A must play if you are aligned with Scarab Sages

5/5

Might be my favorite scenario of all time, and I’ve played Eyes of the Ten and All for Immortality. Feels like a real payoff for the Scarab Sages faction.

Library adventuring at its best

5/5

Had a great time playing this - certainly helps to have an ace GM like James McTeague running. I've been wanting to see the research rules from Mummy's Mask in a scenario, and Blackros Connection delivers. Great mix of skills and research, and an RP wrinkle that I think added to the backstory of every character at the table on the spot. I also really enjoyed the meta-plot connections, both from prior scenarios and specials, and for pointing towards new things in the future.

I enjoyed this scenario, although as other reviewers have noted, I think Act 1 could have been shorter. Some clever mechanics with the monsters in the latter parts.

Party with Demons & Mammoth Lords

5/5

I recently played this scenario at the high tier. Overall, we had a great time. No doubt, variable elements like the GM and the players contributed to my enjoyment, but several of the “set pieces” in this scenario felt very cinematic. After the first fight, we talked about the title of the Pathfinder Chronicle report that we’d write (cover creature + charm monster was involved) – as we progressed, each new fight brought a new “headline.” Any scenario that contains the words “ocular precipitation” gets a bonus star to the review.

I also appreciated the choice elements, both in how to approach/deal with some obstacles as well as contributing to the larger season arc. As a local venture officer said, you can imagine the follow-up scenario based on the central choice that you make. I hope we don’t have to wait until season 6 to see the repercussions.
