As Kallie casts her spell, the rest of you can't help but quietly fear that some sort of temporal nonsense will suddenly apply here that makes Mokmurian inexplicably immune to enchantment magic. And even if that isn't true, there's also the reality that Mokmurian was a powerful wizard whose iron will and force of personality briefly united the stone giant clans of Varisia under his rule. In other words, someone who would be naturally resistant to enchantment magic.

Mokmurian Will Save - DC 25: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

However, despite all that, Kallie's spell takes hold, causing Mokmurian to completely freeze in place right as he is about to retort to Croq's taunts.

Isiah seems... relieved when told that there's (more or less) readily available magic that could treat his affliction.

"In that case... I can wait here a bit longer while you all... clean house," he suggests. While you haven't explicitly said that's why you're here, Isiah has likely determined the reason behind your visit from various context clues. "I suggest securely sealing the doors before you depart. When you return, even if I won't be entirely lucid, having some food handy should keep me... docile long enough for you to use the scroll."

Before you leave, Isiah adds one more tidbit.

"Be on the lookout for a vampire named Sumsarru and a ghost named Xanesha. Someone named Erigantus helped Leptonia... procure their aid as guardians of this forsaken place," he warns. "From what I gathered, Erigantus is more of an independent ally than a lackey. Leptonia paid him with a 'runelord's tome' for his assistance with that foul sludge that turned me into this."

Nemo's Quarters

After making sure that she's alone and that her quarters are secure, Nemo begins to pray.

"Hey. It's me. Sorry for the silence; I've been... busy."

She sits in silence for a moment.

"I've found myself in interesting company these days," Nemo says. For the next several minutes, she goes on to recount her recent experiences. "So Saul is trying to rebuild after losing almost everything, Thistle plans to make Riddleport a new center for Cladissa's faith, Arc is intent on bringing the rule of law to this city, and Lana... Well, to be honest, I have no idea what Lana's ambitions are these days."

More silence.

"I don't see us becoming friends. She... doesn't seem to think much of me. If memory serves, Gal's the only one who gets along with her these days."

Nemo sighs.

"I don't know if the Blot is going to amount to anything. I mean, the entirety of the Cyphermages are confounded by it. Archmage Silva is probably the only person in the region who could solve this mystery, but he's away with Mom hunting Runelords."

Nemo sits in silence again.

"On a related note, the others are well... more or less. Shiloh is apparently immortal now. Ariel is a delight; she's currently touring Varisia with Galatea. Gal is... trying to reconcile with Kallie. It's a shame, really; they used to be so close. Otherwise, Gali spends her time tending to Silvie, who is an absolute cutie. I miss them all very much."

Nemo sighs once more.

"I think that's all for now. Hopefully, we'll talk again soon. Thanks for listening to me ramble. It's... always nice to know that someone cares about what I have to say."

After Nemo opens her eyes, she studies the holy symbol is her hands for several moments. She sincerely doubts that anyone in Riddleport would recognize it. Before tucking the trinket away, Nemo says one final prayer.

"She will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and Death shall be no more."

With that said, Nemo goes to investigate that phenomenon she noticed earlier about the magical purple (pink?) mist drifting toward the Blot.

PCs:

After hearing no reply from the invisible opponent, Jaya joins the rest of her allies and tries casting Glitterdust on the area pointed out by Aurealia.

??? Will Save - DC 18: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 2 = 24

About twelve feet in the air, Jaya's magic reveals an invisible foe, a half-elven woman dressed in a fancy dress adorned with peacock decals and feathers. However, the spell does not blind her. This must be Hira Doss, the individual behind the efforts to steal the Sword of Pride from you...

???:

As instructed by Kallie, the redhead goes to cower in the corner of the room.

Hira:

Hira smiles evilly and casts a spell.

Thanks to Galatea's earlier protective spell, Cheshire is unaffected by Hira's spell. It's difficult to tell, but Gali (barely) powers through the spell as well. Speaking of which, you can hear spellcasting from her corner...

Inside Mozamer's complex, there's a lot of paperwork!

"Why do villains always leave behind a bunch of paperwork?" snarks Gali, who then joins her friend in his search.

After searching the Horned Gang's living quarters, kitchen, and so forth in the north, the only valuable item Cai'nan finds that could be easily taken is a crystal decanter. Using the one found in Sir Roderic's house a reference, Galatea estimates it to be about 200 gp; overall, this one is more beautiful and more masterfully crafted. Cai'nan also discovers a table that seems to generate some delicious food from thin air. Additionally, he finds a room that automatically translates any languages spoken inside it to some universal tongue anyone can understand.

In the hall leading to Mozamer's room, Cai'nan quickly hears what sounds like more fleshdregs behind some closed doors. He promptly fetches Krodha; in the meanwhile, Gali volunteers herself and Cheshire to watch the Horned Fang remnants. Needless to say, the powerful tyrannosaur swiftly neutralizes the fleshdregs without any problems and returns to guard duty.

Speaking of which, just outside Mozamer's room is some kind of... portal! Galatea tosses a rock at it, but the result reveals it's apparently one way. That said, it would explain from where Mozamer was pulling his monsters. Speaking of which, after inspecting the qlippoth's likely layer, Cai'nan discovers a magical mithral dagger, a wand of some sort, and a pearl necklace Gali estimates to be worth 120 gp.

In the room Krodha made his awesome stand, Cai'nan finds a wooden box along the northern wall that apparently refuses to open!

Finally, he inspects the bedrooms in the middle of the complex. In the easternmost one, it would seem that a couple of people (perhaps those two goons who attacked from the west?) recently lived there, but there's nothing worthwhile inside. The middle room has been cleaned out of anything valuable; Cai'nan gets the impression that Jana might have once occupied this room before she and her moderates split from the rest of the Horned Fangs.

As for the western most room, Cai'nan finds it to be barricade from the other side; more importantly, he can hear someone nervously hiding inside. Going by the voice Cai'nan occasionally hears, this individual is most likely female.

Mozamer's Loot:
He has a magic halberd, magical chainmail, an unholy symbol made of iron, a spell component pouch, and a magic pearl of some kind.

Croq:
The pearl necklace seems uncannily familiar. Upon further inspection, you realize that it matches the description given to you by Alden and Ciara of one that belonged to Alana. Given the location, it's likely a good indicator of who murdered her...

Classy, Sabrina really is a ghost, and as she said, they are probably the one time of undead that are not necessarily evil. Knowing her, Sabby probably took this form because she has such a strong stance against hurting innocent parties.

Sabrina floats silently as she intently listens to her friends' words.

"Sabrina, I... agree with you," Jeevika finally answers. "In my opinion, you are probably the first individual to really see the flaws with how our... existence works. I mean, truly see those faults. I would not be surprised if others have said something or believed something similar, but I doubt it has ever been to the same degree. To the same understanding."

Jeevika closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.

"May I call you...?"

Sabrina pauses a moment before nodding.

"Atty, you are being much too hard on yourself. If we look at the objective facts of what actions you committed versus your ultimately intentions or all of these maybes and what ifs, you were... never a monster like Karzoug or the members of this Onyx Order. You never spilled the blood of innocents to achieve your goals. You only used violence as a last resort. Until we fought, the only focus of your aggression were a few wicked creatures like fiends; if slaying them is a sin, then we are all doomed for Hell, Abaddon, or the Abyss. I know that you sometimes struggle to remember everything that happened, but you even used your powers to help others in need. Even if I was not your mother, I feel like... many would have struggled to stop you."

Jeevika looks away in shame.

"I know I did. When you told me your dream, all those years ago, I very nearly joined you and your cause. It was the greatest temptation of my life. If I had not known that it was rigged, no, doomed from the start... If He had never been a factor..."

Jeevika turns to look back at Argor and Cladissa.

"If your letters are true, then I think you helped your friends here. I obviously do not know the full story, but it sounds, looks, feels like your time with them was mutually beneficial for all parties."

"...Yeah. When I met him, Argor had a stinky imp. Now he has a lovely angel," Sabrina agrees with a smirk. She looks over at Cladissa, "And even if life still gives her grief, at least Classy can chuck sixth level spells right back at it. I guess I did help her with Sir Preston. I think? Well, I certainly didn't make things worse."

Jeevika pulls her resurrection diamond from her pocket and presents it, "I can bring you back right now. You'd be a little drained, but I could fix that too."

Sabrina seems to heavily consider it.

"...Isn't that meant for Mr. Tortellini?" she asks hesitantly.

"Tileani," Jeevika corrects. "Did Setsu...?"

"Yeah. Setsuna kept calling him Mr. Tortellini," Sabrina answers with a genuine laugh.

"To answer your question, it is, but Zoli seems on the fence. She thinks that Setsuna made the offer out of... guilt," answers Jeevika with a sigh. "I truly wish I knew what to say to correct that idea."

"...You're gonna be fighting a godsforsaken Runelord soon, right? Well, in that case, even if Zoli ultimate decides to let her father rest forever, keep that diamond until you're done. Setsuna was so modest about how much and how often she saved their rears, but without her, they would have never made it past Hook Mountain. Knowing those other Rangers, they will need a Kailani keeping them on their feet," declares Sabrina before pausing, "Except maybe Grandma Rilee."

"Ryli," again corrects Jeevika.

"See? That's exactly what I mean!" exclaims Sabrina.

The ghostly druid turns her attention to Cladissa and Argor.

"Even if I returned right now, I don't think I'd be much help against the Onyx Order. The serum was exhausted during the fight, and even with it, I was always second fiddle to Handsome Honey. Turkey also tells me that you have ol' Thrassk helping you out now and that Sonny is proving to be a machine with his sword... Even if Mom had a second diamond in her other pocket..." Sabrina abruptly pauses to make sure that is not the case. Upon getting confirmation as such, she continues, "I'm just... so burned out right now.

"Argor, I... know that we've had our disagreements. Still, like Classy, you've really made something of yourself in such little time. That's what I amazed me when I first learned of you! Working with Argor Constantine... I was so excited! When we first met, I know that you thought I belonged in an asylum, so I tried really hard not to antagonize you. (Except eating from your pantry. It would have been an insult your hospitality not to show my appreciation!) I was... worried about where you would end up, but you were always fair and generous to me. I appreciate that. Even when you learned the truth about me, you... accepted me. Warts and all. You're a smart, wonderful man, Argor. A true hero. A great friend. I'll never forget how you helped Setsuna. And me..."

"Classy, I'll... think about it. Your offer. However, for now, I think that Setsuna needs some company in the Boneyard until she returns. Knowing her, she is hiding from Pharasma until Mom can bring her back. Until then, I'll be that little squirrel in her backpack! Speaking of sisters, I really hope things work out with Auronee. I was... getting somewhere with her. I think, I really do, she was starting to see the error of her ways. Maybe. Just a little? If there is one thing lingering here helped me sort out, it's that she probably isn't a traitor. Despite everything, Windy always accepted me. I wish I could tell her... how much I appreciate that...

"And Classy, I... When we met, I saw you - a good person - hurting, and I just wanted to do something to help. I know that I made a total fool of myself, but I just... seeing you suffer was so painful! I just... I think I saw myself in you, and I didn't want you to go down the same wrong road I did. Perhaps I saw a bit of Setsuna too. I thought the world of her, and I think the world of you too. Like her, Classy, you've proven to be much more resilient that I ever was. Even if things don't work out with Sir Preston, I'm glad that you found comfort in Iomedae's service. If nothing else, she appears to be on your side! I mean, she literally dumped Sir Preston in Absalom to help us! You've... come such a long way in so little time! I would... be happy to see where you end up. And assist you on that journey... You're so... wonderful, Classy. You were... are an awesome friend."

The ghostly druid starts breaking apart into several particles of light.

"...Mom, I..." Sabrina chokes, before breaking into tears.

Despite her daughter being incorporeal, Jeevika somehow holds Attica Kailani until she fades away.

I believe that you also need to buy the Belt of Physical Might +4 (Dex, Con) from our inventory for 20,000 gp (half price); that's the amount of money we would get for selling it, and since you're taking ownership, you would take the 20,000 gp out of your share to compensate. Besides All Might if he still exists (I imagine that the world's resident Superman would have several fans), Setsuna's favorite hero is known as The Count. The Count is part-time detective, part-time lawyer, full-time hero whose Quirk makes him good with math and numbers to its logical extreme and then some. He can calculate odds and outcomes so well that it comes across as outright precognition. To a lesser degree, he is also very good with rules and law systems because math itself is also fairly rule and law heavy.

When Setsuna was murdered, The Count was the one who made sure that Setsuna saw justice. After she reanimated, there was talk of dropping the charges down to attempted murder. However, The Count helped build an ironclad case that was so good that Setsuna's killer was given life without parole for first degree murder regardless. The Count accomplished this outcome by showing that Setsuna was so definitively dead that it would be a mockery of law and justice if the charges were anything less than first degree murder; she was 100% dead for a period of time, and while it happened, the odds of her returning were practically zero.

While The Count plays to a more general aristocrat theme than a vampire, there are certainly hints of influence from the Hollywood version of Dracula in his costume. In combat, he is difficult to fight since he can quickly predict the best ways to avoid enemy attacks while calculating the best ways to incapacitate criminals in ways they would statistically almost never expect.

Keeping with the Vampire theme.

Since the cape might snag, Setsuna would prefer a field variation with just a hood.

Finally, she drinks her Potion of Barkskin from her Bountiful Bottle and charges her buckler with a Vindicator's Shield.

Before they enter Gluttony, Jeevika casts Spell Resistance, Bull's Strength, Extended Bear's Endurance, Extended Shield of Faith, and Extended Beacon of Luck on herself. The Holy Vindicator then casts Death Ward on herself and Eugeni. She also casts Shield of Faith on Zoli and Anti-Incorporeal Shell on Eugeni and Ryli. Finally, she casts Good Hope on the entire party.

As per Inner Sea Gods, Clerics of Shelyn can prepare Good Hope as a 4th level spell. If Thron objects, then I will switch it with Greater Magic Weapon, but when I mentioned it in Roll20, he seemed fine with Good Hope.

"Do not be aggressive with the Anti-Incorporeal Shell; it will fail if you try to weaponize it."

Jeevika then draws her falcata, bears her buckler, and then takes point behind Zoli.

Argor:
At first, Rutai uncovers very basic information about Sabrina. She has been with the Society for the better part of a decade. She and her animal companion (currently Bentley but at one point another allosaurus named Bob) have frequently served as muscle on their different assignments. She lacks any true failures on her record; Sabrina has a bizarre tendency to pull even a small victory from the jaws of defeat.

Before joining the Freaks, Sabrina sailed the high seas with one Auronee Farwynd, who she considers a close friend. Her most impressive feat during this series of missions was sinking a pirate ship by turning into a water elemental and then bashing in its hull with an adamantine hammer she had found somewhere. Aurone's reviews of her are glowing; she is generally quite professional on missions.

(In fact, weird but largely harmless events are noted to happen around her.)

She seems to have a subtle fascination with snakes, and the Society considers her one of the resident experts on Naga magic. She and Gianluca recently went spelunking to uncover more secrets of this unique arte.

Sabrina has changed her surname numerous times in the past. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to what she selects.

She is quite knowledgeable about the politics of Kyonin and is believed to have family there.

Sabrina has been sighted a lot in Varisia by the Magnimar Lodge. She evidently helped destroy a cult dedicated to Norgerber's Father Skinsaw persona and then assisted to smash an ogre army at Hook Mountain.

During her earlier years, though, Sabrina was something of a wild card. While she was never disloyal to the Society or anything, some of her teammates regarded her as a two-bit thug. Her general demeanor was by default grumpy and bitter. Ironically, despite being good friends now, she and Gianluca seem to butted heads rather frequently in the past.

Sabrina has an extreme disliking of Outsiders. Evil ones for obvious reasons. She hates the Neutrals because they (in her opinion) tend to act literally and stupidly. As for the Good, she finds them universally inept.

Rutai learns that Gianluca once pinged her as Evil. He expressed this concern to a venture captain (name unknown) after allegedly witnessing Sabrina torture a demon to the point where it tried to kill itself.

Sabrina seems to worship a deity named Yig; Auronee and Gianluca have heard her utter the words: "Lord Yig, my savior, be praised."

She has a history with the cult of a fellow named Hastur. There is some suspicion that she was involved with them. Why? Sabrina was once heard unironically uttering the words: "Hail, Hastur."

That being said, she seems to want nothing to do with this cult these days.

Finally, at one point during her career, Sabrina seems to have been significantly more powerful than she currently is. Sabrina briefly took a six month hiatus from the Pathfinders. No one is entirely sure why. She pulled some significant favors and strings to regain her position with no questions asked.

Three Days Post Argorian Wedding

After what feels like days of debate, Sabrina decides not to further press Auronee. While she gets the feeling her patron deity would support her efforts (Lord Yig loves his soaps after all), she gets the sinking feeling that she would have an easier time getting those hunter and scorpion continents of Lord Cthulhu's distant planet to make amends. Oh, sure, there is probably a correct sequence of words somewhere that would probably spur Auronee to see the error of her ways, but Sabrina cannot find it, and even if she did know, it would probably require her much more charismatic sister Setsuna (after being buffed to the high heavens with every supportive spell in Creation) to be the one delivering the words.

Still, Yig's Champion wonders why Auronee is just such a sweetheart when Sabrina has her own moments of weakness while evidently Cladissa is just plain worthy of being destroyed for the same reasons.

...It might be because I can always turn into a 6,000 pound tiger. Or because I trained a two ton dinosaur. Or because of that one time I sank an enemy ship for her by turning into a small water elemental and smashing its hull in with an adamantine hammer.

Perhaps it is too early to grill her on something Sabrina barely knows about. Objectively speaking, Auronee just recommended a dessert at the Argorian Dinner. While it had been a vicious symbolic jab, it had still been Argor who had arranged the whole thing in the first place. Hence Argorian Dinner. And the more she thinks about it, the more it seems like everyone is just better off pretending the blasted Argorian Dinner never happened.

It causes nothing but distress for Cladissa, Argor clearly does not think it is his finest moment, and Auronee just...

Just...

Sabrina sighs in defeat; when did life get so complicated?

Upon Argor's Return...

When Argor gets back, Sabrina waits for him to get settled and then seeks him out.

"Hello, Mr. Blakros~" she greets playfully before getting serious. "I know you had a literal mountain of wedding gifts to dig through, but by chance did you get to see mine?" [1]

Later...

Sabrina thinks very little of Grommesson and Anja visiting; after all, they are Argor's family now.

[1] Sabby actually went and spent gold pieces on gifts (new spells) for Argor.

"Hey, Sabs," says Sabrina Right quietly. "We think Cladissa is going to ask Argor to dance."

"Oh, this is going to be wonderful," softly snarks the left head of Sabrina Henderson. "Shall we turn into a llama to celebrate the occasion?"

After watching the events unfold, Sabrina is as still as a statue. After Bentley collects both of their jaws off the floor, the sister heads look at each other in amazement. She remembers Argor saying that he would avoid causing Cladissa any sort of (undo?) stress as well as something about Cladissa making a decision to talk to Argor after learning that he had the wrong impression of her thoughts and feelings regarding him.

Her logical conclusion is that they had talked at some point before the wedding.

And decided not to be drama llamas.

All because of actions she took.

...Did I just somehow resolve the Legendary Argor-Cladissa feud?

Since it seems quite important in-character to find Ameiko and Xam, I guess we can kick back the retraining. I figure that as long as we get to Jorgenfist with a week to spare, then we can start mucking up Mokmurian's plans.

Thron, what were the spoils of war from the giants? I don't think that ever got mentioned.

Setsuna takes off her Ring of Protection and Meridian Belt and studies them.

"If you can spot me 1,500 gold pieces (maybe less if we sell the magic junk we got from the giants), then we can head to Magnimar to get that Rod and figure out their disappearances for certain. Even if Ameiko is on another Plane, Sending should eventually reach her. We could use another caster as a proxy, but to be honest, I want to be able to do it myself. It would probably save us a lot of future grief. Since they mean so much to you, then we can take the Olympus Express first thing tomorrow morning."

After her continued rambles, like a giant-tossed chimney to the head, it finally strikes Setsuna what Zoli first said to her; the Oracle stops dead in her tracks.

SAY SOMETHING, YOU FOOL!

Rolls:
Silence or Speak?: 1d100 ⇒ 54
Silence or Speak?: 1d100 ⇒ 64
Silence or Speak?: 1d100 ⇒ 30

Best two out of three, so...

She feels a sudden surge of courage and an urge to say something bold, but fearful of the results, Setsuna almost backs down. However, seeing Zoli in so distressed, hurt, and confused keeps the "STOP, YOU FOOL!" signal in her brain from reaching her mouth in time. Hence Setsuna instead says something else completely honest, unexpected, and unintended.

"I completely understand, sweetie. This situation is also weird for me. For the longest time, I thought that both of you were together, that Eugeni and I were just marginal friends, and that you and me were best friends. And I was even jealous about how you and Eugeni were together, and I wasn't entirely sure why at first!

"I originally thought that it was because I really liked a certain cute, little Swashbuckler for saving my goose back in Magnimar and showing me so much kindness. Then I started seeing what a swell guy Eugeni is right before our trip to Hook Mountain, so I realized that I was jelly because I really liked you both but I couldn't be with either. And then Eugeni tells me that you weren't together the entire time and that he wants to get to know me better, which complicates things because you clearly have feelings for him.

"And to be honest, it might be impossible to pick either of you. Doing nothing will probably leave us all unsatisfied, so I have no clue what to do. However, I don't want to alienate anyone, so I'm scared of doing anything because I love you both so much!"

Setsuna continues on like nothing happened for about ten seconds... and then completely freezes in place.

"Oh my gods, I just said that out loud."

Instead of doing something comical like summoning one of her Hounds and fainting in his arms, Setsuna feels her eyes start to tear up.

"...Zoli... I... a-apologize... I'm... just... so... o-over... whelmed... I d-d-didn't..."

Mory soon finds that he has an unexpected ally. Setsuna's summoned dinosaur wastes no time in vigorously smashing his powerful tail club against the remaining bear's head; despite not being fully sapient, the very spell calling him implants the knowledge of his summoner's enemies in his mind. Moreover, after all their bullying, the ankylosaurus just does not plain like bears by this point.

The mighty blows leave the bear dazed, freeing Mory from its grasp.

Upon hearing the creature go quiet, Setsuna randomly hopes that Mory is aware of how the Blessing of Fervor would let him stand up swiftly. From there, he could hypothetically punch the bear's face into a pulp.

Using her Blessing to fly faster, Setsuna decides to repeat her earlier summoning tactic and begins the process of calling another critter. Considering how well the ankylosaurus destroyed the bears, maybe one or two more buffed by her magic could stop the kidnapping giants.

Mory, Blessing of Fervor lets you stand up from being prone as a swift action. From there, you could hypothetically flurry the bear's face into a pulp; it's already taken quite a bit of damage.

Setsuna finds herself smiling at Zoli's description of Sandpoint. It sounds like an amazing little town. Definitely a nice place to rest for a while. She also finds herself blushing when Zoli nonchalantly comments on her... physical appeal. Looks are one thing. Someone so casually complementing her is always so unexpected.

"...Uh, tall ones? Oh, tall ones. Yeah... Many of us taller folk do heavily consider height in relationships. Dad is pretty tall for a Human, and being an Elf, Mom found that really attractive. Kind of glad she did. Isn't always an issue, though. I traveled with a Gnome and Human couple once. It was... interesting."

Setsuna briefly wonders about her father. Last she heard, there was talk among her Elven family about helping him retire and taking him within the next five years. As much as Setsuna hates to admit it, her father was slowing down the last time they saw each other. Her mother seems to have trouble grasping how quickly humans age relative to herself. By Elven standards, Jeevika Kailani is still a relatively young adult. By Human standards, Vince Vandermoon is an older gentleman, soon to be outright elderly.

Speaking of her heritage...

"Oh? What am I? I'm Half-Elf. Or Half-Human if you're more familiar with that term. Don't worry; most non-Elves mistake me for an Elf, so I see- Oh. Oh. Uh..."

Setsuna takes a moment to consider how to phrase the information Zoli wants.

"You know how some arcanists don't read books? How their magic is in their bones? I'm like them, but... different. I'm a... divine sorcerer I guess. Mom - she's like me but a lot more powerful - calls us Conduits. I prefer the term Oracle.

"We all have an inner divine spark. It's usually given to us before birth, but I've heard of others getting one much later in life. Unlike other divine casters, we never really have to worry about losing our magic, so I don't think it always comes directly from the Gods. The power always comes at a price, though. Mom and me speak in Tongues when stressed. She speaks Aquan and Celestial, and I speak Aklo and Thassilonian. Some Oracles are deaf. Others walk with a limp from wound that they never actually received. Some randomly get sick if they break a promise. Aside from our spells, we also tend have our own unique powers.

"Mom? She has a natural affinity for the Waves. The Oceans. The Seas. She spoke fluent Aquan years before she spoke a word of Elven. She can walk on water, swim better than a fish, and turn into a watery version of herself. And yet no water-aligned deity has ever tried claiming her or anything.

"Me? Uh... I think some of my power comes from Desna. It would explain a lot of my dumb luck and cloak of a starry night. I worship her fairly religiously. I also like Shelyn. I'm a real sucker for a good poem, play, painting, or love story, but my powers seem to be out of her domain. Same deal with Mom in a sense. Dedicated Calistrian, but water isn't exactly in her goddess' portfolio as far as I know."

Setsuna looks up at the ceiling.

"...Also, Azathoth. Ever heard of him or his kin?"

I'll keep the croc. If nothing else, it will put something between Xanny and our archer.

Sensing that someone is attempting to talk to her, Setsuna looks at Zoli in confusion and then points at her own pointy ears. When the Halfling inevitably repeats her request in Thassilonian, Setsuna nodes and carefully slips over to Zoli. She throws out a Cure Moderate Wounds on her small friend and gives her a weary smile.

The Lantern Archon throws another two lasers at the snake lady, but she agilely dodges them.

However, Setsuna's summon celestial crocodile is another story. His sudden appearance catches her completely and utterly off guard. The heavenly beast lets out a vicious snarl and instantly latches his draws jaws around his enemy's waist, dealing heavy damage as his teeth sink in deep. From there, he keeps her pinned down.

Suddenly, the battle does not seem so hopeless.

Female Sylph Arcanist (Blade Adept) 16

Morgan knows a bit about Iko Ilue's history with the much beloved Pathfinder Rathel. The magus herself had long retired before the holy warrior's rise, but in addition to what the Chronicles said, her husband Nikolai had worked with the Iomadaean Paladin quite a bit. He certainly admired her and her work.

One night in recent memory, Nick had come home rather furious about something. He told her the gist of the story; a fellow Pathfinder named Iko Ilue had stabbed Rathel in the back for reasons that Morgan could not fully remember. It had not seemed like too much of an issue at the time. Nikolai had only been venting; given that he had four children and crippled wife to support, he was not going to run off and confront a man who had punched out a god.

Ruxandra had gotten a new classmate not too much later. Given the relatively small size of Professor Blood's class, Morgan knew most of the other students' parents to some degree. They occasionally ran into one another when Brythen summoned them to give progress reports on his students. It had been one such occasion that she had met Iko Ilue.

Since he been taking a hiatus from Society work, Nikolai had come along as well; he was not home as often as he wanted, so her husband tried to show his support for his children on any occasion he got.

Upon seeing the Garundiman, Nick had turned pale (even more so than usual) and jumped out the nearest window with herself and Ruxy in tow. True, like most Sylph, he and Ruxandra could cast Feather Fall once per day, and Morgan always had Overland Flight/Teleport memorized and/or active, so they had not been in any real danger, but poor Ruxy was left embarrassed beyond words at her father's antics, and Morgan was left wondering if her husband had been possessed by a ghost or something.

"That man has a raging hate for outsiders, Morg!" he had explained when he caught his breath.

"...I see," was all Morgan had been able to reply. Because of the audacity of her husband's actions (and the fact that he had so quickly found a window big enough for all three of them), the Transmuter Magus was a bit dazed.

Ultimately, the immense fear in his voice had kept her from badgering him about it, and native as they maybe, Sylphs were technically outsiders. As such, Morgan had been left weary around Iko Ilue ever since. His daughter is certainly nice enough; as far as Morgan knew, Ruxandra seems to be nominally friends with her. However, from the sounds of what he had just said, the Garundiman had defeated a powerful archon to stop Rathel, so Nick's fears probably were not exactly misplaced.

Apex shifts a bit uncomfortably as he mulls over the subject. At the moment, he does not see any reason for Iko to clash with him. He has no intention of imposing any plane on Golarion, and he would not fight nature itself unless someone was twisting it to kill innocent people.

Well, any good reason. Hopefully, Iko is reasonable about his definition of trying to "turn our plane into a mirror of some Outer plane you fancy" or disturbing nature. Like many of his patron goddess' clergy, his daughter Aleksandra likes to stylize the Nightwish family gardens after the ones Lady Shelyn grows in Nirvana. At the end of the day, Apex can understand stopping someone from imposing Heaven on the Golarion, but Aleks' reverence for the artistic beauty of Nirvana's gardens is harmless: she keeps it confined to one spot that her family owns and only uses plants native to the material plane.

I really overthink these things, Apex grumbles in his mind. With a sigh, he sums up his thoughts to Iko.

"While I wish that it had not happened, I can understand stopping Rathel from imposing Heaven on Golarion. However, I hope that you strive to be reasonable and fair with your judgements, Iko Ilue. For instance, I see no need to terrorize any Sheylnites for making a small personal garden inspired by those of the The Eternal Rose. That would be... excessive."

"Hiya!"

The Eidolon looks around for the source of the sound. It is confused. It clearly heard something, and yet, it sees nothing.

"Down here, silly!"

The Eidolon looks down and sees a most curious creature. She is tiny, barely a third of his size. She is cream and blue. Her skin is cream. Her hair is blue. Her clothing is blue. Her large eyes are gold, though. She has a... smile takes up most of her tiny face.

The Eidolon wonders how he knows what smiles is.

"Hiya?" the Eidolon offers slowly.

"Ya talk!" the small creature exclaims with glee. She claps her little hands together. "Ya talk! That is so wicked!"

"I talk?" the Eidolon repeats curiously.

"Ya do!" the small entity answers. She begins scratching her... chin. Again, the Eidolon wonders how he knows such things. "...So what's yer name? My new bestest buddy has to have a name!"

"My name?"

The Eidolon ponders. An identity she says? Now that he thinks about it, he would like one. Something to tell him apart from other Eidolons.

The small creature ignores him. Her attention seems to be elsewhere. The Eidolon shrugs. He can wait. He has all the time in the world.

"...Big Man? No. Too lame. Yer gonna protect me, so Guardian Guy? Protector? N'aw."

Protect her? The Eidolon ponders this revelation. She is quite small. She is quite fragile. She is his new bestest buddy. The Eidolon nods. He can see her logic, so he accepts it.

"How about something scary? Something to keep the bad guys away! Killer? N'aw, too scary. Destroyer... Man, that's bland. Wait... Destroyer... Man... Destroyerman! That's perfect! You're a Big Man, and you'll Destroy all the bad guys! Destroyerman!"

Destroyerman nods.

He likes that name.

~~Birth of a Kingdom~~

Destroyerman hears soft cries.

"Mistress Neji?"

Destroyerman is worried about his Summoner. For the past six months, she has withdrawn into herself. Minimal interaction with the others. Minimal effort to take care of herself. If he could materialize on this plane as she slept, Destroyerman feels like he would see her having nightmares. Master Sevenstar has mentioned that she occasionally had those.

"Mistress Neji?" he inquires again.

"...Janus," she mumbles to herself, though the Eidolon cannot hear the rest. However, he knows what she means.

For the past two decades, he, Janus, Noelle, and Neji had been the best of friends. They had shared many adventures, ones that had made Master Sevenstar famous back in Restov. It makes sense that Neji would miss her friends. For him not to be at her future wedding is still a bit hard for the little gnome to swallow.

The Eidolon wonders why she is so much sadder than the others about the lose of the Barons. It might be her species. Gnomes are very emotional creatures. It might also be how little she had outside of Janus. Everything she ever had of him is lost. She lost her parents many years ago, and while he helped fill the void, Janus had been the one to pull Neji from her shell.

Destroyerman thinks. He knows that he does not exactly have a way with words. His best vocal tactic is usually to roar and hope he scares something. He knows that his speech is very basic and mechanical. Probably inspired by Neji's childhood ideas about Thassilonian golems. As such, Destroyerman takes a moment to think over his words.

The Eidolon remembers.

He approaches Neji, kneels so they are equal height, and places a hand on her small shoulder.

"I swear, as long as you live, breath, and hope, I will be there for you," he says slowly.

Neji looks up at him.

"...That's what Janus told me..." Neji mumbles between puffs. "When we were lost in Varisia... It was so sappy!"

Destroyerman nods, smiling very faintly.

"But he's..." Neji whimpers.

"They never found a body," Destroyerman reminds her.

Neji looks at him for a very long time.

Suddenly, Destroyerman finds a pair of tiny arms wrapped around his chest.

"...We'll find him," Neji whispers. "...And even if we don't, we won't let his memory and his dreams die. He wanted a world better than the one that took Ms. Skyla. One where children don't lose their parents so soon... If that's the case, even if he's really gone, let's make his dream real! Let's make Janus proud!"

~~Birth of a Kingdom~~

Destroyerman lashes out upon seeing a hole in the Stag Lord's guard. He quickly swings with all his might, but the Bandit Lord blocks the blow. Destroyerman roars in frustration, pressing his blade hard against that of the demonic Stag Lord.

Halcorg rushes in and smashes his hammer against the Stag Lord's Stag Head with all his might. Desna's starknife cuts him. And yet the monster still stands. The Bandit Lord laughs at their efforts.

Destroyerman presses harder against their blade lock.

"You're a Big Man, and you'll destroy all the bad guys! Destroyerman!"

For a splite second, Destroyerman's head cranes back to the empty spot where Neji stands. He cannot see her, but he can feel her mind. It is fearful. It is worried. She has never faced someone so... strong. Neither of them have.

Destroyerman looks back at the Stag Lord. He stares into the Bandit Lord's dark, souless eyes. He wonders. How people has this man orphaned?

"He wanted a world better than the one that took Ms. Skyla. One where children don't lose their parents so soon..."

Destroyerman puts more pressure on his falchion. The Stag Lord refuses to yield.

"If that's the case, even if he's really gone, let's make his dream real!"

Destroyerman thinks. Neji has felt so powerless in these last six months. Her career as a Courier, ruined. Her best friend, dead. His final will, never carried out. His staff and friends, trapped in a wartorn land, probably all dead. Anything Ms. Skyla left him, most likely destroyed All the effort searching for her, ultimately pointless. Neji's inability and failure to stop the humans from fighting... Neji just feels unable to do anything about it.

She feels powerless. However, he knows she isn't. Strength manifests in many ways. Neji might not be a mighty warrior like Halcorg or Seraph or Daliedhur or Xi'Tir, but she did create life from essentially nothing.

That takes some strength.

"Let's make Janus proud!"

Destroyerman looks at the Stag Lord and realizes something: Neji needs to be reminded of her true strength.

"Let's make Janus proud!"

Destroyerman withdraws from the bladelock with speed that would disgrace lighting. The Stag Lord stumbles forward, his guard totally broken by the unexpected move. Destroyerman remembers what he just saw.

He sees a few tiny footprints in the ground. Neji has made her way over to her future spouse. Destroyerman cannot see her, but he knows that she is checking to see if he lives. The way the male gnome's hand floats in the air tells him as much.

Neji is wondering if she just lost another chance at happiness. Her chance to move on from Janus.

Destroyerman realizes that the Stag Lord is the one who hurt and possibly killed Vodyanoy Leventon.

"Let's make Janus proud!"

Faster than he has ever moved before, the Eidolon raises his falchion and cuts the sky.

With all his might, he swings his sword downward.

Destroyerman roars.

Somewhere, miles away, a certain half-elf pauses in his tracks and closes his tired eyes.

"Almost home, Nej."

Neji realizes that Vodyanoy is out cold and moves over to study him.

Destroyerman full-round attacks the Stage Lord.

+1 Falchion AoO (Power Attack, Inspired, Haste, Flank): 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 17 Miss.

Haste +1 Falchion (Power Attack, Inspired, Haste, Flank): 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 34 Crit.

+1 Falchion (Power Attack, Inspired, Haste, Flank): 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 24 Hit.

The Damage: 6d4 + 24 + 18 + 6 - 20 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2, 4, 1) + 24 + 18 + 6 - 20 = 42

"Alright, let's finally get over there, Big Guy," Neji chirps as the invisible gnome casts another buff on herself and her Eidolon, greatly enhancing their pace. "Now take me over to Tatiana; she's the boss lady and all."

As he takes to the air, Destroyerman nods and makes sure that his grip is iron before announcing, "Activating Turbo Mode."

"...Wait, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-" Neji screams as Destroyerman flies full throttle toward the fortress.

It must be quite a sight to the others. A flying tin man rapidly approaching their position, carrying a screaming invisible gnome the entire way. Finally, Destroyerman stops in front of Tatiana, hovering a couple of feet above the ground.

"...Hello... Yer Majesty," Neji's shaken disembodied voice announces between puffs. "Looks like... I got here just in time... to help ya... with... Stag Head."

Neji casts Haste on herself and Destroyerman. Destroyerman flies full speed to the fort. His Hasted flight speed is 60 feet, and if he fly=runs, Destroyerman can move 240 feet in one round. I imagine he can ascend at a forty-five degree angle until he has enough height to get over the fort and then fly right over it. By my counting, he can easily make it to anywhere in the fort, so he will head over to the square in front of Tatiana.

The giants were only able to punt it into the ocean after a legendary bard of Azlanti or Thassilonian descent put it to sleep with a power magical music. It was also binded up with some magic chains.

I think Miracle and Wish both have a specific clause that let you safely plane travel without consequences as long as you burn that a really expensive diamond.

I say that we create a human sized gate from the dead magic world to Valdik's demiplane and disguise it well from both ends. Unless Golthanos can jam himself through it, this idea should be enough to keep him secure. It would be pretty cool if we could put an on/off switch from Valdik's end.
