find somewhere that I can buy a mask here? Not having one is like...not wearing pants. You can live with it, but it isn’t preferable.”

I bow to your mercy. It looks good to me

Really sorry to see you go. You’ve been great! And glad you don’t have covid.

For me I’ve slowed down because I’m trying to buy a house. Which is time consuming enough, but I’m also trying to get military records for a VA home loan. Which due to covid is...hard. This morning spent 2 hours making phone calls and think that I have a solution, which “only” required talking to my 1SGT twice and the VA. In short, my free time got shot to hell.

Honestly, I don’t know. Can we paint it red to make it go faster?

Elthaeron quietly wondered how they were going to bankroll all of this. He really hoped that it wouldn’t be expected for them to provide out of pocket.

Computers: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

”My people aren’t all that common either. I’ve seen this problem before. I think that we just need to..” Assuming the PC is smarter than the player here

”As good a place as any. Once they realize we are gone, we’ll be wanted criminals for sure. We won’t get this lucky twice.”

”And then we go hide on the planet below! They’ll never see it coming. They’ll want us captured, so we have to outthink them.”

Telepathically he said to the group That was for their security cameras. Let’s get the hell out of here.

He considered trying to take a different one, but who knew it they had a way of remotely disabling their own? Safest to try and fly something they were familiar with.

”It is what matters right now. If they regroup we are dead, no questions about it.” Elthaeron said. ”Let’s move, now.”

GM kindly allowed me to have aesthetic warrior. So no longer have heavy armor/heavy weapon proficiency, but have improved unarmed strike (which isn’t archaic).

I’ll be switching my +2 Wis to +2 Str to make the unarmed a bit better, and will be using rune of the eldritch knight on his unarmed attacks (with flaming infusion)

So as I understand it, his unarmed attacks are now +7 Hit (BaB, Str, Focus) and 1d6+8 damage (Str, Lvl at 1.5) with half physical and half fire.

Lvl 5 is a huge level for Elthaeron. He now has telepathy and magical abilities! Quite happy, even if the lvl5 arcane assailant ability is really meh

Lvl5!

HP: +7
Stamina: +8 (another +5 for con increasing)
BaB: +1
Saves: None
Skills: Learned medicine due to int increase
Ability: Secrets of the Maji “When you imbue a weapon with the rune of the eldritch knight, in addition to its normal benefits, the rune grants the weapon one of the following weapon fusions of your choice: ethereal, flaming, frost, merciful, or shock. The weapon can’t gain a fusion it already has, and this bonus fusion doesn’t count toward the maximum total level of fusions the weapon can have at once. The bonus fusion ends when the weapon ceases to be imbued with the rune of the eldritch knight. For more information on fusions, see page 191.”

Stats: “ Every 5 levels, you get to increase and customize your character’s ability scores. Each time he reaches one of these level thresholds (5th, 10th, 15th, and Table: Character Advancement), choose four of his ability scores to increase. If a chosen score is 17 or higher (excluding ability increases from personal upgrades, it increases permanently by 1. If it’s 16 or lower, it increases by 2. You can’t apply more than one of these increases to the same ability score for a given level. Unlike during character creation, ability score increases gained from leveling up can push your character’s ability scores above 18.”

+1 Dex (19) +2 Con (14) +2 Int (15) +2 Wis (12)

Feat: Technomatic Dabbling (Choose two 0-level technomancer Spells and one 1st-level technomancer Spell. You can cast the 0-level Spells at will and the 1st-level Spell once per day for every 3 character levels you have. Your caster level is equal to your character level, and the key ability score for these Spells is Intelligence. If you later gain levels in technomancer, you lose the benefits of this feat and can replace it with either Spell Focus or Spell Penetration.)

Lvl 0: Token Spell, Mending
Lvl 1: Life Bubble*

*1 creature per level, with 1/day per level duration

“ You surround the target creatures with a constant and movable 1-inch shell of tolerable living conditions customized for each creature. This shell enables the targets to breathe freely in a variety of atmospheric conditions (including in corrosive, thick, thin, and toxic atmospheres), as well as underwater or in a vacuum. It also makes the targets immune to harmful gases and vapors, including inhaled diseases and poisons as well as spells with a harmful gaseous effect. In addition, the shell protects targets (and their equipment) from extreme temperatures (between –50° and 140° F) without having to attempt Fortitude saving throws, as well as extreme pressures.”

The entire party now has those immunities.

You can take it then. But can I have the infrared sensors? I don’t have Darkvision

Showing not a care in the world, Elthaeron immediately began stripping the dead. ”Wish they’d all take the easy way out. Hey, give me a second. This armor looks nice and it looks like it will fit me.”

Anyone mind if Elthaeron claims some armor?

Hit Green: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

”We have them now. Don’t give up!” Elthaeron said, firing another shot.

Always a pleasure :)

To hit should be the same
For damage pistols add 1/2 level while rifles add full level

Hit Officer: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Feeling panicked at the thought that reinforcements might come, Elthaeron fired again. It was a glancing shot...better than nothing, but they needed to win this fight soon.

Hit Officer: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Taking a moment to calm himself, Elthaeron aimed for the officer. Kill the leader and the others might well panic. It was their best hope.

Hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

”Ow! Damn it. This isn’t going as planned.” Elthaeron said as he tried to get into cover.

Lvl4 you say?

HP: +7
Stamina: +8
BaB: +1
Saves: +1 Fort/Will
Fear: Versatile Focus (The benefits of Weapon Focus extend to all weapons with which you are proficient)

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

”Witty comment!” Elthaeron yelled as he fired.

”After we hit up the infirmary. I don’t know why, but I’ve got this feeling, call it a hunch, that it will be beneficial.”

Tearing off the looted gear, Elthaeron quickly put on his own gear. ”At least if we die here we can die in our own clothes.” He just wished that he had his mask. No elf should have to die in foreign space without one.

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

”Oh no...nonono...” Elthaeron muttered as he quickly fired another shot.

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

”Breathe when you shoot. Let the air out and then squeeze the trigger.” Elthaeron said calmly, as he tried to put his own advice into action.

”To the pens then.” Elthaeron said, securing the glove and the grenades. ”Worst comes to worst, this will be a day they don’t soon forget.”

This entire operation was a calculated risk. Watching the guard perform such heroics, Elthaeron realized that the problem was that they all sucked at math.

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

The guard brought a gauntlet to a gun fight.

Pew!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Pow!: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

”Let’s be quick about it.” Elthaeron said while getting armored.

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Somewhat getting his composure back, Elthaeron kept shooting. It helped that the others were keeping the attention of his targets.

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Elthaeron added his fire to the melee, But was somewhat perturbed on how quickly everything was going south. He had imagined something like the old holovids, where the heroes would quickly and efficiently Sneak past the armed guards and steal a ship before anyone realized they had left their cells. Now it looked like the walls would be red before that could happen.

Engineering or Computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

”I’ll get them open. Stand guard so if anyone walks by they won’t suspect anything.”

”Axel, grab the other suit. If anyone can fool them into thinking mistaking any of us for a guard, it is you.”

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Elthaeron smirked as he put another shot into the surprised guards. Fighting was certainly easier when the foe wasn’t ready!

Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

For his part, Elthaeron spoke words that were old before anyone had even dreamed of exploring the depths of space. His rifle materialized in his hands, and a shot was quickly fired.

Telepathically, Elthaeron communicated ”Once free I believe that I can summon my rifle. Which will only have a single power pack. Trosvod has his claws, so two of us will be armed. We should time this for when one leaves and then make it count. We won’t get a second chance.”

Elthaeron kept his eyes closed, and one by one linked himself to his comrades.

”This is difficult. Please *think* your words clearly. If everyone does this at once it will be overwhelming, so don’t do that. Now listen...” He telepathically communicated what he had learned to the group, so that they could start forming their plan to escape. And so that the others could, through him, communicate with their fellow prisoners.

Elthaeron closed his eyes and leaned his head against the wall, trying to look like he was just resting. ”Mothkala, thank you. I will talk to them as well. Together we will find a way to escape. If you can think of anything of import, such as how many guards there are, their schedules, what they are armed with, please tell me. Any detail might prove crucial in our escape.”

GM, I’d rather not hog all the screen time talking to each individually. Can Elthaeron ask Tseekchik and Letrimakinetamal the same questions? Only name dropping Mothkala so that he doesn’t come across as a *complete* stranger?

Yay for space-magic!

Elthaeron sat down, getting as comfortable as he could. All in all things could have gone worse, he supposed. It did seem like everything was going too well. How were they supposed to pull all of this off? It was inconceivable. The fact that they were all alive was a small miracle.

Feat! Divine Blessing - Limited Telepathy:
Can communicate telepathically with any creatures within 30 feet with whom they share a language. Conversing telepathically with multiple creatures simultaneously is just as difficult as listening to multiple people speak.

Focusing on the female vesk, he projected his voice into her mind.

”Act normal. Don’t let the guards notice. I am the elf, the one who came with the other Vesk. I don’t want to die here and I doubt you do either. How long have you been here and how well do you know this place? Focus on me and think your reply.”

Off the cruise and good to go!

Elthaeron’s rifle is “called”, so can he still summon it?

Elthaeron remained silent, feeling naked without a mask or helmet to cover his face. Knowing that he did not have a silver tongue, he decided to let the others try and talk their way out of this...meanwhile he studied his surroundings, looking for anything that might be useful to know should they make an escape attempt in the future.
