I wish we could have more blunt weapons (hammers morning stars and so on) and other exotic weapons. I mean almost all weapons are blades everywhere. Except for the ol' dwarf with an axe and occasionally a hammer well i have a lotta troubles finding characters with blunt weapons.
One of my player is a mace dual wielder inquisitor and well I have found it impossible and found just a single inquisitor mini with a mace.

Now come on stop doing the standard sword stuff and try doing some exotic weapons, hammers, guisarme, net, bolas .... you name it.

I have zillions of warriors with swords and for the rest almost none.

Hi,

One of my player has an eidolon (plenty of natural attacks then) which has 2 feats.
Power attack
And touche
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/3rd-party-feats/super-genius-games/combat-fea ts/touche-combat

from Genius.
Touché (Combat)
You can make a quick, accurate attack at
the expense of hitting power.
Prerequisites: Dex 13, base attack bonus
+1.
Benefit: You can choose to take a –1
penalty to all weapon damage and combat
maneuver checks (to a minimum of 0) to
gain a +1 bonus to all melee weapon attack
rolls. This bonus to attack rolls is increased to
by an additional +1 if you are fighting with
a one-handed or light weapon in one hand,
and have nothing in your other hand. When
your base attack bonus reaches +4, and every
4 points thereafter, the penalty increased by
–1 and the bonus to attacks increases by +1.
You must choose to use this feat before
making any attack rolls, and its effects last
until your nest turn. The bonus does not
apply to touch attacks or effects that do not
deal hit point damage.

Since he's got natural attacks (considered as light then) he can use touche with a +4 to hit, -2 to dmg (Eidolon has a BAB of 6)

Power attack gives -2 to hit and +4 to dmg

If both combined it gives +2 to hit and +2dmg with all attacks (primary ones) and +2 to hit and +0 dmg with secondary attacks.

I have trouble visualising a "touché" combined with a power attack, but well may be it's just me.

Is it cheesy? Knowing that at lvl 20 he then gets +5 to hit and +5 dmg for all his primary attacks.

One could argue that he needs an empty hand but since it's all natural attacks...

OK when I look at the summoner, I see that the real beast in the eidolon NOT the summoner, I have the feeling that the summoner is only here to buff his eidolon.

One of my PC started as a summoner. In general I try to have cool items and things for my PC, specialy customized for them.

So... My question is .. what can i propose to the summoner. He's not a fighter, not really a spellcaster .... any ideas are more than welcome.

Most of the APs I read/play are usually the same in the end.

You saved the world such that nothing change in the world of Golarion. I think this is quite boring.

What I'd like in an AP is that once you've finished it, the world is not the same anymore.

Players could have unmade kings, build up armies that invade other kingdom, Islands have risen from the sea, others may have sunk, sent some gods to oblivion, whatever. But I want my player to feel truly heroic and that their name is blessed or cursed by the whole Inner sea.

So far I didn't see any of these stuffs in the AP but I've only read a few.

I understand that Paizo doesn't want to cause chaos and mayhem in their lovely world but this is becoming too dull.

could you lead me to an AP which has what I was explaining above ?

I remember in the 3.0 or 3.5 versions having read about magic weapons which were increasing in power as the lvl of the character increased.

I remember thinking "wahooo this is just great" and loved the concept.

Is there any equivalent in pathfinder and where can i find this with Paizo or 3PP ?

Thanks

Hello all.
I just want to make sure...
The BBEG has thrown a spell to the spellcaster with "spell turning' running.
So looks like the spell (dominate) is thrown back to BBEG.

I believe the BBEG can roll for DC.
Which DC shall I use ? The BBEG's original DC (I think that's the right one but I'd like to be sure) or the DC "as if" the caster had casted this spell ?

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Open question question as a DM.

One of my players has been suggested(using the "Suggestion " spell) by succubus to strip off his armour such that he can show his powerful muscles.
Another has been suggested to go see the BBG by himself and bow before him.

Would you consider these requests as reasonnable ?

Can the players do something else meanwhile.
Can the stripping off player fight meanwhile ? Can he cast spell ?
Do anything ?
Can the other one moving to the BBG cast spells while moving ?

What happens if the one who cast suggestion hurts the target ?

Thanks a lot for your help

Hello all.

I'm thinking about creating my own campaign for my players and I'm looking for ideas and may be if you have some you could share it with me.

My aims are
- try not to spend too much time in dungeons.
- I would like to have it settled in archipelagos, to have a real feeling of aventuring, discoveries, ships fights a la "Pirates of the caribbean". Something different from the european middle age fantasy we get usually. Probably low magic settings.
- They should have morality dilemnas and get surprised. And may be work for Evil or neutral clergy against good clergy. The aim is not to make evil characters but to push them to do evil things for a greater good or may be to save their lives.
- I'll probably add an horror scenario in a castle around lvl 3 to 5 as it's an old scenario i LOVE and only mastered once very successfully (My players were scared to death by any noise in the living). It's not easy to add in this but i'll try.

My ideas so far are :
- Players get hired by a priest of Abadar (or any lawful neutral god) to do something which is illegal (the players don't know this yet). Things get bad and they get arrested. They killed some people and performed a sacrilegious act. They are judged and sentenced to galleys, Of course the priest who hired them is the prosecutor and denies being involved (which makes it worse). the idea was to put the local leader of the cult in a bad position such that he has to resign. The priest who hired them is now the new leader and he wants things changed in a rather extremist way.

- Players are now used as slaves in galleys. In order to make sure they don't escape, some sort of tiny beast is implemented in their stomach. If they don't get their daily ration of Klar (an anesthesic liquid for the beast). Treatment on these galleys are brutal. Some NPCs are punished and don't get their ration of Klar of have it stolen by other galley slaves. Of course they are eaten by their beast (a la "Alien"). The PCs know that they have to get rid of this beast, but first to escape with enough doses of Klar to leave them enough time.
During the days they are used to hunt a marine beast as their raw material is very rare and used for some magical, alchemical formulas.

- At some point they will escape with enough rations of Klar, probably sinking the boat due to their escape.

- Now they will have a BIG "Damocles sword" above their head to get the way to cure them. They are obviously hunted by all the security forces around (although it's easy to hide in all these islands).

- They will get helped by a group of thieves and cut-throats who see them as rebellion leaders. They will give them some help on how to cure and remove the beast inside them .....

- They will probably fight against minions of the priest who hired them at first.

Ideas to be added and continued.

If you have some you are more than welcome !!!

thanks for your help.

Hello I know there's been a few questions on perfect strike and nonce have been answered.
Basically according to RAW Perfect strike can only be used with Core rulebook monk weapons.
As there's been no official ruling, my monk player is asking me for a DM call:

Would you allow unarmed strike to be used with Perfect strike ? By raw it's not really included. In my case, I think I would accept it. but this can be discussed

Would you allow the use of other monk weapons with this feat (temple sword is a good example)
I understand that Temple sword is much better than Siangham for example and that could be a reason why.
Temple sword 1d8 19–20/×2 compared for example to Siangham 1d6 20 ×2.

Or more simple, the guy who made the feat didn't know that more weapons were coming and so they were not included.

SO ... would you allow these with Perfect strike.

Hi

One of the trickiest part for me is when players don't come and I end up with 2 options.
1 the character is played by another player.
2 The character becomes an NPC. a lot of work for DM specially when u reach high levels.

These first 2 options may be quite tricky if things become ugly. What if the character dies ? or swears to serve the evil king ? or whatever ?

Then the 3rd possiblity is that they disappear to some other tasks.
I try to make it plausible but sometimes well the excuse is really meeeh.

Last friday 3 of my players didn't turn up for the FOTSG scenario and i was left with 2 players who really wanted to play.

They were just about to step on the storval plateau.

Basically and as had no good ideas, they disappeared in a flash only remaining the one who had the sihedron medallion and another elf who comes from another plane (it's a new player who took one of his FR character). The other characters didn't have their sihedron medallion
so they disappeared
I was too lazy to find any other excuses. Now I'm trying to find some explanations (reverse engineering)

Spoiler:

One of the character (a ranger) is quite greedy so I thought it would be quite cool to have him teleported into mokmurian's lair, chained and ready to be sacrificed in a few days with the other villagers. If he comes back I believe Conna seeing one of the powerful adventurer could help him break free with a few of his items.

two other characters: a paladin and a bard have also disappeared "by magic". The latter would be more afflicted by wrath and the former by pride.

would you have an idea of explanation of how I could explain this disappearance ?

One question also for FOTSG

Spoiler:

in mokmurians lair, where is the ritual of Sihedron supposed to happen ?
In room B11 ? I got the feeling that this room is only for storing prisonners and marking them with the rune. They are not sacrificed there IMO.
One interesting thing is the note of many dragons sacrificed and I thought the idea was just great as they are the greediest creatures on Golarion. I thought it would be cool to have all this dragons corpses and skeletons stored somewhere. My players would surely understand this reference and would find mokmurian even more frightening

One last thing, my characters are now being very sneaky and are entering the lair without combats. How would you handle it ? for Xps and rewards ?

Thanks to share feedbacks if you have some ;o)

Suppose I have a monk (or whatever) with +13/+8/+3 that gives him 3 attacks.
Now suppose that one of his feat gives him a natural attack (headbutt, bite ... you name it). it is specifically named a natural attack.
Are these natural attacks on top of the standard ones ? Or does it replace one ?

I suppose that a limb natural attack would be replaced by the weapons attack. But the monk can make all of his standard attacks with his left foot little finger if he wants. So ... do the bite for example, stack ?

Thanks a lot.

OK now my players are about to retake fort Rannick.

Question is... How will they communicate with the Fort once they get it ? Shall I add some spells on scrolls (We have a sorcerer and a paladin in the party) ?

I don't see them running back to magnimar for 10 days to get instructions.

Thanks !

I am now DMing HMM and now that my players have freed the remaining black arrows, I am left with 4 NPCs (Shalelu + 3 Black arrows) to play with my 5 PCs.

Really that's a pain in game flow during combat and I don't really like to have Cohorts and so on.

SO i'm thinking about getting rid of them or at least some of them. May be not kill them but well.

I already got the black guy poisoned and taken away to turtle ferry with Kaven...

Shalelu I think is the moot point. OK I understand what she wants to do at Fort Rannick but well I wish I had never brought her at start.

So I want to get rid of her ASAP.

Thanks If you have some ideas.

Hello all,

In skinsaw murders, one my player got killed by the "evil murderer" with a bad stench.

Anyway they went to Magnimar to get a cleric to raise the fallen comrade and I stated that Magnimar, even being a "big town" was too small (16 000 inhabitants) to have a cleric lvl 9 i.e. able to cast level 5 spells.
All they had was a druid lvl 7 able to reincarnate.

I did this because I wanted to have a bit of fun with reincarnate (although I ruled that it changed Physical AND mental trait). The human Monk got reincarnated into an elf ;o)

Do you think that's a reasonable assumption ? (although I could say i'm the boss and I can do whatever I want :) ).

Now they need to find a cleric able to cast 2 lvl 4 spells (restauration). i.e. a lvl 7 cleric.

I think i'd allow it . Which cult would be the most important in Magnimar ?

How did you rule it ?

Hey there !

Now that everyone works in metrics system... Yeah yeah ! even you ! When will, if ever, will we get a D&D in metrics system. You know ... meters, kilograms, metric tons and so on ?
Well I'm playing with a translated version of D&D (in French) and basically I'm tired of 1.5m wide corridors (5ft) and armors weighing 22.5 kilograms with all these commas to play with ?

So come on guys ? When will we see spells of radius of 10 meters and not 30ft (9m) ?
Is it just "never going to happen ?"

Chewbacca : 99 kilos and 1,91m :P

As this seems so obvious that I cannot find it, my question is :
"Who can use staves and wands ?".

Is it ... anybody ? Is it only Arcane/divine magic users ?

Can a wizard use a wand of healing ?
The same to a fighter ?
Can a bard use a staff of discharge ?

Sorry but I tried to find it.
