![]() Ragnar av Gundrun, I didn't realize when I was writing my in-character post, but yours is not too far off mine. Both deal with shady stuff going on in the back alleys. I'm now picturing you and Rosabel getting me out of that, lol. A human ninja heading to gunslinger (mysterious stranger) dissident, a virtuous human dual-talent cleric of Sarenrae and an amoral cynical mercenary human bloodrager? This is starting to sound fun, lol. Good dynamics there. ![]()
![]() Blythe Astor, a female human from Corentyn, Cheliax. Background and blurb: The daughter of the notorious 'Bleeding Rosa', Blythe has always been into gun-running. While she herself is not wanted in as many countries as her mother was, she still travels with caution. Gun-running paid her bills...most of the time...but the things that fire her up are corruption in the governments of the world and oppression of vulnerable people. Most recently she delivered a shipment of hand cannons to a rather large, gray-skinned merchant in Magnimar, who was taking them to somewhere in the Iron Peaks. She doesn't ask questions. She's stopped by Magnimar to visit her aunt Amele, Uncle Alergast, and little Aeren and Verah, whom she has not seen since they were infants. She is from Corentyn, Cheliax, called Port Indomitable, or the City of Nine Forts. She is a ninja, and will take levels in gunslinger (mysterious stranger). Her current build is roughly what she will be, but is not to your specs yet. If I'm chosen I will adjust everything as the group goes through introductions and whatnot. She carries a broken gun that was her mother's before she died at sea against the Magnimaran navy (as far as she knows). She is Chaotic Neutral. What that means for me: She is not chaotic annoying. The way I play CN is this: "I trust my gut, and I don't judge. I fight for “them” that cannot fight for themselves. I will burn the system down to save as many people as I can, and I will sacrifice myself or anyone else for the cause. The system IS the corruption." She is not about obeying laws and distrusts authority. She believes that killing one innocent to save five is the right call. She believes in a "cause" almost more than individuals who might be a part of that cause. So if she can do something that "hurts the slave-lords of Sandpoint" she will choose that before she would choose to help an individual slave sometimes. She will (hopefully) grow out of that mindset. It is a mindset of conflict that is preferable to nurturing and is really about protecting herself emotionally from feelings of responsibility and shame. Blythe grunted as her face was slammed into the wet pavement. She could feel a cut on her cheek as the city guard who was accosting her put his knee in her back. He laughed, searching through her pockets, being a bit free with his wandering hands. "Who do we have here?" he said, drawing out her papers. "Yadira Larke. From Qadira. Age 64. Well, that seems unlikely." The other guards laughed. They were detaining several street urchins, who were trying to yank their elbows free and run. "I'm going to slit your throat in front of the magistrate, and he's going to thank me you pompous—oof!" The guards broke out laughing as Blythe was struck in the face again. One of the children kicked the guard holding her hard in the shin, shoved one of the other guards, and in the ensuing tussle all three kids scrambled away, ignoring the yells pursuing them out of the alley. Blythe laughed, dirty water getting in her mouth. The guard hissed at her. "What's so funny, missy? Got what you wanted? Those little beggars got away, and you're the hero, yeah?" "I don't give a toss, you moron. I wasn't trying to free them. I was just trying to beat your shorter-than-I-thought-possible ass for thinking you had a right to harass them." She strained to peer back over her shoulder, then at the other guards. "Seriously. How is he that short?" With a menacing growl, the guard punched her face into the cobblestones again, and the others joined in, kicking her everywhere. Blythe grunted and cried, trying to scream in anger, in rage, almost laughing as she sobbed through what was surely one of her ribs being broken. Suddenly, a huge boom echoed through the ally. The guards tripped over themselves and her as they fled. The water on the ground tasted coppery now. Or perhaps that was her. Her vision was blurry, the world wavering as the clouds opened up, rain splashing down like a haunting embrace, its cold fingers caressing her skin as a dark figure loomed over her, stooping low. She gave in to the embrace, her consciousness sinking below the waves into deep, quiet, peace.

![]() Oh this is just fantastic." Blythe swears, slapping a bug against her neck. "Ah! If another bug bites me, I'm going to blast it to Minkai!" She waves her pistol around threateningly at a perceived villainous threat, as a fly buzzes lazily by, unconcerned. ![]()

![]() I had leveled once in Ninja, but forgot to notate the level; added everything else, though. 3rd level
Hit points 1d10 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 (+1 favored class)
4th level
Hit points 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
I believe I'm at a +4 Defense bonus now...correct me if I'm wrong, DaWay. How many Hero points do we get? And are we full HP's again? ![]()

![]() Thank you, Cerinn. DaWay is there time for me to do this in the campaign, and do I need to make any rolls? And why in the name of sodding chimpanzees with pogo-sticks would Blythe need to have curative miracles wasted on her? :) ![]()

![]() Blythe fires at the little creature, then takes a step back and reloads. Crunch: If I am within 30 ft., attack and damage are +1 from Point-blank shot. Blythe levels her gun at the quasit, and fires using Deadly aim 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 vs. touch Defense if within 20 ft., for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 points of potential damage, and then takes a 5 ft. step back and reloads.
About psyrusUhm, psychic! No, not a government remote viewer - a combat precognitive. Specially trained to correctly respond to "pre-stimulus go-no-go", translation; I can dodge bullets... |
