@Garret currently, they are exactly 20 ft apart from eachother in a horizantal line on the bridge/ledge. There's 15 ft of empty space between them. If it matters, the ledge they are on is 40 ft south of you vertically. I am not sure how high it is.

I'm not sure what the above refers to. But if we instead choose to hard enform some sort of rule where all loot belongs to the party and people are only borrowing it, so that everything sold is deposited back into the treasury, that would put Elena 6 k in debt for the next time we do a loot division. Minus whatever everyone else might be selling. I think it's too much work to keep asking everyone if they sell something and update the totals, personally. I don't mind either way though if everything prefers to keep tracking and updating.

Can i ask, perhaps, what the background of Unity was, what he was trying to do and how this would have been resolved if we had continued? I realize my dropping out triggered this, but I am still curious as to what was going on with a computer/AI somehow becoming a god?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to make this post as I've been putting it off for too long and felt that wasn't fair to anyone here. In short, I need to start dropping a few campaigns due to increased real life commitments - I've been promoted twice in short order and while that's good for my career, I
ve found that with the stress and increased workload of such things happening twice suddenly I just don't have as much time or energy to write as I used to.

As to why I chose this one as one of the ones to withdraw from, for one I feel a bit less invested in Elrys as a character. Also, while the quality of GM'ing is top notch, the overall level of player activity was/is (?) a bit low - before recruiting Ana there was a moment where it was seriously considered to abandon the campaign since there had been no activity for a month. This isn't anyone in particular's fault and I am definitely guilty of that myself as well, but it doesn't make it less valid. Perhaps becoming a self-fullfilling prohphecy, that drained my motivation to keep coming back as there would always be a higher risk of that still happening later on.

I'd still like to thank you all for giving me a chance to play in this way back when I joined, DBH, Olimpia and Dilana (and Raktar, should he still be reading this despite his absense). I think this was the first longer running campaign I was invited into back when competition for being accepted into one was very fierce and I did learn a lot of how to be in a PBP from my experience here. Also, I'm sorry to Ana for reading this shortly after joining herself. I hope you'll all continue to have fun and stick it to Unity for me!

This might be difficult to call since it's been ages since we entered this dungeon in real-world time. In game time, Elrys used a plethora of minute/level spells on herself just prior to entering the complex. Inside the complex, and she is level 15 for duration. I believe we've had two very brief fights and rescued Ana. How much time is left on Erlys' minute/level spells?

"...Wait, are those Prison cells?" Elrys notes as the group later approaches a set of particular locked doors. Or energy fields? She slowly approaches them, bow drawn and wary for any warden to show up. Should that not happen, she calls out to any living captives in the area. "Is anyone here? I am Elrys Valrassedin, cleric of Iomedae and a resistance member against the Technic League."

All her magical effects were still in place and she'd try and make the most of those while she could. Thoroughly searching the place or looking for traps could wait until later, she figured.

Hey Dbh, I felt like i owed some explanation to my silence in this campaign. In short, some time ago I was asked to become a partner to a medical company. For that, this last month i've been scrambling both for the entry test of sorts as well as all the legal work surrounding this as a i passed. And, well, it is a very big step up on career and finances but my worload has at least doubled, which has led to my absence in a number of campaigns. I am unsure when and if this will improve. As such i wouldn't mind dropping from this campaign so that no one has to wait for me.

I am a bit sad though if the campaign were to end. This one is the first campaign I was invited to in a long time and i'd like to thank both you and the players here for that invitation and opportunity. As such it does have a special place of sorts in my heart. Unfortunately, i do have to prioritise large real life promotions, both for myself and my family.

Still here, just very busy. Son is in the hospital since sunday, before that i had a few weeks of hard studying for a partnership in a new company and a massive raise. Now that i have it though, working through all the paperwork and administration of becoming a contractor/partner.

Apologies, I am not entirely sure where we are on the map but unless we have a pressing reason not to I'd suggest searching the next closest room.

Producing one of the two keycards in the party's possession and handing it to Raktar as the tank, Elrys takes position next to the closest door, the northern one, and glances over everyone with a nod. If there are no interruptions, she holds up three fingers and counts to zero, upon which the keycard opens the door and the party rushes in to subdue the presumed league agents!

Slightly parapharasing to push and presumably start the next encounter, I believe we previously decided to forego subtlety in favor of the direct assault plan.

"However... if we were to deactivate the reactors, that would power down the presumably a large part of the complex. Which would, in theory, make our task here much easier." Elrys muses, and looks to the others for their input on whether to pass here or disable the power source.

Does resist fire 30 or 10 counter the extreme heat? Elrys casted communal version of fire and electricity on everyone before attacking the robots, and every member within 20 ft also has resist 10 fire and cold from her greater angelic aspect.

With her energy resistances in place, Elrys doesn't hesitate. She step over the fallen robots, grabbing her arrows in stride. She nods and follows the melee into the next toom once Raktar had either torn it open, Olimpia had lockpicked it or her keycard taken from the Shade was accepted.

@Olimpia/others Sure, I'll do it, though I only have one of those so from now we'll have to rely on Raktar for Haste effects, unless he prefers to do it here, then I'll instead buff divine favor. Also, taking in account we have 8th level spells I'm going to add Greater angelic aspect and Source Severance (arcane) to the prebuffed list, and instead use Shield of Faith +4 on Olimpia since she tends to spread from us. Source Severance projects a 5ft aura that makes Elrys and anyone standing right next to her immune to arcane spells as per Antimagic field without affecting our gear or supernatural abilities... and ALL technic league members are arcane casters, as Therace just told us.(Sorry, Dilana, to cast arcane spells you'd have to be 10 ft behind the frontline, I hope that's okay. It seems hexes still work if you prefer to be inside).

Elrys takes a deep breath, then spends the next minute rapid-casting protective prayers and invocations! "All right. So we're breaking up with subtlety?" She grins and draws her bow. "Honestly? I *am* quite curious to see what we can do if we go all out right away."

Once the robots come into view, she waits for Olimpia to do her invisble ambush should she wish it, then she opens fire on the robots!

Though having to promise I'd be back to see that Guard for the map and then breaking it might be frowned upon. I'll probably have to visit the confessionary when I return to Nerosyan..."

She shakes her head and looks at the others, readying her new bow. "Okay! You heard the man. Brain. Both? Regardless, unless someone has plan so cunning we could stick a tail on it and call it fox, I suggest we just go for a frontal assault. As long as we can keep the noise level down a bit we should be good."

I'll have Elrys prepare a few Silence spells with how many mages we're fighting against. Her suggestion for an opening move is to cast Silence on a rock and have invisible Olympia throw said rock near the guard robots before we open on them, then act quickly from there. ...Actually, did the Shadow, the Alchemist, Ghartome and the Guy from the Throne Room have some sort of identification badges/cards/etc? As it might help to take those.

I could, of course, just sell the belt of phys perfection and the greataxe for 17 k, then my bow for 4.5 k, and buy the exact same bow but with the shock enchantment for 19.3 k and have enough leftover for the extra stack of blunt adamantine arrows. Let's pretend I was smart enough to think of that right away and carry on? Assuming a 19.3 k composite longbow is for sale here in this city.

Sorry, I missed both of those, olympia. If no one needs either the +2 Shock Greataxe or the +2 belt of physical perfection, I would like to sell both in order to afford the Shock enchant on my longbow and some utility items. That would cost 10k gold, selling the two items of loot is worth 17 k so we'd have 7 k leftover, maybe we should get 1 diamond of 5 k for raise dead. That leaves us with 2 k + all other treasure/gold we found in book 5. With group permission I'll use a little of that to buy a snapleaf and the third stack of adamantine blunt arrows along with a bag of alchemical components to increase spell level of buff spells by +1 for 5g each. That would make me all set to go.

Are we going back into the city and shop, since we are already getting a full rest while the Sovereign prepares? Going into the league base with unity right behind feels a bit like a point of no return, though we probably dont have enough funds to make many purchases. I'll buy a bunch of the cheap alchemical consumables that increase the casting level of that school of spell by 1 when cast at least, and probably a third set of Adamantium arrows. If shock arrows are for sale I might like those too, assuming machines are weak to eltectricity.

The lure of technological loot is oh-so-strong and the call of rocket
launchers and grenades even more so, and for a moment Elrys wonders if
she can suppress her inner tech geek well enough faced with the
Sovereign of another nation. But she manages to steel herself and uphold
her image as a worthy, stoic representative of her Goddess.

She shoulders her bow and folds her hands as she looks at the remains of
the rapidly-wrecked robots and then the corpse of the former guard
lieutenant. "An... amusing distraction. Now, shall we proceed to
restoring your health, Sovereign? I will need to touch you to cast the
spell. I hereby swear on the honor and strength of both myself and the
Lady Inheritor that it will be a purely restorative one - there will be
no tricks. Should there be a court magician present here, they can
verify the motions of Heal are they're invoked."

If no one stops her, she approaches the sovereign and begins
casting the Heal spell on him.

"...For our strength is never truly lost while the vigor in our
hearts endures. Be as you once were, whole and pure,"
she finishes,
and casts it!

@ Luthor are you adding in the buffs that you have? Most of my own damage comes from group-wide buffs that you would also have. You have good hope +3, inspire courage +3 since this post and an extra attack from Blessing of fervor from Raktar. That's at least an extra +6 hit and damage along with another attack (I think?). Also, don't gunslingers have rapid shot as well for another extra attack?

Having made herself a target, Elrys quickly casts her most powerful defensive spell, Particulate Form, on the group in the seconds that preceed the engagement. Hopefully, it should prevent lethal blows killing anyone outright!

Brief explanation: everyone has a small amount of regeneration (2) and is immune to bleed, precision damage and critical hits for 14 rounds.
