Really excited about this! I've been enjoying Jason's story pieces leading up to the release.
Hey Lou and Rone,
I'm also really curious how you plan to handle interstellar travel, the drift or something... different *Nervously eyes copy of Event Horizon *. I know you need to keep some things secret, but am eager to learn more.
@ Sir Gavvin, this is a great guide! (The link didn't work but I was able to find it Here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_RPG/comments/70cl9t/the_bodyguard_build _or_how_i_learned_to_tank_in/ ).
@ Cavall, If only I could convince the others... However, a cohort could be a possibility.
To add to the last statement, another goal is to let her defend the rest of the party. Sisterhood feats tend to protect those around you. I like that idea.
I personally love the idea of the Gray Maidens, especially after the fall of Illiosa. Many of them didn't want to be there but were coerced through violence and magic to do horrid things. The opportunity to play an extremely tough yet emotionally nuanced character is very rich.
I was considering having her switch to a paladin of Iomedae as her story progresses.
Accidental clone is a fun throwback to an earlier campaign (Shattered Star) where our characters met and mostly spared a certain group of Gray Maidens. As for the goal... I'd like to be a Tank. Draw in attackers with something like Antagonize or Broken wing gambit, and be able to take the hits.
Hey all,
I have her built to lv6 but am open to changes. Spoiler:

I think this is the origin story: The whip was originally a less powerful magic weapon created with alchemy by Rinaldo Gandolfi prior to Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, known as the Whip of Alchemy. Eventually, it was transformed into a far more powerful weapon after the death of Sara Trantoul, the betrothed of Leon Belmont, wielder of the Whip of Alchemy at that time. Sara, who had been fatally cursed with vampirism, had to willingly sacrifice herself to make the whip "whole" and able to defeat powerful vampires. This was because the whip needed a willing, yet tainted soul to unlock its true potential.
Haha, leave it to me to miss something so obvious!
Hey all,
Now, there are spells such as preserve that will keep things fresh for a time. But what are some other methods for keeping perishables from spoiling during travels? Siccatite Refrigerator:
Gentle repose?
It's silly stuff, but I'd love to hear Pathfinder methods of accomplishing things we take for granted in the modern era.
Hey,
Any resources I may be missing?
Hello Pathfinder Brain trust!
I like the look of these two, but perhaps the medusa's eyes/face should stand out more. The lich looks neat! No complaints there. Can't wait to get my boney little fingers on these new toys!
Hadn't really thought about the ranger option all that much... Not bad. Getting some good idea's here, I do want to stay with the tiefling flavor and am going for a fairly refined "professional" with an upper class servant's background. I figure I will need some mundane skills (would profession: housekeep cover the in's and out's of basicly being a butler? Or do I need to spend some ranks on things like Craft and the like?) Social skills are a must (aside from being valuable in any circumstance) and some knowledge: Nobility would help with flavor.
So I’m making an assassin type character for our upcoming CoT game. Seeing as we are to be "heroes" the true Assassin class doesn’t really fit. (This could be argued but I’ve discussed it with my GM and we have an understanding.) I’m thinking Tiefling and am using the high fantasy? (20pt) pool for stats. What I’m looking for is a stealthy, up close, affective killer build. I have a few ideas already but I figured I may as well weigh all of my options. So... Pure rogue, fighter/rogue, what feats, traits, stat spread, etc? Id like him to be rather charming (Silver tongue) and a decent skill monkey (fairly good Int?). Thanks for the help!
Selgard, I defiantly understand the “memory fade” concept, I’m writing the story as more or less of a dream sequence. The whole experience is a blurred half reality with a lot of symbolism and personal reflection. I’m reluctant to completely wipe the experience from the characters mind however as I’m trying add some personal weight and have it be a life affirming ordeal (as for alignment he lives up to the good guy thing pretty well… more good than chaotic though). Also I’d like to throw in some of Golarion’s flavor for our group (Kaeyoss you may be happy to know I’ve added a scene with an Astradaemon raiding party among others) Still ill try to add some more “haze” to the story and perhaps leave the character sort of amnemonic about the experience upon waking.
There was an article in Dragon Magazine#280 years back that had some nifty alchemical gadgets in an article called “Better living through Alchemy”. Among them was an Item called an Ice Crystal (DC 15 alchemy) which was a piece of treated rock crystal which “when immersed in water becomes as cold as ice and remains that way until it is removed” Its 3.5 rules set but I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit.
Lathiira, Mikhaila, Thanks for the heads up on KQ#10, Jeff I like the idea of a mark of some sort. Kaeyoss I put together a short story about "waking" in the astral plane among the soul currents and bieng escorted to the boneyard before being wrenched back to the land of the living but it still needs fleshed out. Any thoughts on quirks from such an experience? While we are at it how do you as players picture death and the afterlife playing out in the Pathfinder setting?
I recently had a character die in the Legacy of Fire AP. Death sucks but it happened fairly and he has been revived so no qualms there. My question is what kind of resources do you folks know of to add flavor to the whole experience? IMO death should be kind of a big deal from a characters perspective (Especially in this case where he was traveling the afterlife for a good three days before the party could bring him back) I’ve read the Great Beyond and have some story thoughts but are there any feats, traits, classes, or books that are out there for the revived character? Hasam is a CG Barbarian who doesn’t really follow any particular deity if that helps. Story ideas are welcome too. =)
I didnt have time to read all of the posts so if its been mentioned before forgive me, but... Daemons? Whats bieng done with this new breed of truest evil? I love the concept of Abaddon and the Horsemen...(the old mercenary Loth's didnt do full justice to the notion of PURE evil IMO) But I was confused when I didnt see Daemons in the first Bestiary. Other than that Ill throw in my lot with more Undead menaces (skinsaw murders was a great new look at what a ghoul could be). Thanks!
Ammendment- Just found it a page back Bestairy II will Have Ze Daemons!
<---Begins to stir, shaking away a summers worth of gathered dust. bones creak with a mock stretch as little bony hands wipe at empty eye sockets. The season is growing close again, soon he would'nt be alone... Soon there would be "others" to play with. Until then he would have to wait. the childlike remanant sits upon a crait kicking its tiny legs as it begins to hum a tune to a ratty doll
Im currently playing a Barb in the Legacy of Fire AP, I took the Genie Blooded trait (Fire) and use the "Hot Blooded" aspect in combat. Like Sakura a few posts up its more of a battle mind affect. Not your typical roaring Barbarian but the skills work better for a rebelious traveling desert nomad. Also rage is a fun combo with the cosmetic elemental affects of GB trait. Rage= Burning resolve and some neat elemental cosmetic affects our GM is graciously allowing for the trait. Paizo's new take on the Barb doesent force you to be a nearly mindless killing machine... Not that thats not a blast.
Had to leave early... acursed work! Con is a blast! Got to meet Jason Bulman and got my Pathfinder campaign setting book signed by a good part of the Paizo staff, shared fries with Hugo, Gamed with Nethis, Met Ask a Shoanti (Nice guy!) and got eaten by some leaches in a society game! All told a heck of a day, cant wait for tomorrow!
I’m pleased that this has sparked such a lively conversation! My take is that HP is just a way of to gauge your character's well being. While a D8+3 sword strike may nearly kill a 1st level character it would only be a scratch to a 10th level hero. This can be explained by that hero's ability to dodge, soak up, or otherwise minimize that damage, or maybe that the hero's flesh is something akin to wood by that point. How it is explained is merely flavor. Some players may like the flavor of spleen ripping dragons, while others like to think of their characters just being very tired after a big fight. (I personally don’t mind my character nursing a few wounds for a few days or until healing can be found. It adds a slight element of realism). If your big into specifications there is always the vitality and wounds system popular in the Star Wars RPG among others. When Vitality runs out your too tired to dodge and then things start getting broken or severed... then you get to buy cool robot legs! Fun for all!
Haha hey Kage! Yeah the whole thing is flavor, (Number of teeth shouldnt affect combat all too much) Still, with Urie's interest in a certain half elf Cypher Mage looking good is important! So with magic seeming to fail him what would Urie's more mundane options be? Nothing says trustworthy like a riddleport dentist! Still a silver tooth (Especially with this characters background) is better than nothing.
Ok starting a new thread for random in game questions. Most posts on other threads seem to be regarding rules and class info, what I am looking for is a general Q&A about trade, services, places, people, and all things Pathfinder. Ill start with a question of my own that didnt seem to fit in any of the other threads. Last session Urie, the third Lv. Human Ranger was punched in the mouth by a Monk in Riddleport (2nd darkness G.G. raid scene). While no serious damage was done, one of his teeth was knocked out. How (And for how much) could a tooth be healed or replaced in such a fine and upstanding place as riddleport? While a missing front tooth may be seen by some as "Hard Core" Urie does miss bieng able to eat solid foods. Any idea's?
