Good morning,

I am attempting to sign up for the three-part All For Immortality series at Paizo Con Online this month but the remaining open sessions for Parts I and II are both running at the same time (7:00 pm - 12:00 am) on Saturday night. Since I only want to play these three scenarios and I have to purchase a badge in order to grab them should the right person drop or change their schedule, am I able to receive a refund for my badge fees if I cannot add all three of these scenarios? Thanks.

As the subject says, will PFS1 scenarios be offered at Gen Con this year? Specifically, the higher level later seasons scenarios such as 10-22 and 10-23 (the Passing the Torch two-part from 2019 I believe). I'm trying to find something for my level 18 monk, besides possibly Shattered Star book 6. Thanks all!

With level+2 auto bonus progression, would having all the monk vows be remotely viable?

Vows increase ki at:
+1 level (poverty)
+1/3 level (chains)
+1/5 level (celibacy)
+1/5 level (cleanliness)
+1/5 level (peace)
+1/5 level (truth)
+1/6 level (fasting)
+1/6 level (silence)

Taking all the vows would give about 2 and 7/15 ki points a level- a bit less than 3 per level after including the regular 1/2 level increases. This would be in exchange for Still Mind (+2 vs enchantments), and the monk vow problems. Is it worth it? If not, which vows would be best to drop?

As of the second printing of Ultimate Magic and its .pdf, Vow of Silence was increased to +1/1 level. The thread is located here: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2qxm2?Monk-Vow-of-Silence-Discrepency. As of yet and to the best of my knowledge no developer has reversed this. Just something to consider.

I noticed the same thing while writing my post, and plan to confirm with WizKids next week. The last communication I have from them says 3 Long Barfront Sections, but you're right that the picture suggests otherwise.

I _suspect_ that they didn't use two long bar sections to match the width of the four shelf sections, but that's just a guess.

I will let you guys know if we need to make a correction.

Erik, thanks for confirming this. I would guess your assumption is correct, as adding two additional Long Barfront Sections would have extended it considerably beyond the four Bar Shelf Sections.

It looks really awesome, and I am anxiously awaiting the January release. Thanks again!

The bar looks amazing. I hope it will be a big success and lead to other sets such as a wizard's study, a temple, and a throne room.

I really like your idea. At this point I am scrambling to see if I can nail down a second case incentive, since I am only receiving one with my case.

Actually, there are five long sections for the bar. There is one going back from the left corner piece. Three per set seems right, in order to make a one by two "L" shaped bar.

There are actually four Long Barfront Sections and two Corner Pieces in the image.

Scarab Sages

Erik,

The update states: "This image includes two complete case incentive sets, plus a lot of figures and some dungeon dressing from the full set. The final piece list for a single case incentive box is:

•3 Long Barfront Sections
•1 Corner Piece
•2 Bar Shelf Sections
•1 Table
•6 Bottles (2 sets of 3)
•2 Barrels
•1 Small Keg
•4 Stools"

I only see a total of four long barfront sections, yet if the single case incentive includes three long barfront sections and the image includes two complete case incentive sets, shouldn't we see a total of six long barfront sections in the image?

Would you please confirm if a single case incentive includes two or three long barfront sections? Thanks.

Update:

Valtyra Godspeak (Female Idyllkin Life Oracle) has now reached level 16 after completing Wardens of the Reborn Forge. She is the protégé of V-C Brother Harsk the Constant, level 18 dwarf monk). She has brought him great honor.

John, I appreciate the feedback. Is this acceptable as far as PFS is concerned? I just want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong or illegal. Thank you.
Yes, in the past we have advised not rebuilding or retraining partway through an adventure, including giving play-by-post games a few weeks' grace period to finish up under the previous FAQ/rules/printing.

Thank you very much, John. I will let my GM know.

I have an honest question, and am not trying to stir up anything in the process.

My PFS group is currently in the middle of playing Wardens of the Reborn Forge, having completed the first two parts and hopefully playing the third and final part soon.

I currently have a level 14 Aasimar (Idyllkin) Life Oracle, who took the Aasimar alternate FCB to increase her effective caster level from 14 to 21 when channeling. She currently channels 11d6 with a DC of 29 when channeling to harm undead.

As a result of the recent errata, her effective caster level when channeling would drop from 21 to 16, reducing the channel amount to 8d6 and the DC to 27.

How do I apply this errata to my PFS character in the middle of a PFS sanctioned module? The alternate FCB seems quite useless now, so do I get to put my FCB points into HP and/or skill ranks? Any other alternatives? Thanks in advance.

This could either be offered directly through Paizo (easiest and would offer incentive for people to purchase from Paizo)

They do this already. If you have a subscription to a product line, the send you a free pdf when the hard copy book ships.

Unique Product codes are hard to do because then you need a whole support team to deal with people stealing product codes from books on the shelf to get the pdf for free

I agree with you on the code issue as it would require some overhead.

Regarding the subscription, some people may not want to participate in that as they may feel they are being locked in to buy products. My idea was specifically for those individuals who choose not to subscribe.

Scarab Sages

I realize this may be heresy, but what about the idea of including (for free or at a reduced price) the watermarked pdf when someone purchases a hard copy of the reference material? This could either be offered directly through Paizo (easiest and would offer incentive for people to purchase from Paizo) or via a one-time use code in the material when purchased from a flgs (this would require a few extra steps to acquire the pdf). That way a person can support both Paizo and their flgs. Frog God Games does this with their products (you may purchase the hard copy/free pdf combination or the pdf only) and it seems to work very well. Just a thought.

Scarab Sages

Kudos, Josh. Well deserved.

Curse of the Crimson Throne please. It would be very cool to have it updated from 3.5 to Pathfinder RPG and I enjoyed the AP very much.

Monks full BAB for the win!!! I love the other ideas as well, but am fascinated at the changes coming for the monk class.

Jason, I think I love you!

shame these are so expensive. I could maybe swing it for $25, but $30 is just too expensive for 6 minis.

Miniature Market sells these sets for $20.00 (33% discount). There are a number of retailers that discount the sets.

Since the chest is one of the dungeon dressing pieces there will only be one (or a maximum of two) in a sealed case. At least that is how I am reading Erik's description.

Scarab Sages

My 14th level life oracle wears boots of striding and springing to get 30' of movement and carries a normal metamagic rod of reach. This works well as long as I begin my turn no more than 90' away from my party members.

The rod is not cheap (11,000 gp) but it can come in very handy since it can be used on level 1-6 spells.

It will be GLORIOUS!!! I've never been a huge power gamer, and I must admit I have a soft spot for monks. They typically work as really good battlefield controllers.

Nice choice. Good luck and have fun!

I always prepare my characters as if they will be audited. Everything is noted/documented on my character sheets themselves and on older chronicles. I always have my chronicles and updated ITS for each of my characters. My math is correct. That's how I assist the GMs running for me. It works. GMs appreciate it and it keeps me on my toes regarding rules and rules changes.

I did not have the opportunity or good fortune to meet Rick, but I certainly wish I had and I feel sadder for not having known him.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the NJ PFS community.

Rick, I wish you good journeys. May you always roll high.

Erik, I realize you are incredibly busy. I just had an unacceptable experience with WizKids regarding the Feiya/Irovetti replacement agreement with Paizo. I would rather keep this between you, me and WizKids. Is it possible for me to pm you with information? Please let me know. Thanks very much.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge the replacements for these miniatures are not yet ready for distribution. Last news we heard about these was here.

It would have been nice if someone from WizKids could have communicated the current situation with you. I'm not certain if you included a note with your minis, indicating that you were looking for replacements due to the quality control defects identified? I would like to think though that since you likely sent them 3 unbroken miniatures, that they would have been able to figure it out regardless though -- or at least it should have prompted an e-mail to you to confirm.

Thank you for the update. I was not aware the replacement minis were not yet ready/available. This frustrates me even more, as I specifically noted on the required form included in the box these three minis were to be replaced per the Paizo and WizKids agreement. I also sent their "customer service" three emails requesting updates as they never updated my RMA. It still has not been updated.

Wouldn't it have made more sense, after reading my form and realizing the replacement minis were not yet available, for WizKids to email me and say, "Hi, the replacement minis are not yet available. You have two choices: we hold on to these minis and replace them with the kinder, gentler versions when they finally are available; or, we'll send these back to you and you may resend them when we are ready to replace them properly."

Very. Very. Frustrated.

I like your idea, though. It makes a lot of sense. Which is probably why WizKids will not incorporate it. That, and it would cost them money.

Scarab Sages

I feel like I must vent my strong displeasure regarding my Feiya/Irovetti replacement experience with WizKids.

I sent in my horrible Feiyas (two) and Irovetti on December 8. Today I received in the mail:

1. An equally craptastic Feiya complete with the melted face and smiley face.

2. A Baba Yaga mini from RoW.

3. A Janni from LoG complete with horrible face.

So, I lost one of my Feiyas, got a Feiya that still sucks and lost my only Irovetti to be replaced by a mini I did not want.

All-in-all, a really bad experience. This is why I will no longer be buying Pathfinder Battles minis. My suggestion to Paizo: partner with a miniature company that actually gives two hoots about the quality of their products.

Scarab Sages

You may want to consider a Shirt of Immolation if you're not considering anything else for that slot. It allows you to do 1d6+10 extra fire damage per round to a grappled opponent for ten rounds per day.

I think tetoris are very cool. When I was already playing my monk character I considered it but was not crazy about losing Flurry of Blows.

Have fun with the character. My PFS monk is currently level 18 and getting ready to play Shattered Star Book 6.

Thanks for the clarification. I removed the case subscription from my cart as I was hoping this would help offset the rather expensive shipping costs. I will have to look elsewhere.
