Looking forward at the gauntlet she takes a deep breath "Wish me luck." With a wink, she turns and dashes across the gauntlet, nimbly ducking and dodging, narrowly avoiding the multiple spinning clubs trying to pummel her.

Honestly a part of it too is that after an exciting introduction that kept us all riveted, through to a conversation/discussion that had the group's fates hanging in the balance with impactful decisions, this stage, after this long, just seems pointless.

I get that it's supposed to be them putting us through our paces, seeing what we're capable of, but considering how long it's taken, I'm almost dreading day two through whatever of training until we actually go on missions.

When you lead with a certain level of excitement, while there are slowdowns to build momentum to the crest, going through the training at this point started out pretty good but now just feels mundane. Even as I type this I feel like I'm being unnecessarily harsh, but I know you value honest feedback.

It feels like this would be one of those training montage moments that get us to the rest of the story.

Taking Talas' word for it Ariela comes to a stop, looking at the rope. Deciding to go with the less risky option, she moves to swing down, pulling herself hand over hand.

Unfortunately at that point the fatigue of the ongoing exertion gets the best of her as she looses her grip and plunges into the water.

I would if we'd had time to regain spells but this marathon day really screws casters over everyone else. But I get the feeling that's the point.

Chuckling at the lack of a challenge, Ariela turns to Eythil and smiles, squeezing his hand. "You can do this. It's easy watch."

With a wink she almost runs across the zig-zagging balance beam with stunning grace.

Ariela crouches atop the wall, wordlessly encouraging Eythil.

Ariela didn't realize she was holding her breath until Eythil's head broke the surface and she took another one. Even more noticeable was that the feeling of relief was probably the strongest thing she'd felt since......before coming here.

It didn't matter, he was okay. Worn out, shaken up, it was c;early more than just the physical challenge, but he was okay. Breathing another sigh of relief, she prepares to continue the course.

Ariela finds herself caught between the desire to continue on and the pull to dive in and help Eythil. Though it was still hazy, whatever they'd gone through in.....that river.....had created a bit of a bond between them. She holds her position, ready to dive in should things get any worse.

Nodding, Ariela takes a deep breath, running towards the wall. Just before she gets to it she jumps forward kicking off the wall to launch herself into the air, reaching up to grab Garridan's wrists. Once he has her, she plants her feet against the rough wall, using the leverage from his aid to scale the wall.

Coming to a top at the wall, Ariela studies it for a moment, before attempting the climb.

Doing a couple of quick calculations in her head, Ariela smiles over her shoulder at Eythil before taking off at a dead run, her feet barely touching any one spot long enough to affect the surface before she'd moved.

Stowing her gear, Ariela removes her armor her outfit shifting to something closer fitting, less likely to snag on an obstacle. She studies the course for a few moments before walking over to what looked like the starting point.

Yeah the whole posting by initiative for this makes it usually not even worth checking unless there's 2 or three new posts most of the time, once you know where you fall in the order.

Falling in on the idea of getting Vance on his return trip, Ariela moves forward fanning out to close in on Erythil, wincing slightly as she sees the impact of Garridan's boomerang before following it up with a stream of icy cold.

Cutting around Garridan, Ariela sets her sights on Vance, running through a few options to deal with his substantial skills and facilitate the others striking him.

This second battle would definitely put Ariela at a disadvantage, she'd used her most powerful effects in the first fight. Concentrating, she calls forth some of her internal strength to empower her strikes as she ran forward alongside her team.

Looking everything over, Ariela shrugs. "For the most part, these wouldn't really benefit me much but I guess I'll go with a shortspear."

"You definitely have a point there," Ariela concedes, taking a look at the weapons on display. "It can't hurt to be prepared."

Moving over to the racks she peruses the weapons.

With the esoteric archetype and being raised in a monastery, would it be reasonable for her simple weapons to include simple monk weapons?

Looking around the armory, Ariela turns to Darian. "While I know how to use quite a few of these, I'd rather not make myself too dependent on having a weapon."

At the comment of no planning Ariela raises an eyebrow, before frowning slightly.

Having one person focus on dropping opponents, one pinning down the recovering ones and one to move the ball sounded pretty coordinated to her. Granted it was improvised once things started but hell everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

She gives each of the other team an apologetic smile accompanied by a little shrug.

Nimbly sidestepping Teral's ineffectual swing, Ariela wags her finger at the spellcaster before advancing a step, driving an uppercut into his ribs, eliciting a cough of blood from his mouth. As he falls, she bends, picking up his mace.

This time he was a target so big she couldn't miss. Running after him in perfect silence, she launches herself into a flying kick dead center of his kidney.
