You descend on wings of fire to the tormented earth of a dying world. Within the thunderous, claustrophobic hold of your drop pod, the assault on your senses and the agonies of the crushing G-force exerted on your body would kill an ordinary man, while outside the armored ceramite burns like a falling star. But you are no ordinary men who endure this fiery trial...you are Space Marines, the Emperor's chosen Angels of Death. Within your mind, you recall the mission briefing, replaying it with perfect clarity... ![]()

![]() Hi Paizo, As a loyal customer from the beginning, I have always been more than pleased with both your products and customer service. On occasion, no doubt because my address is clear across the continental U.S. from your location I have had deliveries that were shipped never arrive due to the vagaries of the postal system. On at least two occasions, I have contacted Paizo, and they have shipped out another copy to me, no questions asked. Being an honest person, who appreciates a good turn done to him, when I noticed my recent shipment contained two Kingmaker Map Folios, I quickly checked the website to confirm that I had not ordered, or been billed for two copies, when I ordered one. My guess is that the shrink wrap caused the two folios to become stuck together during shipping. My order showed, and was only charged for one copy. Now, my question is this. With everything Paizo had done for me in the past, I would like to make the effort to send back this extra copy of the map folio to your offices. Is there a particular person I should send it attention to, or just customer service? I know it is a small gesture, but it is one I would like to make anyway. I, like many of your countless fans, appreciate you guys. ![]()

![]() The moaning threnody of the immaterium reverberates against the hull of the Void Needle, voicing a plaintive counterpoint to the steady hiss and susurrus of the thousand year old air-scrubbers that vent from each corner of the ancient Chartist transport's cramped, shabbily-kept stateroom. Although the pulsing maelstrom of the Warp is invisible to your eyes, residing as it is behind lusterless faux-wood paneling and the centuries battered hull of the ship, it has been your constant companion for months now. It has been as omnipresent as the stale scent of the recirculated air, the dull and flickering overhead lighting, and the starchy aftertaste of the corpse ration provender offered aboard the spacecraft. When, with a sudden stomach-churning lurch, it is suddenly absent, your ears almost feel violated by the now lonely laboring of the air-handler quartet. It has been months since you debarked from the classified site that served as your proving ground over the last two years. In spite of your collectively listless states from the interminable journey, that very training has honed you to a razor's edge when noticing details, even the most minute. It is too early. Far too early for you to be leaving the Warp. Your journey to Malfi should require another month of travel in the best of circumstances. This sense of unease is communicated on your fellow acolyte's visages as you scan the cramped quarters with a growing sense of trepidation. After a few tense moments the sound of heavy footfalls drum upon the deck-plates in the corridor outside of the chamber, followed by the hollow banging of a meaty fist being struck against the state-room door. The reedy Fenksworld-accented voice of the overweight steward who has served you these many months calls from without: "Ullo sirs! The Cap'n has sent me with a 'slate for ye. Important message passed to him just now from the 'paths theyselves. Cannot wait, he says. Most urgent, he says. His mood is poor, it is, wot with us dropping out so early from passage. Too early, if'n you ask me for Malfi docks. Curse this old rustbucket, but she does behave like a finicky old b~%*$ from time ta time!" The muted sound of an angry klaxon sounds from far off down the corridor outside, leading to more mumbling and grumbling from the harried old steward. A small note: You have been traveling on the Void Needle for three months, seven days, and sixteen hours, incognito under the collective guise of a minor Malfian noble house's trade delegation and attached bodyguards. Will you let the steward in? ![]()
![]() I'm looking for players to round out a long-term Dark Heresy campaign for mature, dedicated players. The game will begin soon, and OOC post will be going up as soon as the final grouping of players has been determined. Players will create characters as described in the Dark Heresy Core Rulebook, though all published Dark Heresy supplements may be used. I am currently look for two additional characters and two alternates to round out a group that already includes the following Paizonites: Radavel
This will not be first come, first served, so don't feel like you missed out because three people posted before you. Please post a short paragraph encapsulating your character concept for review, and after a suitable number of applicants have been obtained I will choose two more to play in the game, with two alternates. The emphasis will be on both story and action, so every type of character will have a chance to shine. These three bits of information may be helpful for character creation: 1. As acolytes, your patron inquisitor is Daemonhunter Ahmazzi, of the Ordo Malleus and Tyrantine Cabal as written in the DH core rulebook. Old, pessimistic, cynical and a rumored to have Radical leanings, he is far more that just the write-up in the book, however. 2. The campaign will be focused on a long-term mission to a single, isolated world known as Oremor in the Malfian Subsector. Although my creation, Oremor is positioned in the grid just below the "S" in the word "Sector" in the Malfian Sub-Sector on the two-page map (p. 288) in the DH core rulebook, spinward of Dusk. Characters can opt to be from this world and recent recruits to the Inquisition. It predominantly would be considered a hive world, but also has a continent sized penal colony given over to agriculture that is worked by prisoner labor. More to come on this world and its background. 3. There will be a campaign wiki we will utilize as the story progresses that will consolidate NPC information, details on Oremor and the investigations thus far for ease of reference. This game will be something of a commitment. Daily posting is preferred, and please, only consider joining if you are dedicated to the long haul, as your GM most certainly will be. Just some background on me. I have been DM'ing/GM'ing games from Basic D&D to Call of Cthulhu to 3.5 D&D for 26 of my 34 years of life. This will be my first Dark Heresy game, but I am very familiar with the tone and feel of the Warhammer 40K setting and am looking forward very much to exploring the setting through your characters. ![]() One of my players came up with an interesting idea for filling out the Barbarian progression. Essentially you could use the class skill Intimidation and expand upon it with something akin to a Barbarian's Challenge or Warcry ability. "X" times per day, subject to level, the barbarian could use the Intimidation skill's demoralize aspect to gain progressively greater effects for the result of an Intimidation skill check. Progressively, this would leave the subect of the effect shaken, then frightened, then panicked. You could also tie other effects to this ability, rounding it out in such a way that the barbarian could employ Intimidate like the bard class uses Perform. Any thoughts? ![]()

![]() Hmm... My Pathfinder #2 arrived mid-October but I have yet to receive U1 Gallery of Evil. I'm getting a little nervous considering if things hold to form, I will be receiving Pathfinder #3 and J1 in the coming week. From what I can see, I have been charged already for U1, what are my options if it never shows up? ![]()
![]() Hi Cosmo (or Cosmo's helper, as the case may be) I have not yet received my copy of GameMastery Module U1: Gallery of Evil, even though the ship date shows Oct. 2nd. Should I be concerned? Please not that I have already received my copy of RoTRL #2, and my order history shows that as shipping after the GameMastery module. Any help, feedback would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
![]() ...pick up a copy of the Expedition to the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk by Erik Mona and company. This adventure, even at first glance, is evocative of the great "campaign box" style of adventure that TSR/Wizards has managed to pull of so well on a few select occasions in the history of the game. Whereas Expedition to the Ruins of Undermountain fell squarely on its face by not embracing the FR setting fully or the nostalgia of the original, this module does just about everything correctly, and evinces a genuine nostalgia for Greyhawk that bleeds from the pages. It would be a shame of the quality of this product went unnoticed in the flood of 4th edition chaos. I can only imagine what was left on the cutting room floor if this was the end result. Oh, and buy it from Paizo too! The one mistake I made was getting it as gift and not having the opportunity to send my cash their way. I have since made up for that by purchasing a sh*tload of Pathfinder and Gamemastery products. You should do the same. Great job, Erik, James, and Jason, still holding up hope you guys someday get the license for this setting in its entirety, it would be in great hands! |
