I don't know. It feels suspiciously like people just want to push the DM to letting them play these weird things and because they often quote the part of the recruitment where the thing is said not to be allowed you know they have read it.

Yeah, I think the monk has some other good synergy options with the kind of character that I am wanting to make.
I actually want to play a monk in this game, the story I have lined up for her isn't the traditional monk that I have in mind, but more of a bar waitress that just got used to dealing with rowdy customers. Not sure if this kind of thing is flavored correctly for this game, but I'm going to try and look into it.

I have had this idea for a strength rather than dex-based two-weapon fighter for a while but never get the okay. This avatar is the basic setup. Also are there any restrictions on books we can pull from? The write up you have is great, but I'm going to have to go no on Tome. If you could make it work in Pathfinder somehow then I'll allow it. The books being allowed depend on what we're allowing. I'm not allowing some of the classes, like the alternate and hybrid. But I would allow feats from that book you were still eligible for or spells. Same thing goes for races, I have Core and three others down, but if there's a feat from Advanced Races that might still be in if it applies to the race or class you've selected. VinGoodman wrote:
It excludes them. I'm not considering them mundane ammunition. It will include arrows, bolts and whatever it is slings fire (because in the years I've been playing no one has bothered to use the sling).
Certainly. I spent the day ill so I wasn't really on here all that much. From what I am seeing we're good on melee and there's already a rogue. I'm thinking bard, but I might go for something else entirely. I had a character built for this AP, trying to find it. I'm going to have my character up later this morning (it's 4 AM here now, need to get a bit of rest before work, but I will finish it there).
It's been a busy day, but I have a finished sheet here. I've re-named her Rhiannon Unwin and here's the sheet for her. I have an Alias that I can edit, but most of the stats and things stayed the same. Just for good measure I will post the rest of her information here with her sheet. Background: In the same way that someone is destined to be a Paladin or might feel called to the vocation of Cleric, Rhiannon is a born scholar. Being raised under the crumbling ruins of the Thassilonian Empire caused her to develop an early curiosity for the history of Golarion. Fiona, her mother, runs a bookstore in Magnimar’s Shore District. Books on the legacy of Thassilonian culture were her toys and best friends. Most of her childhood was spent in her room curled up in the company of a dusty old tome or scroll. Even before she knew the words, Rhia would stare at them for hours. Rhia grew up as the weird hermit girl. When her mother forced her to go outside and play the only kind of “play” she could manage was exploring the streets for relics (that mostly turned out to be old garbage). The other children became as annoyed with her “relic” hunts as she became with their dismissive attitude about the wonders of the history around them. Her father, Aeson the Elf, is a scholar in the Pathfinder society—he met her mother when hunting for an old text that he heard she had come by—he taught Rhia the Thassilonian language from a young age, along with Elven and Draconic. She joined the Pathfinder Society, in part, to be closer to her father, but also because it was the only thing that would make good use of her skills. Rhia is the record keeper for the Pathfinder lodge in Magnimar, but she was sent out on an assignment for the Shallowtail Festival in Sand Point, mostly because she kept annoyingly talking about the event and the fire that burned the original church down (quoting facts and reciting other things she had read). She was sent on a what should have been a distraction assignment to get her out of the office.
4d6 → [6,3,1,2] = (12)
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4647851/ 5d6 → [1,3,4,6,2] = (16)
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4647853/ So, 11
3d6*10 → 100 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4647855/ It's okay, I will think of something a little more original if that's okay. I have a few characters in the back of my mind that should fit in here.
I would like to submit a character I just lost out on a Shattered Star game with. Her name is Amy Unwin and she's a Half-Elf Rogue. I'll have to tweak her backstory a bit to fit with this game, but basically she's a Pathfinder Society member from Magnimar and I would probably just say that she's in town to see the festival because she remembers reading about the murders. 1 & 2. She's a rogue so sneak attacks and critical hits--she also could double as a back up ranged attacker. She's good at trap finding and she's very skill heavy. She's also a scholar. She could read ancient Thassalonian, Draconic and some other languages. She also has a good grasp on ancient history and culture (she had a +9 History check). 3. In my experience it takes a mix of a good DM and the right mix of characters and players to keep any game alive. PbP or otherwise. It also really helps if you encourage the players to get to know each other (experience: I ran a PbP game on another forum for two and a half years). I'll get her sheet ready because she was built on a lower point buy and post a link.

I admit this is a very limited experience on my part. The orgainized play thing interests me a little bit but I think that's because I really like the freedom most normal games offer.
Male Human Bard 2/Fighter 1
Well, here I am. Sorry about the lapse in communication. I didn't see that the thread had been made already. I don't see a reason that Lux couldn't go either way. Maybe she knows these others or maybe she doesn't. She relatively young and inexperienced--there might be something in another person's back story that she links up with. I will take a look in a bit.
I put Lux's sheet into a much easier to read format here. She should be ready to go. I used the wrong Swashbuckler last time (the 3rd Party one) and I went back and corrected that. Reposting the rest updated backstory:
Lux is the daughter of a merchant father and a dressmaker mother from the city of Absalom. Her father did much of his trading by sea and sometimes he would take Lux along with him. When she was eight they were beset by pirates while trying to avoid the Eye of Abendego. The pirates injured her father and took what cargo they could—she tried to raise a sword against them only to have them knock her out.
When she came to the pirate captain’s large tri-corner hat was resting atop her little head. That event is what led to her drive to never be taken advantage of again. As a very small girl she had bad asthma and her mother would tell her tales of brave heroines and adventure while trying to help her daughter get through the night breathing easy. She eventually outgrew most of the effects of her asthma, but her love of adventure and travel and her want to be like the women in the stories caused her to leave home at the age of twenty on one of her father’s vessels in search of a way to write her own stories. Lux Appearance: She looks like this.
She's freckly with red-orange hair and hazel eyes. Her hair is usually kept in a haphazard bun. She stands five foot six and can usually be found wearing a tri-corner hat, though sometimes it’s hooked around her neck on a cord or tied at her side.
