Quorthos tries to remain impassive, but he doesn't like what just happened. When the group is out of earshot:

"Why didn't your spell work, Tural? What is this Arkona guy, anyway?
I agree with Baer, I don't trust them at all. Is the Seneschal even down in this place, or are they just sending us into their "problem disposal" cave?"
He shakes his head angrily. "And what is up with Vencarlo? Why would he go off alone, doesn't he trust us? I'm starting to wonder exactly which part of this city is worth saving..." he trails off, having voiced too many of his doubts at once.

"Assuming you're fine with it, I'll ash our oppositions within the labyrinth with haste... I do not sense your hero or bureaucrat will have long."

You head straight to the garden, which is inside a chamber that hardly seems to be part of a palace — it seems more like a clearing at the heart of a vast jungle, teeming with life. The sky above is a deep, cloudless blue, while in the distance, hazy towers of distant structures rise above the verdant canopy. Exotic bird calls fill the air, the scent of dozens of unfamiliar flowers and plants assault the nose, and everywhere a riot of color demands the eye, be it the wing of a tropical bird, the petals of a brightly hued flower, or the glittering multicolored tiles that make up a round fountain to the north, its central plume a stone pillar around which entwine two cobra statues that clutch green gems in their fanged maws. Opposite the fountain to the south stands an immense, life-sized jade statue of an elephant, a howdah perched on its back, its tusks and trunk raised high in greeting to the southeast doors — doors that, from inside the room, look more like gates set into a wrought iron fence that encircles the garden. Other gates set in this fence doubtless lead to other parts of the palace, and after a bit more observation the somewhat static nature of the jungle and landscape becomes apparent — the walls of this garden are in fact an incredibly realistic and clever painting of a Vudran junglescape.

DC 20 Perception / Survival:
There's blood on a patch of grass a few feet in front of the elephant. It also looks like something the size of a humanoid body was placed there briefly.

Nothing happens when the phrase is spoken, which could be a good sign. Mavor then steps onto the 10-foot-diameter stone platform on which the elephant stands and looks for the button, which he finds at the disc's center after some searching. He also finds a large circular secret trap door.

Mavor presses the button, which causes the entire disk to slowly rotate as if it were an immense cap unscrewing from a container. The platform makes a 180-degree turn, and as it does so, a curved opening appears, granting access to a flight of spiral stairs that descend into the ground. The elephant still doesn't move, and the water elemental in the fountain doesn't come after you.

Baer wanders over to the fountain and, from up close, sees there's indeed a large water elemental in it. The creature watches her as she watches it. Baer notices the two gems in the cobra mouths on the fountain are bloodstones.

Detect Magic on the bloodstones:
One of the bloodstones radiates divination magic. Someone's probably watching you.

When you head down the stairs:
You end up in a vast grotto where the air is cool. The iron-framed flight of spiral stairs you descended from winds up through a hole in the ceiling in the northwest section of the room from the top of a semicircular ledge. The ledge winds down along the cavern’s inner wall to a series of rope bridges that descend even lower from ledge to ledge. The upper ledge, before it reaches the ropes, is a strangely breathtaking beauty — a garden of all manner of strangely colored fungi, lichens, and molds. The fungi have been cultivated, shaped into all manner of symmetrical patterns normally not seen in nature, transforming the ledge into a sort of underground fungal garden. Here and there, flickering torches burn in sconces above the fungi, while from somewhere in the darkness below comes the soft splash of water against an unseen shore.

Baer discovers the three rope ladders descend even deeper into the cave, connecting three progressively lower ledges on the wall until finally reaching a stony protrusion at ground level. This protrusion rises from a rocky beach overlooking the sloshing waters of a sea cave. At the bottom of the vast cavern, a single wooden pier extends out into a gently sloshing pool of sea water. A shallow-draft barge is docked at the pier, a single unlit lantern hanging from its bow. Supporting timbers and brickwork line parts of the lower edge of the cave to the west and south, showing where the original sea cave has been artificially expanded. To the north, a twenty-five-foot-wide waterway provides an aquatic exit from the cave—the distant, muted sounds of the surf echo down from that direction.

@Mavor: It's not flat-footed. It had a surprise round. Would you prefer to do something else than you posted, based on that? The charge is fine.

Quorthos and Tural have no idea what exactly the creature is. They only know it's some kind of combination of a plant and skeleton.

Quorthos dimensional slides out of the cloud and unleashes two scorching rays at the undead. Both of the rays hit the undead, but strangely it resists most of the damage.

Mavor swings his greataxe at the skeleton before him, now flanking with Baer he thinks this would not last long.

Attack, Flank, Power Attack, Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 161d12 + 7 + 6 + 1 + 3d6 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 6 + 1 + (2, 3, 5) = 35

If the first one is down before that, Mavor will move down to assist Denario. Forget the +2 Flanking and Sneak Attack then.

@Mavor: You're not up yet, but I'll save your actions for when you are. (You're up when your name's bold.)

@Everyone: Anyone wants to post the other half of Denario's actions?

No one wants Denario? Okay...

Denario casts Grease on the scimitar of the skeleton in front of him. DC15 reflex or drop it.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Concentration

He draws a blunt weapon from wherever he keeps them. He wishes he had nice legs, like Baer, but can't think about that now.

Sheeeee-it...that cost me a crit.

Majenko moves out of the spore cloud and flies to safety, unsure of what he could do to contribute versus these enemies.

Imoya moves out of the cloud as well and sends two scorching rays at the first skeleton to have appeared. The rays hits the skeleton, but it resists a large portion of the fire damage.

Ref: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Denario casts grease on the weapon the undead he bumped into is holding. It drops its scimitar, while Denario draws his morningstar.

Denario had only 1 move or standard action left, but lets say he draws his morningstar as part of his earlier move action.

Fort, Denario: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Denario's unable to exit the spore cloud, but luckily his good fortitude prevents him from feeling icky.

Denario's AoO; Morningstar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Ref: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Denario takes a swing at undead #2 when it bends up and picks up its greasy scimitar, but his attack bounces off the undead's shield.

Scimitar: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Undead #2 brings its scimitar down on Denario, delivering another cut.

On the bridge north of Quorthos yet another undead appears. Its mouth is wide open, and like the first undead it breathes out a cloud of spores that covers the area south of it.

Fort, Quorthos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Quorthos's engulfed by the spore cloud, but nothing bad happens to him this time.

------ Round 2 ------

Mavor attacks the undead adjacent to him with a powerful swing, but the undead parries his weapon with its scimitar.

Round 2:
Tural

Mavor 38/58
Quorthos -2 Con (Fatigued)
Undead [Red] -67HP
Majenko -1 Con (Fatigued)

Denario 31/58
Imoya -2 Con (Fatigued)

I read over the part where it said those who fail their fort saves versus the spore cloud are also fatigued. The condition's been added to those who failed their saves, starting round 2.

"Holy hell....things got crowded in here quickly."

Having greased the scimitar, Denario felt relief, yet briefly.
Without a doubt it would pick it up at some point.

@Mavor: Thanks for reminding me!

@Denario: It's already picked the scimitar up, after which it cut you with it.

Indeed, but Denario's thinking ahead, as it will have to keep making reflexes to hold onto it.

Tural points at the blue undead and casts misfortune. He starts chanting immediately afterwards.
"Where are they all coming from?!"

DC19 will save to resist misfortune

Spells:

- Misfortune (Su): The shaman causes a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A successful Will saving throw negates this hex. At 8th level and 16th level, the duration of this hex is extended by 1 round. This hex affects all rolls the target must make while it lasts. Whether or not the save is successful, the creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 24 hours.

- Chant (Ex): A shaman can chant as a move action. Any creature that is within 30 feet that is under the effects of the shaman's charm, evil eye, fortune, fury, or misfortune hex has that effect's duration extended by 1 round. A shaman cannot select both this hex and the witch's cackle hex.

Quorthos uses dimensional slide to get clear of the spore clouds, and continues moving to flank the red skeleton, slipping on his brass knuckles. He delivers a punch to the creature's breastbone,

The blue-ish skeleton doesn't seem the least bit troubled by Tural's spell. Nor does the red-ish skeleton seem bothered by Quorthos punching its shield.

With the battle ward Tural provided gone, Mavor has a hard time defending himself when the undead in front of him goes into an attack frenzy. Despite his best efforts to deflect the skeleton's attacks, Mavor receives two heavy cuts across his chest.

Majenko keeps his distance, unable to do much versus skeletons and not wanting to get in your way.
