dragoon ref: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

dragoon ref: 1d20 ⇒ 8

The remaining guards sizzle as the lightning strikes, their innards begin to smoke and just as they drop to the ground - cooked medium well.

Astri sinks an arrow in one for good measure.

RD 4: Squad

The three guards continue to try to gang-up on Sorrin.

Q:21

Possible Crit confirmation:

rapier, flank: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 2 = 22;dam: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The invisible librarian sneaks on through and thrusts her blade into the spellcaster. "AYE THAT..." He then collapses onto the ground.

AOO on Sorrin:

The dragoon jabs as the thief tries to slip on by him,

rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12;attack: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

The feeble attack misses.

"Come on out...skum you say? Where is the fourth person at...near the skum?' Weapons are drawn as the look in the other direction toward where Astri was pointing. "Shhh...Hey there's one!" He points towards the next alley. the sound of additional boots running towards the scene can be heard.

"Ah, Astrianna Sparacello - Commandant Boneduece's fiddling partner. yes, yes do come forth and show yourself. Skum you say? Where at?" He glances towards the direction Astri points towards.

will save 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
will save 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

The bard comes out singing and both of the dragoons straighten up but are quick to draw their weapons. "Shush woman or you'll find the end my club. Now..." The start to scan the area quickly as if they walked inot a trap."...how many of you are there." One of the men places a whistle in his mouth and gives one long toot.

I'll roll out initiative.

Sorrin, Astri, and Chell for now all you notice are the two dragoons.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Chell kicks a crate as she tries to hide and the notice startles the guards, who quickly notice your group. "STOP! Who goes there."

Aboard the Vintage

The Sergeant hears the Commander signal it's all safe and he smile. "Sorry t' hold you up, but you made my day." He turns to Torgue and Jenkie, "Be safe."

Aboard the vintage

The sergeant on the Vintage listens to Bri and nods, "How'd you come 'bout capturing the Dragon's Tail and the slaver? Where'd he hole up at?" A couple of his men do a quick search of the Vintage for any contraband but they find none, so they visibly relax.

"Haven't seen you 'bout Port Shaw before Captain..." He waits for the name. "When did you arrive."

Aboard Dragon's Tail:

The commander's troops begin to verify the story through their own investigation, interviews of prisoners, and observations. He smiles at the Priestess, "The waving was...er, different. I don't recognize you from Chapterhouse are you out of Port Shaw?"

After listening to Chell's reply he takes the Captain, Sorrin, and Astri aside in the small wheel house. "I'm well acquainted with Captain Donovan, but you two, I am not. A fine job and service you did apprehending Bonegnaw, I've been hunting him for several days now heard he had a big deal happening. Slaves and drugs. The slaves I see but you indicate you destroyed the drugs? How so?"

He listens intently then mentions, "Where exactly did you find him and what about his crew where are they?"

Perrin climbs the offered ladder followed by his men. His eyes scan the boat, you sense he taking in everything noting the potential threats. His eyes meet Captain Donovan, "Captain...upgraded your ship I see." He then exhale and rests his hand on his cutlass.

"So, you say captured Bonegnaw and did what, now. I bit slower." His men fan out in teams of two.

Aboard the Vintage

The launch gets close and the leader of the boarding party sees Jenkie, "Never kn'w ya to run escort for slave runs." he eyes Bri. "Suppose ya gots a new captain...Jenkie is it?" He seem to vaguely know Jenkie. The come besides the Vintage and several armed men step aboard.

The sergeant spend another 15 minutes talking and getting the story form the two armed men that were by sorrin. He eventually lets them leave and while the wizard and asks more questions of you group. Taking another 10 mintues before they are satisfied with your explanation. He drills you about the whereabouts of this "Adriel" fellow mentioned in the writ. After asking questions and jotting down the details you do realize he is not going to haul anyone - including Sorrin and Torgue - to the fort for further inquisition.

"You may go. This is our area of patrol and cannot accompany you, but we will send word to the fort. Careful with this Redd he is known for violence."

The wizard casually mentions, "Hauling those two in seems like a lot of extra paperwork...sarg."

The dragoons soon search and confiscate the items on the deceased along with the "prisoner" except for what Bri pinched. The wizard and the sergeant have a few private words as they sort through the mess. After a while Preggo returns, "Well, it looks like street brawl to us....perhaps turf fight between rivals." He suggests. "We found no drugs on any of the men, although they were each carrying a heavy coin purse." His eyebows raise, "Well all but one that is." I assume Bri pinched the coin bag. "One did have pipe and it was covered with residue." He begins to tap his foot. "Lucky for you....otherwise this would fall outside your writ." He is clearly contemplating his actions as he looks at Sorrin and Torgue.

Diplo is a minute in time, so you are there expressing your position.

He carefully examines the seal before he opens it, nodding occasionally. Meanwhile the wizard reads a scroll and a brisk breeze breaks apart the fog cloud. "Well it does say an Astrianna, Chell, Bri, and Adriel have been charged with a task. But not so fast young lady." He pauses dramatically, "I don't see Sorrin, nor his name, on the writ. You two will need to answer questions." He points towards Torgue. Responding to Sorrin. "Maybe so...if you were a criminal, then again if these two mean and the this man who reported the attack were criminals by the same logic why would they stand around for a chat with the Dragoons?" There is another long pause. His eyes skim the writ.

"Now, let's search these men for the drugs...you claim they were moving." A couple of the guards move over to the downed men and begin to search the bodies. "obviously, if they have dragonsmoke on them your story will have more credibility."

"I bet you'd like to take flight." he scoffs. 'We were told there was an attack here." He glances back at one of the "smugglers", "now you say drugs are involved? Are you the supplying or purchasing?'

The Sargent glances over at Astri who appears at the edge of the fog cloud. "Prisoner? You say or is he your hostage?" He glances over at the parchment.

He tilts his head as one of the dragoons sets up and takes the sealed writ, he hands it to the Sargent Preggo. Who examines the seal. Well the seal is genuine."

"You three come closer....easy now...no funny business." Sorrin the dragoon motions to you and the two men near you. You see the last of the barge slipping away behind the building.

The dragoon then goes on and says, 'Now women get out NOW or we start to light up area with fireballs!" The voice announces. "Your speaking to Preggo, sergeant of the dragoons." He lifts his arm in the air as the dragoons take a defensive position.

Preggo looks to the three men outside of the fog cloud Sorrin's group, "Which ever one she is with, you better warn her and any friends you may have in that fog bank that when my arm drops the area goes up in flame." His arm is clearly over his head.

The Sergeant does not take the hand offered and appears taken aback by the gesture lacking protocol. "I will bring your request to my superiors." He simply looks down at Astrianna of House Sparacello and comments. "Certainly Commandant Bonedeuce will be notified." He stresses the proper title.

You had an address.

He tells you. "Go north to the end of the wharf, then head east in the outskirts that address isn't that far inland from the water.' He nods. "I'll be sure to tell Commandant Boneduece of your aid. If you are looking for work." He points back southward to the large fort. "You can find me there." With that he turns his attention back to his squad who are working the edge looking for any signs of the escapee.

"What's the name or address...I know the parts of the city well." His demeanor is becoming a little less stiff.

There is some rumbling along the edge of the dock as the dragoons and some interested onlookers try to spot any signs of escaped pirate.

There are a lot of eyes on you now Darius, the people from the wharf have taken an interest.

"Well Darius, it takes a brave soul to step up to try to apprehend the most notorious pirate on Razor. It's good to see someone has a spine." his last words were meant for other on the wharf to hear. "You fresh off a ship?" He glances over a the the Mother's Blessing.

The guards rush to the area most are looking in the water trying to spot the the air bubbles or disturbed water areas. When an officer comes up to address Darius. He stares at Darius face making eye contact, "Thanks for the effort, even though it failed, he's a slippery bastard." he is clearly getting a measure of the man. "I'm Lieutenant Whatley and you are?"

How close are the others. Astri you are 20 feet away.
