![]() The god-blessed bows deeply and respectfully to the King of Dreams. He then introduces himself, once more speaking in Fey Common "Greetings and well met your majesty. I am Doctor Vulpiano Arvanxi, son and herald of the goddess Nocticula the Redeemer Queen, Champion of Eiesth, Valkyrie of Hell, Headmaster and Dean of the University of Lepidstadt, master translator and First Speaker of the Bookbinders, and multi-versally renowned healer extraordinaire. I am incredibly honored and extremely privileged to meet one as luminous and extraordinary as yourself. As I said to the skywhale Misha, I would be most grateful to one day return here when the situation is less dire, and take in the sights and experiences of the Dreamlands." ![]()

![]() Sorry, very busy, but very awesome weekend. I'll make an intro post momentarily. You can just post any sort of reply in a spoiler in your next reply, if you feel ya need to. Also, would it be okay to assume Vulpiano is pretty much always taking 10 on Knowledge checks, unless I say otherwise? I have the Eidetic Recollection talent. That would give him a static 58 on all Knowledge checks, save for History which would be a 62. ![]()

![]() Generally speaking, 48hrs should be enough for me. The only times that won't be the case is when I have busy weekends. Last weekend was one such, and this weekend might be too. *Sometimes* that carries over into the following Mon/Tues(albeit rarely), but should usually be good otherwise. ![]()

![]() 1d20 + 48 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + 48 + (7, 2) = 59 Planes to figure out what languages a Skywhale speaks. 1d20 + 42 + 2d8 ⇒ (20) + 42 + (1, 8) = 71 DC 25 linguistics check to use Xenoglossy, in case it speaks it's own language. Vulpiano smiles warmly at Misha, and walks over to the skywhale "Hello my friend, you are most remarkable. I've encountered countless unique creatures over the years, but never one such as unique as a skywhale. Thank you for providing us transportation to the King of Dreams, I appreciate it." He then reaches into one of the pockets in robes, and pulls out a truly massive treat, which he offers to Misha. I'll let the GM decide what the snack is, but Vulpiano has a slew of extra dimensional spaces, plus his Keypalace. I'm sure he has *something* Misha finds yummy. Once done chatting with the skywhale, the scholar mutters something under his breath about his impatient, uncouth, incurious companions, and climbs inside Misha's cabin. Despite his annoyance at not being able to take the scenic route, and thus explore more of the Dreamlands, he takes some solace in gazing out of the window the entire trip. GM feel free to describe any more interesting sights he might spot. Finally, when they land, he gets out, stretches his legs, and once more speaks to Misha. 1d20 + 42 + 2d8 ⇒ (18) + 42 + (1, 8) = 69 Xenoglossy. "Flying with you was a truly wonderous experience Misha. I hope we're able to visit here again, and I can spend some more time with you." He scratches the skywhale under the chin, and again offers their conveyance a snack. Turning, he's 'ambushed' by Lily, and speaks to her in True Speech. "Hiya Lilianne, I'm Dr. Vulpiano Avranxi, MD, it's a pleasure to meet you. And yes, I will gladly sign you an autograph." He offers her a hand for a shake as well. ![]()

I promise I'm not tryin to be difficult by being the odd one out twice now! However, it is 100% in character for Vulpiano to want to explore a new setting(and thus learn more about), assuming there's no immediate danger/emergency. It doesn't *seem* like the danger the King is concerned about is imminent, *especially* with Magdalena offering us the scenic route in the first place. ![]()

![]() Stepping through his gate, Vulp is assailed with the familiar scent of the very first book he ever read. It takes him back a few hundred years, to his childhood home, his adopted mother watching over him, helping her son with any words he might struggle with. And then he's in the idyllic parks of Allialla, and much like his fellow Circle member, he too takes in all the various sights and sounds. He makes a special mental note of the elven vampire, recalling what he knows of the vampires of the city. They might be useful later. He flashes Magdalena a warm smile of friendship, tipping his top hat in welcome. "It was actually rather pleasant, thanks." He replies politely. "Honestly, unless we're in an actual hurry, I would love to stroll through the city. It's not every day you get to visit the domain of the King of Dreams, and I would be remiss if I didn't take advantage of being here to explore it as much as possible." ![]()

![]() The good doctor has kicked his feet up on the table, drink in hand, pouring over his ever present massive tome of collected lore, esoteric knowledge, obscure facts, and other, stranger rumors and puzzles. He barely registers Maedyri's little speech about the Dreamlands. "Yes, yes, we all know the basics of the plane, unless you're a child." He says, waving a hand dismissively. "What we need to know is if our destination possesses any unique challenges or unknown dangers. Thankfully, that happens to be my specialty. Well, one of them anyways." Gonna spend an inspiration point(24/25) to take 20 on Planes +48 +2d8 ⇒ (7, 2) = 9 for a total of 77 to learn about any unique threats/monsters/dangers/etc of the Dreamlands. ![]()

![]() Vulpiano lazily rises late, some time after midday. He was up till just before dawn the night before, helping his friend Alanerra translate some ancient texts for House Vezrigard of the Sanguine Sovereignty. They were written in Jyoti, the language of the Positive Energy Plane’ inhabitants, and the number of those who read or speak that obscure language were a miniscule amount. He remembers his dream fondly, smiling at the conversation he had with Magdalena. Rare were those who could fluently speak First Speech, and it was nice to converse in such a unique tongue with another. They had discussed a great many things, not just about her reason for visiting, but a myriad of other topics as well. It would seem that the Twilight Seer also enjoyed speaking to somebody as well versed in the esoteric and occult as the learned Arvanxi scholar was. Stretching, he slowly gets out of his big, oversized, incredibly comfortable bed, and puts on his robe spun of shimmering mooncloth. He then makes his way downstairs to his kitchen, and begins to cook himself a hearty breakfast consisting of pancakes, toast, omelets, sausage, and bacon, along with a large mug of dragonfire juice. Normally, he would have Venator cook for him, but he was feeling in a particularly exceptional mood, so he decided to handle it himself. Finally, after finishing his meal, and completing his daily check in with Oliviania at the University of Lepidstadt(where she was filling in for him as Dean while he was in Hyraeatan, he examines the key Magalena gave him. Inquisitive as always, he can’t help but try to discover more about the mysterious object. 1d20 + 48 + 2d8 ⇒ (10) + 48 + (5, 5) = 68 Arcana. As always, he shares his insights with assistant, Aurora Once he’s completed his investigation, it dawns on him that he should probably go meet up with his fellow Broken Circle members. Heading back upstairs to his master bedroom, and into his gigantic walk in closet. He spends a good half an hour choosing the perfect outfit, eventually settling on a red and black suit, red top hat, and gold ascot. He then exits his palatial extra-dimensional mansion, strolling down the dark, dirty, streets of the Archives. As he does so, he passes countless beggars, homeless, and hungry. He flips each of them a gold coin, not caring what they spend it on, just that for at least a few moments, they are happy. Eventually, he reaches his destination, the meeting house of the Broken Circle. He’s late, but that’s not unusual for the nobleman. He rarely hurries, unless he absolutely must. He takes his customary seat next to Josten, and pours them both a strong drink from the ornate silver flask(Bottomless Flask) at his hip. ”I’m going to guess you all also had a fascinating nocturnal visit from a gorgeous white-haired mistress of dreams?” He queries his fellow Circle members. ![]()

![]() Just an FYI, I probably won't be able to get my first post up till at least this afternoon. My mom and I have our first big craft fair event tomorrow(assuming the weather holds), and I'm supposed to have an IRL game tonight as well. Have been super busy. ![]()

![]() I PM'd Pasha about how long the our version of the Broken Circle has been together for, and they basically said it's up to us to figure that. Ie, they don't personally care how long we've been a group, so long as we aren't there from the beginning. I guess the Circle itself has been around for several centuries, at least. ![]()

![]() Apologies, I forgot to reply to this. Last few days have been a little busy, and it just slipped my mind. I think I have still have a ton of gold left to spend. I'm thinking of maybe making some of unique Tel'Kira esque item, attuned to House Arvanxi(and obviously for humans not elves. Just using the Tel'Kira as inspiration). Gotta go through and choose all of my languages, and spend my last couple of feats(I think I have 2 left) and a few skills, but otherwise, I **think** I'm done. ![]()

![]() Just curious, is anybody else from Golarion or spent considerable time there? I'm fairly certain The First Flame was around before the planet was event formed, lol. Other than that, I know Josten's parents are Golarion deities, but that doesn't mean he was on world much. ![]()

Does the second list mean racial/regional languages from some of those listed settings are available? Unsure if Vulpiano has ever visited those worlds, but I would imagine the Bookbinders have access to books in those languages that he could learn them from? Or maybe he has a mentor(s) among the Binders(or even another Parity) who has taught him those setting specific ones? ![]()

Apologies, last weekend was fairly crazy, and then I forgot to reply. Much sorries! Anyways, to answer your question: 100% the Redeemer Queen. He's no longer a Yaksha for his race, but instead a God-Blooded. Nocticula is his divine parent, unsure who the 'father' is. Will give that some thought. She gave birth to him to serve as a sort of mortal herald to help establish her church on Golarion. ![]()

![]() So, uh, I apparently forgot to include the +3 extra skills Pasha gave us, lol He should have 26 per level(8 from Scholar +15 from Int, +3 from Pasha bonus) and then I **believe** free ranks in Heal(he has the Field Medic tradition) and Stealth from his Spheres, for a grand total of 28 ranks/lvl or 560 skill points. Can somebody double check that for me? ![]()

![]() Hallo!! Super excited to have been chosen, and hyped AF to play with ya'll!! For the record, everyone picked was on my short list of interesting characters/good players, so that makes me super happy! In case anybody missed it, here's what Vulpiano looks like! Including the cane, and funky spectacles! I still need to finish spending his gold, and I also need to pick his 'material impositions' but otherwise he's pretty much all done. Oh, I *might* have some extra skill points that need to be spent, and maybe some extra magic talents, maybe? Unsure. Math is hard at this level, and I suck at math in general, lol ![]()

![]() Fun fact, re: the topic of extraordinary/supernatural/SLA, Every single class feature I have(aside from spellcasting), including all 3 ways to resurrect somebody, being able to remove a slew of conditions, and the ability to grant myself and my allies fast healing, Are all extraordinary. I have some a bunch of destruction talents from being a Spheres half-fiend, but those aren't from my two classes. Might have some other supernatural/SLA/magic stuff, but everything from L. Investigator and Scholar are extraordinary. Pretty heckin cool! ![]()
![]() Two neat facts about my PC: 1) He knows 90 languages! Yes, I know magic can give him 'all languages', but it's kinda awesome he knows that many that can't be taken away in a AMZ or other situation where magic is somehow not applicable/can't be used/is suppressed. 2) He has +88 to Heal, which not allows him a heck ton of healing capabilities through his various class features and feats, but is also the skill he uses in place of Craft(Alchemy) thanks to his martial tradition. ![]()

![]() Work continues on Vulpiano, who is shaping up to very much be a problem solver type, able to adapt and overcome all sorts of challenges. He's also going to be a quite the capable non magical healer, thanks to to a variety of class features and feats. Offensively, he'll be able to deal a fair amount of damage, but he's definitely not build as a DPS role. Skill are where he'll shine brightest. Atm, he has 23 skills per level, though he also has bonus ranks from two of his Spheres. He can use his Int for several non Int based skills, and he can use inspiration(which also has several boosts) on most every skill thanks to two of his talents. Finally, thanks to L. Investigator, all skills are class skills! ![]()
![]() I have decided to go with the Doctor archetype for the Scholar, and the Medicine Course of Study for the L. Investigator. Thus, the new alias, as he's literally both, lol However, he's also Lawful Evil(with the Spheres of Power Half-Fiend template) and a Yaksha, so he's also kind of a jerk about it all, lol Every single one of you is dumber than he is(even if you also have a 40 Int, lol), and he won't be afraid to let you know it... |
