Male Human Gunslinger (Mysterious Stranger) - Rogue (Bandit) 1

Of course, frozen meat didn't make for good meals, so it wouldn't be too tough to get through. The drinks followed a few moments later, delivering drinks (copies of what they'd already ordered, to be exact) to the designated patrons. On the bright side, things seemed to be calming down, so maybe she'd be able to get through the day without the place being totally destroyed. She didn't quite believe in omens, but if she had, that would've been a bad one. Some decent clothes would be nice, too... but that was for later. "Anyone want a few snacks to go with the drinks?" "Any peaches in a can miss?" Uncanned would be fine too, but Durran new better than to ask.

But I'd recommend refraining from anymore 'tall tales', people may not take too kindly to them. 'Specially if they're coming from one so cloaked with the smell of blood." With that he turns back, going for another handful of peanuts. Whoever the stranger was, he wasn't hot-headed. That meant, at least for now, there wouldn't be any problems.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 Above the stink of sweat and booze, the sent of stale blood wafted faintly from the traveler. Not exactly a good sign. On top of that too many of his claims didn't make any sense. Firstly, Durran hadn't met a bandit in his life brave enough to go fooling around with a lady that looked like that. Even if they did the stranger was acting awful casual for someone who blood relative was in such peril. And even then, bandits hadn't been spotted near WalMa for months, so what would they be doing here now? The settlement was too large to be a reliable hideout and boasted nothing in the way of a slave trade. The stranger seemed awful committed to at least pressing the weight of his words, so Durran decided to take a gamble: "No need to be pulling out any coins now stranger, I can see from here that your tongues got enough silver in it to pay for that meal ten times over." He said it just loud enough to be heard by the tiefling over the din of the bar, motioning for a refill of his mug as he did so. He maintained his view forwards though, keeping the man in sight of his peripherals.

"Well..." Durran chews on his words before continuing "Can't say that I have the fortune of a great spirit guiding me none, I'm just an old man trying to make my living out here. Same as everyone else I 'spose." He finishes the rest of his mug and sets it on the bar, then speaks again. "Though I will admit Baird, it is nice to sit down to some good company every once and a while. Some liquor and a few good friends can make this even these dark times seem a bit brighter."

"You're enthusiastic boy, I'll give ya that!" says Durran as he goes over to the target. He managed to wrench the two of the daggers from the wall, but had to leave the third. He grabbed the tattered remains of the poster as well. "Though seeing as the target has been thoroughly wrecked our game has come to an abrupt end. It looked to me that one of our new throwers here played the best, at least by my eye."

"Feel free, friend." says Durran as he hands off the knives to Valeria. "Though, like I told the others earlier, if ya wish to be making bets then that's yer business." After she throws he whistles: "Damn good thing too, otherwise I'd be out a mite more than a couple of silver" Baird still has to make his throws, plus anyone else who wishes to join in.

"HAR HAR!" exclaims Durran as the game continues. Fate seemed to have the intention of making a fool of everyone tonight. "I may be too drunk, but I don't think you two are drunk enough!" he says as he draws a couple of un-minted silver coins from a pouch on his belt. He drops them into two empty mugs and places them onto the bar, a sign that they are waiting to be filled. "When they come, drink up. Liquor 'round here'll put some fire in yer belly! Tonight's not a night ta be sober anyhow."

His friend had attracted a handful more of participants to Durrans ongoing game. It was nice to be in the presence of such good company, though the offers of coin made him a little nervous. Money was not something he had in great abundance and it would seem he would just have to hope things didn't get too out of hand. "Howdy, names Durran. For those of ya looking to play: here's the deal. Each of you'll take three throws, the one with the best tosses'll be the winner." To keep things simple, make three attack rolls at your highest bonus for a thrown dagger. We'll total the three results and the one with the highest total will take the game. Sound good? As he picks up a few knives Durran turns back the other players: "And if yer looking to be making some money, take it up with me friend here. I'm just trying to have a bit of game meself, nothing more." With that he once again takes aim, this time letting his fingers nimbly guide the throws: Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
The blades embedded themselves in varying places around the poster, though one had veered wildly towards the upper right corner of the paper. All in all the throws were little better than what could be expected from the average person. Groaning, Durran slowly raised the mug to his lips once again. "Oohh looks like a might have a bit too much of the creature in me already..."

Come in out the dust child, else the black lung'll take ya 'for your right time. Music rang out across the bars ruined ceiling as a three-fingered piano player banged out an off-key rendition of Billy Joel's "Piano Man" from a half scorched book of sheet music. Smoke and laughter filled the room, muddying the already filthy air. Booze flowing freely from the tap washed away the patrons reason, and for a moment they forgot their lives in the scorched wastelands. On the far side of the counter a game was going on amongst a few of the bars customers. A poster had been tacked up against the wall, likely taken from somewhere in the sprawling ruins. A hastily done target had been painted across the front, though not enough to completely cover the papers original message. The next competitor stepped forward, an older man wearing simple sun-bleached traveling clothes. He picked up a knife from the counter, carefully taking aim before throwing it at the target: Attack Roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 The blade landed with a satisfying thud, sinking itself into the dot of the "i" in "Allied Front" "HA!" exclaimed the thrower "Bullseye! That puts me 10 points ahead of the rest of you lot!" He took a moment to swipe a mug off a passing tray and drink before continuing: "Couple of more rounds like that and it'll be y'all that pays for ol' Dunrrans drink tonight!"
Goblin! wrote: I noticed the bad spelling and grammar right away, I mean it is pretty awful, but figured maybe English wasn't his first language or something, so no big deal. If people were sending him abusive messages that's pretty lame, but that seems unlikely and since he went out after a comment that I made which was nothing of the sort I have to think the guy was just ridiculously over sensitive. This is EXACTLY why I didn't want to make an alias unless I got accepted He was dyslexic for what it's worth, and though he appears to have a history of...conflicting opinions with others it is unclear if he could be categorized as "over sensitive". And hey, at least you got another character you can use at some other time (maybe even soon if some messiah comes along and picks up this game).
