Patcher: After careful consideration, I think I'm going to bow out on this one. I'm concerned that when life gets busy, which it does often enough, that I'd be spreading myself too thin. And I don't want the Kingmaker rp to suffer because of that. It looks like you have a big enough pool of excellent candidates here anyway. I may still pursue the other JR pbp as the posting rate seems a good bit slower over there. Just wanted you to know that this is no reflection on you, if I do decide to do that. And Kingmaker will definitely get priority, should I get selected.
Thanks for the opportunity.
I'm also interested in this AP and would love the opportunity to give it a try. I'm thinking of a half-elf witch that I started to work up for another game that never happened. I'll come back with a backstory later today. In the meantime: Roll 1:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15 Roll 2:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11 Roll 1 it is.
Well, the core book says: "A character who has not yet acted during a combat is flat-footed, unable to react normally to the situation. A flat-footed character loses his Dexterity bonus to AC and Combat Manuever Defense (CMD) (if any) and cannot make attacks of opportunity." So, technically, if they've acted, they're no longer flat-footed.
PrinceofDarkness wrote: @ Broven: sorry due, was working from my smart phone, and didnt even read your post. Late night posting al;ways seems to make em miss something. Feel free to make a witch, i can create a different character. No worries at all. I made up an alchemist instead (Ingle) and am already starting to like him. I like your take on the familiar as a brother thing. Should be amusing. :)
Ok, I've just realized something. Once I reach 8th level, if I'm ever reduced below 0 hp while raging I'm instantly dead. I would loose 16 hp from ending my rage due to unconsciousness. So, I think I need the Diehard feat so that I can maintain my rage long enough to get some help. But since I took Guarded Life rage power at 2nd level, that pretty much borks Diehard. It turns the lethal damage into non-lethal (which Diehard does nothing for) and leaves me unconscious, ending my rage and killing me. So, can I be a complete pain in the ass and change the rage power I picked? For what it's worth, I never actually used it. And I promise I'll try my best not to ask this kind of thing again. First time playing a barb, so I'm just figuring things out. If you'd rather I didn't, no biggy. I'll just have to be careful once we get to higher levels.
My problems with Maptools continue. Now when I try to launch it I get a message that Java can't create the virtual machine. If I launch the program from the website it works fine... Tried reinstalling Java to no avail. Oh well, at least I can use the web launcher to get it to run. Just a bit annoying.
So, I was thinking, since we are all from the same town, do we want to do something like telling the kind of things the others might know about their characters? I'm assuming the town isn't so big that we wouldn't have at least heard of each other. Or would you rather save that for the game, Talsar?

I'm sure Talsar will check here eventually. Pathfinder's a good system. If you've played 3.5 you've already got most of it (though PF is superior in my opinion). There are some obvious changes like grapple, but it's the subtle differences that may trip you up at first. Basically, just don't assume anything works the same as 3.5 until you've read it in the book. I don't want to be weird about it (I think it's awesome that you're getting your daughter into the hobby) but I feel inclined to ask about her maturity level. For example, are you wanting to avoid mature content in the game? Like no hitting on the barmaids, no swearing, things like that... Or is she old enough that that won't freak her (or you) out? I hope I don't seem out of line. I'm really not trying to be. But kids are different, and parents are different, so I'd like to get an idea of where all of that stands, if you know what I mean.
Wolfsnap, Thanks for posting these! I spend the majority of my workday listening to Actual Play podcasts so I'm always looking for new ones. It also helps with the fact that my current group is all but broken up now, so these podcasts are the only way for me to scratch this particular itch right now. Also, let me throw my vote in for hearing your game, Erik. I would love to hear how the Dev's play!
Maybe some of you number crunchers can help me out here. I'm looking at the Adult Cloud Dragon's skills and I have two questions. 1. Does it have too many skills? It seems like it should only have 9, not 10. 2. On the swim skill I seem to be getting a wildly different number. They show +15. But isn't it +34 [+16 ranks, +3 class skill, +8 racial bonus, +7 STR]? Thanks.
