Ive said my response elsewhere. To help facilitate your decision I'm going to pull out of this game. You started this one started because of a post I made in another thread, so I'm hoping that me deciding not to participate will make the decision to shut it down easier. I'm not doing this because I don't like this game. If you finish other campaigns in the future and want to revisit this idea, I'd be down. This is the only thing I can do to help you, so I'm doing it. Take care of yourself.

Anaxian stared cooly at the man. "Do you think the choice of who the Arch Wizard speaks with is up to you? We deliver a message. Would you want to be the one to stop it from reaching it's intended ears?

"I will leave the connection open." Anaxian said. "You may notice a low pitched hum, something like hearing a distant vibration. That is the "white noise" of my telepathy when we are maintaining communication but not speech. If you are prone to talking to yourself in your mind, I will likely hear you." thanks for the bump in discussion. I missed this update.

"Wise." Anaxian said in his dry mind-voice. He had no intention of riding anyone's whip, whatever that meant.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Anaxian let out an exasperated hiss. The mating habits of mammals were eternally obnoxious. Still, it was their best lead so far, so he was willing to wait to see what Jalucian was able to tell them.

oh, right. Durations are a thing. If it was covered up would that prevent the effect? Is the magic a field or an emanation? I admit I don't know much about how the symbol spells work. Anaxian flapped up and tested the door to see if it was locked.

"For an archmage, death is only a temporary setback. I suspect they all have contingencies and will return at some point soon. If they do not, they can hardly be said to be worthy of their title." Anaxian said. "I am surprised none of them shared their death contingencies with any of you. Mine did." "First though, we need to find out what happened. There would be no point in aiding our masters' return if whatever killed them is ready to kill them again. For now, death is a refuge for them."

I admit, I skimmed the last few posts, mostly because I'm playing an elitist jerk who is currently ignoring everyone else's fun. I didn't see anything that indicated anyone was upset though. We have some characters prone to low-brow humor. Given the nature of the game, that seems fitting. This is a strange game with a diverse array of personalities in the party. Anything in game should probably be taken light-heartedly, and anything that borders on player conflict or upsetting material can be discussed here. So far, no harm no foul in my opinion.

Anaxian wished for the hundredth time that arcane spellcasters could cast Silence. He made a mental note to himself to pick up a few scrolls of that spell. He might not be able to cast them himself, but he could fake it. If it would free him from this prattling it would be cheap at twice the price.

Anaxian was a dragon. He did not risk losing a single coin in his horde unless there was more to gain than a few more meager coins. Gambling was stupid. He lounged on the human sized table a short distance away from the others and their insipid game, reading a book that was bigger than he was and trying to ignore his bitterness about having already lost all the money he had left. That squirrel was a godsdammed shark. I gots zero moneies. Spent every cent in character creation, so we can juat play ot off like the little dragon is a terrible gambler and is now sulking about it.

As soon as we got here and I built my Lair I had pretty much everything I needed so I figured it would be best to let everyone else be in the driver's seat regarding how the city got built and what diplomatic angles we wanted to pursue. I'd been mostly doing legend lore and being available to lend a hand to the rest of you for projects and stuff. After seeing the kinds of things you all had planned and the direction you were pushing the city, I decided it was time to start being more active. There's a lot of me to go around, so when I want to, I can get a lot done. :)

Destroyed undead bodies don't disintegrate. They just become corpses again. (unless they're killed by positive energy or something that actually does destroy the body) Restore Corpse doesn't work on the undead. When an undead is destroyed it isn't undead anymore. It's just dead. Then the corpse is restorable. Do you see it differently?

However you want to rule it I'll work with. I agree with Illia's math though. The whole "only weak monsters as cohorts" thing is there to keep players from doing exactly the kinds of things we are already doing as PCs. The extra -3 CR just to have cohorts who are as monsterous as we are seems harsh and kinda pointless considering the themes of this game. Theoretically, CR and Class Level are supposed to be exactly the same in terms of power. In 3.5 CR meant more because classes could do less. Monsters were the way to make things powerful. In Pathfinder that switched. Every single one of us (except maybe Dris) is actually less powerful because we are monsters. If we were regular Level 14 humanoids, we'd be throwing around 7th level spells. That's a huge trade off for our monster levels.

If your cohort can use magic or UMD, a good tric is to buy a scoll of Legend Lore and have someone else do it instead of you. Frees up a lot of time, or lets you double up on your research. That's how anaxian is doing research on Harpys and Geothermal activity at the same time. His Phylactery is doing the geothermal stuff while possessing a gug body.
