Ellery isn't the most respectful person far from it, however he has shown everyone in the party far more respect than anyone he met in Thrushmoor. On the other hand, Ellery also isn't going to be constantly called broken and insulted by anyone either. He will give as good as he gets, and probably a bit more. That is just who the character is.

Ellery cocks an eyebrow and makes quite a few hand signs.

Language: Sign:
Ah, I see you have found your high horse. Maybe you shouldn't call people "broken" just because they are different than you. You went quickly enough to "lets find a way to bring Ellery" to "Lets ditch the guy who doesn't speak." Obviously you weren't paying attention, while I don't want to be left behind, part of my mental problems, which I got from helping *you*, made me quite sensitive to the idea. Why am I still with you? What was I supposed to hang out in a town with a bunch of people that think I'm some evil minion for Lowl? That want to accuse me of things I may or may not have done and offer me exactly zero proof? I mean if you want to believe what complete strangers tell you feel free, but don't expect me to. Why come with you? Perhaps because we have, I assume, similar goals like watching Lowls bleed out slowly. He has taken something precious from me and I plan to get that back, and to pay Lowls back for it as well. Also if you think I have enough money to live like a king, you must have only known pauper kings.

Language: Sign:
Thanks Rowan, for starting to deal with me when I wasn't quite myself. And thank you Mara for the assist. Glad I didn't do some of the things I had thought of, like shaving that white rabbit...or stabbing Dervak in his sleep. Maybe don't tell him about that, he would probably just get moody about it.

Ellery eyes Mara suspiciously as she speaks, his eyes narrowing a bit as she continues. When she finishes Ellery responds with some rapid hand signs.

Language: Sign:
Don't act like you aren't going to abandon me as soon as you are able. It seems quite clear that the whiny idiot is more than ready to be done with me. He thinks I am just some broken thing that needs to be fixed. I'm sure you are all just wanting to run off on your dreamland adventure, stop trying to pretend you want me to go along. If you did you would have figured out how Lowl got us there in the first place! Hell Lowl had to get the idea from somewhere or wrote it down. So why don't you go back to the others and just laugh at poor mute Ellery!

He then grabs whichever of the books he had been reading and storms off.

Over the course of a few days, Rowan tries to hang with Ellery and find why he is on edge (besides the obvious). He offers him sake from his magic flask, tries to play the slap game, and just tries to be a friend.

Ellery does his best to avoid Rowan for the first few hours but stops constantly moving away from him after awhile. While Ellery completely refuses to eat or drink something handed to him from Rowan. When Rowan suggests the slap game Ellery gets an odd smile on his face but declines that as well. Ellery then makes sure to keep more than an arm's distance between himself and any of the rest of the party. By the end of the second day Rowan has worn him down enough that he does make a few short and cautious replies to Rowan's questions.

Any time the rest of the party is sleeping, after Ellery wakes, he spends reading the private books we picked up.

Delmoth:
Just because you weren't happy being helpful to the party doesn't mean the rest of us feel that way about ourselves. So why don't you take your sanctimonious ass to the railing and jump over so we don't have to deal with your "woe is me" attitude anymore!

The rest of the day he will avoid anyone else from the party as best he can.

I am a bit torn at the moment...I feel like Ellery not only wouldn't trust the druid, but would also stab her after she surrendered. He has no reason to trust her, is paranoid, and she has already attacked the group. However I don't want to create problems with my fellow players. I can justify leaving the druid be, with Ellery assuming the rest of the party wants her alive/unharmed and because he trusts them he will abide by their choice. So I would appreciate some feedback from you all. I do realize players may have different opinions than their characters :D
