![]() It looks like to me that sorcerers can retrain bloodlines. This opens up some interesting opportunities to roleplay. "I always thought I was Celestial, but I went to the genealogy section of the archives, and it turns out I'm actually 3/64ths Draconic. As soon as I read that, I felt the blood of dragons, latent in my veins, boil to the surface!" What's the Golarian version of 23andMe? :) ![]()
![]() Has there been an official post about how long we will be able to continue to report PFS1 games after PFS2 launches? Even though I’ve been playing PFS since 2011, I had to take a few years off, so there’s a ton of great content out there for PFS I haven’t been able to play or run yet. Surely it, and all our PFS1 characters, won’t be obsolete overnight. Right? ![]()
![]() Is the range for tracking weapons only used for the TL check, or does it also affect distance travelled? If I fire a missile with a range of 20 and a speed of 12, on the second turn do I only get 8 hexes of movement (20-12) or does the missile continue to get the full 12 hexes of movement during successive Gunnery Phases until it either hits the target or misses its targeting check? If it keeps going, as I suspect, does it automatically fail its targeting, and become "lost" as the CRB describes it, if the original target passes outside the 20 hex range? ![]()
![]() I'm building a Lawful Good human Monk from somewhere (undetermined) in Tian Xia. What are some good source books to pull from? I know Dragon Empires Gazetteer is probably necessary. What about some other sources? I'm especially interested in sources I can pull feats and equipment from that are Society legal, but for flavor I can pull from anything. What about sources specific to Lawful Good characters? Oh, and I already have Ultimate Combat for crunch. Thanks! ![]()
![]() The Player's Guide for Legacy of Fire seems to be the only Adventure Path "Player's Guide" branded companion book that is not a free download. Some of the stuff in it is PFS legal: Quote: Equipment: all equipment on pages 22–23, all magic items on pages 26–27 (Note: handstraps of roofjumping applies to the Acrobatics skill); Feat: Sandwalker; Traits: all traits on pages 7–9 are allowed except Duskwalker Agent (Notes: Uwaga Highlander applies only to the Stealth skill and Eyes and Ears of the City applies only to the Perception skill; no campaign traits are allowed.) Are the few things in that book that are legal worth the $7.99 price for a PDF if I mainly play Organized Play? Are there any flavorful character builds that benefit from the equipment, feats or traits? Is the equipment found anywhere else? ![]()
![]() The success condition block for the scenario I'm prepping says if the PCs fulfill the success condition, "...they succeed at their mission and
Can more than one faction be associated with the same faction boon? I thought the point of a faction boon was that it was particular to one faction. ![]()
![]() Is there a way to get my GM credit for running a game moved from one character to another? Somehow my credit for our last PFS sessions got added to the wrong character, and now it's saying it doesn't count, because that character already has that chronicle applied. Also, is there a way to get credits applied where I have the chronicle but the GM didn't report the session, and is now unavailable? (And I mean "unavailable." I think he may be going to prison.) ![]()
![]() Does anyone ever organize games on cruise ships? My wife and I are going on a cruise in September, and if I've got my iPad, I can run or play Pathfinder or Pathfinder Society. I may take that week off from gaming, but if I'm jonesing for Pathfinder while we're on the ship, I may organize a game. What do you think the chances would be that I could get anyone to play? ![]()
![]() As we are all geeks here, and not strangers to the pedantic, I thought I'd point out something that has been bothering me about the Campaign Setting. Rahadoum is described in various campaign setting works as "atheistic," but I think that it might be more correct to say that they are either dystheistic or misotheistic. These two philosophical positions represent the idea that the gods are real and powerful (which even those in Rahadoum would freely admit) but that all gods are inherently corrupt and unworthy of worship, despite what their followers might preach. Basically it's like this: a-theist = no god(s)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dystheism
I know one of the objections would be "well, everyone knows the word 'atheism' and nobody has ever heard of these other two." Well, when I was in junior high school and started playing roleplaying games for the first time, I spent a lot of time with a big dictionary looking up all the words that I'd never seen before, and I was better off for it. What think ye, Pathfinders? ![]()
![]() How do you handle keeping a party at the same level, when you've got people who either don't show up, or only show up intermittently? Also, what about people who show up halfway through the module, two game nights into the adventure? Should they get the XP that the rest of the party gets who are there every game night? I run out of a game store, so I can't turn anyone away. Plus, I like to bring in new players to the game. It just plays heck with my continuity and party leveling schedule. ![]()
![]() My party just finished Master of the Fallen Fortress, and I'm thinking of running them through The Godsmouth Heresy, even though two of them are almost 2nd level, because a lot of the players came into MotFF late, or only showed up for a few sessions, so they're behind in XP and trailing the two dependable players by more than half a level's worth. Alternately, thinking about throwing them into Crypt of the Everflame, and just working out the logistics of running it with characters not originally from Kassen. Any other good modules for use as a followup to MotFF, that are 1st or 2nd level modules? ![]()
![]() I need to get a confirmation of something, because there was some confusion on FreeRPG Day with respect to "Dawn of the Scarlet Sun." Dawn was an adventure for 5th level characters, and at my local shop we had many new Pathfinder players on FreeRPG day who wanted to play that adventure, and they were interested in running the scenario for PFS credit. I had them generate fifth level PFS legal characters. We played the scenario and, as they say, a good time was had by all. Later, I listened to a podcast episode where the high-level adventure Scenario #46: Eyes of the Ten—Part I: Requiem for the Red Raven was discussed. The guest from Paizo said that the system does not allow for higher than 1st level characters to be generated for Pathfinder Society play. Is this correct? If it is, I just need to go back and give actual XP to my players and collect their Chronicle sheets. I just need to know if it is the case that new PFS characters always start at first level. I can't find it in the Guide to Society Play. Thanks. |
