Distracting charge is a feat in the Advanced Class Guide. I have taken it out anyway . It is a Teamwork type of feat, therefore I would need my ally to have the same feat to work, so I have changed it for Coordinated Defense which I think goes better with the protective nature of a cavalier of the dragon

After 3rd level as a cavalier, Faciem Aquae will probably train as a Monk of the Four Winds, this goes well with his elf bloodline, and will provide a balanced warrior.

I am interested. I am all for low magic. That is the way we play in my face to face group.
I will be proposing a simple human ranger. Not a very complicated guy. Mostly a straight talker who grew up in the mountains and is in town to buy supplies. He did live in town as a child but being quite useless at school, was sent to live with his uncle "to make something of him".

Submitting Pe Ron Ohoy, a Ranger
Pe is the child of a Mwangi tribeswoman, named Balita, and Pe Rosi, a former slave wild elf. As a child he was sold to the Free Captains of the Shackles. Pe became a fast learner and participated in many land attacks with his masters where he learned ranger abilities.
He bought his freedom and wants a new start and perhaps, revenge on his mother´s tribe for having sold him as a slave.

Ax puts his bow away and approaches the door opening. He ties his rope to the wall, and once secure climbs down a few feet and searches carefully, withou going any further.

Ax stands up and follows Jack up the stairs and picks up his own pack. As he walks down, he looks carefully at crevices and objects in general. Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9. Ax does not see anything of interest. He continues down and joins the queue crossing the bridge. Will check:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14. Feeling the bridge stable, Ax continues across, and calls over to Jack, "Come on Jack, there does not seem to be anything of interest over there."Looking forward to Aaron, Ax sighs and thinks he perceives an over satisfied gait in the guy. Jack is right. I did not realize the injury I received from the first dagger thrown at me as I entered the room, and, also, wasn't aware of the time needed for the heal skill to work. Given the GM graciousness, I recover 2 of the 3 HPs I had lost.

Ax wraps bandages around his wound
Heal check to recover HP DC 20, w/+2 from healers kit 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 2 = 27
Ax recovers all HP by exceeding by 5 or more the DC and adding one more hp cured by adding his Wisdon modifier . It seems my healing training was much better than my swordplay, Ax tells himself.

Hurt, Ax turns toward the remaining kobold. He slashes again as he makes a commitment for practice and heavy training... He is clearly lacking in the martial arts.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 . His sword finally connects and he shouts in triumph "Aaahh! " and sits on the floor panting and makes use of one of his healer kits.

I hope I don't blunder again. I hope this guy Jack knows what he is doing. Either he is a man of faith or he does not know what he is doing : You cannot reason with kobolds
As he moves Ax tells Jar and Jack " move away from the door, remember the critters don't like light."
Ax grips his sword tightly and gets ready.

Ax puts down his shortsword, takes a step back and wonders How on earth is Jack going to reason with the critters? and says aloud, "You did´nt land on this wobbling bridge with a shower of pebbles raining on you. Go ahead, talk to these dumb lizards"

As Ax moves into the room, he moves close to one of the Kobolds and slashes with his shortsword. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 If succesfull then damage would be:

Ax is quite pissed of at the critters: his arm still stung from the pebble they sent his way.

"Amarandlon " , asks Ax, "It might be a good idea if you asist Aaron and Rumble down the trapdoor " . Turning to Fox, Ax suggests " Jack, you and I can quietly climb down with the rope and enter that way" , and finally, to Jar, Ax says, while looking around the tree line, " Jar, if you keep guard up here to cover our back, I think we can investigate more confidently".
Ax takes his rope out of his backpack and proceeds to tie it to the tree.
If the group agrees to this plan... Ax starts climbing down the gully.
Climb test down the rope: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Stealth test to do it quietly: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
otherwise, in case of non agreement... Ax takes a deep breath and awaits suggestions.

Ax goes back to the group and says "There is a trapdoor next to the tree. Let's check carefully if it's not a trap and I suggest we take a good look down there. We might get a double view: I have some rope, and while some of you go down the trapdoor, I can tie the rope to the tree and climb down." Ax looks around the team inquisitively.

Ax turns to Aaron and speculates "We can either follow the goblins, or cross the bridge, where it seems they crossed this way and followed South" . Looking to Jack, Ax asks " Jack, does your map give any indication as to which way to go?" Axcayacatl puts his cap on and looks to the sky, and wonders about the weather.

Ax asks Amarandion " let's take a closer look at that tree over there. There are some goblin tracks that seem to come from nowhere" Ax takes hold of his shorts word, just in case. He looks around and concentrate again as he approaches the tree.

Ax walks back into the tavern. After looking around to see if everybody is ready, turns to the innkeeper and says "Thanks for the food and the shelter... hope we can cover our expenses really nice when we come back". He knows some might not come back... that´s the way things turn generally, but it is better to think all are going to be here, and not about the perils that will probably hurt one of this guys. He takes another look of the group and wonders who... With that black mood in his head, he calls to all "So, have you decided which way first?".
