Hey All-- Just saying that after a few weeks of thinking about it, I haven't found a character or a story that I'd like to tell with that character within CotCT. I won't be coming back, not because I don't appreciate the GM or the party, but that I'm lacking the motivation to make it go. Best of luck with 'VenCarlo'. -Baer
Baer does not budge from her place in line, deciding to embrace Pharasma's judgement. She's had enough of the pain of life.
Mavor: Baer scratches her ass, looks at the long line, and waits impatiently. Unlife sucks.
Somewhere in the line of souls awaiting Pharasma's judgement, a female half-orc waits patiently in line. For some reason, she shakes her ghostly head and says "Dayamn," but really doesn't know why...but she does. Then she focus back on the line, patiently awaiting her fate.
Decision is up to you, of course, but why not? Meh. Just don't love Baer build/character. With the slow pacing sometimes, I find it hard to keep in mind all that she can do mechanically because it's slow...I don't have a great feel for her class and if we're going slow, then details slip, let alone character stuff. If I come back into the campaign, it will be something that I don't have to worry that much about.
Or wish for a million genies to grant you more wishes.
A note to Quorthos: Don't waste a wish on Baer. She doesn't wish to come back.

Baer falls to the ground, her staff falling from her hands. She still wants to grunt, but the life force fades from her eyes before she can.

Round 1 Baer explains what she knows of the Asura, and then joins Quorthos in bringing some fire to the fire party. She spins her staff of the pyre lord, evoking the magic within to cast Scorching Ray. touch to hit;

Baer then 5' steps forward to receive the foe should it move up. Baer Combat Stats:

Baer smiles as her remedy seems to be helping Quorthos. "See, Boy? There you go. I fixed it." Baer slaps Quorthos soundly on the back, happy to not lose another companion. Baer grabs what seems valuable, then picks up Mavor again. She will lay him down before they open the double doors suggested by Tural. She will inspect the double doors behind the illusionary wall. Perception Then open them when others are ready.
Heal (untrained) Baer tries to help Quorthos' wounds, doing what she usually does when she's hurt or bit. She grabs some dirt from the floor and begins to rub it into Quorthos' wound. "Boy, Sit still! This is for your own good!"
Baer turns her head from the stunning heat, turning back to see the devastation in the room. She whistles, glad she wasn't within. That blast would have *hurt*. She is pleased to see the smoldering corpse of the snake man a minute later. For the first time since Mavor's death, she offers a weak smile. "About time we caught a break. We needed that one. We needed that," Baer grunts as she goes over to see if any magics remain in the room or on the snake man. "Good job, Imoya." Maybe she's not so bad.
Baer stares dumbly at the not-iron cobras, wishing she knew more of the natural beasts.
Baer examines the large iron cobras, trying to figure out how best to smash them into scrap metal. Know (Arcana)
"We have no idea where the Sensechal nor Blackjack might be...which means we need to search everywhere. They might not have spotted anything secreted or illusionary." Baer is happy to follow Quorthos to his set of double doors, gently setting Mavor down before the doors are opened so she has two hands with which to fight. She nods to Quorthos to open the doors when others are ready.
Baer sets Mavor down for a moment while the party decides which way to go. Her initial anger has settled to a quiet wrath, and the constant weight of the corpse keeping the anger fresh. I will carry you my brother...and you might be. If you didn't know your father as I didn't. After a moments rest and stretching out her limbs, she picks up Mavor again, ready to move to the double doors.
Baer grunts, agreeing more with Quorthos than anyone else. "Blackjack too. He's at fault for this. Could have waited for us. Could have helped us. But no...running for the glory."
Baer grunts, following the group down the tunnel. She still carries Mavor, not knowing what else to do.
Baer stiffens, waiting for something that she can't define. She will point out the secret door.
Baer looks around, as much to find a place to rest as to spot danger. Perception "I feel tired and wiped out though we have barely done anything. Mavor's loss was so senseless. So unnecessary."
Baer continues to bring Major with her, carrying him on her shoulder. "Let's move on." Baer walks to the aquatic exit.
Baer eventually regains her feet, her face a mask of anger. She carefully gathers Mavor's possessions and stows them away, then picks up the body and slings it over her shoulder . "Let's go. The sooner we find that bastard Blackjack, the sooner we can get out of here," Baer grunts, hefting the very heavy half orc. Baer will go further down the paths.
Baer moves over to Mavor, looking down upon the fallen warrior. She gently taps him with his foot, as if thinking he will rise again. When he does not rise and smile and be Mavor again, she lowers to a knee, resting most of her weight on her staff as she bows her head. "Those piddlespotters," Baer's hands turn white on her staff, her rage becoming unfocused. "He shouldn't be dead here...or anywhere. But the Arkonas, and the Queen...and all the rest will pay for this. And remind me to stick my foot in Blackjack's ass when I see him, too. We're out here chasing his ass." Baer sobs and sits and stews, her anger building and subsiding as she kneels near Mavor's body.
Ferocity kills another PC? Nope. Seems like you didn't even get the chance to do that. I'm hoping there is an error with the math someplace, but understand if there is not. Dayamn.

Not sure why she would or would not be resistance to fire, and prefer to role play out things like this. Best of luck with whatever you decide to blow up. Baer will respond as appropriate.
Denario casts Grease on the scimitar of the skeleton in front of him. Concentration He draws a blunt weapon from wherever he keeps them. He wishes he had nice legs, like Baer, but can't think about that now.

Baer moves to the bottom, awaiting the party. She floats above the boat until they arrive, her staff nervously a-twirl in her hands. "Let's go. Not sure how far the others got...and how the boat got back here if Vencarlo already left."
Baer ponders prying out the bloodstones, but decides against it. When others start moving down, she will follow the group. As they reach the bridged area, Baer will invoke her feet to give herself flying, allowing her to scout the area before having others follow. She will examine the bridges and the water for safety/dangers. In general, she will avoid being too close to the walls or water, trying to espy danger before it threatens the party. Perception
Baer grunts. "What the hell is this place? Why would they build it," Baer grunts again. "These people are not to be trusted. At all." Baer watches Mavor's ministrations and hopes for the best...even as she strolls over to check out the fountain and the surrounding garden. Perception
Baer wonders how Tural is able to walk with his tail so far between his legs as they move away. "What the heck happened?" Baer asks after they are out of earshot. "I sort of missed it."
Baer grumps and realizes the party now needs to go into the labrynth. She stomps to the maze and readies to go in (saying passwords and phrases and little dances as necessary). Once they are out of earshot of any Arkonas, Baer will grunt and grump up a fury. "Piddlespot, piddlespot, piddlespot. I don't like this at all. And I don't trust them Arkonas. They might not be on the Queen's side, but they definitely aren't on our side. This isn't right," Baer grouses, preparing.
Baer remains neutral on this. She thinks this is all ridiculous, but will go along with it if others are fine with it. Baer grunts, torn between questions unasked and actions to be taken.
Know (Local) Baer shrugs, not having heard of it. However, she is confused. "Why...why can't you go get the Seneschal? Isn't this your place? And why do you have a place that you can't go?"
Baer nods, agreeing with Tural and continuing to let the tree lead the conversation. You're doing great, Tural. Keep going.
Diplomacy to aid Baer picks her nose with her larger tusk. It's a good party trick that she feels can't do anything but impress the royalty.
Baer smiles and tries not to tromp in too much street muck with her. She wipes her feet and enters last, nervous about hanging about 'fancy people'. She doesn't deign to take a cushion, like Tural, but remains standing and nervous. Maybe this is a bad idea. She looks around at all the wealth and shakes her head. She could never afford all this. She feels outclassed. Baer opens her mouth to answer Gloria, but then shuts it...afraid of what she might say.
When the timing seems right, Baer will join Tural and the others in meeting the Arkonas. "I am Baer," Baer grunts her full name and smiles politely.
Baer waits, knowing that her usual manner of interaction can ruffle some feathers. "I hope he doesn't die up there," Baer grunts to anyone else who is also waiting.
Baer agrees with Tural. "Yeah, just a general audience. We're not looking to hurt anyone. We just want to know about the guy. They probably have heard of us...and probably know we're not fans of the Queen. But who really knows?"
