OK, so yes- all the .99 Mini-Dungeons are within, completely redone with new maps and art. We've also added a slew of new MDs from great authors across the RPG industry. At the back of the book is a trap and bestiary glossary for ease of reference.
~ONLY DAYS LEFT ON KICKSTARTER!~ Greetings from AAW Games / Adventureaweek.com my friends in Paizo Messageboard land! :) Mini-Dungeon Tome for 5th Edition or Pathfinder RPG
What is a Mini-Dungeon? Mini-Dungeons are two-page adventures for 5th Edition or Pathfinder RPG which are setting agnostic and are easily inserted anywhere in your campaign. These grab-and-go adventures are great when you need something in a pinch! This tome contains 130+ adventures spanning over 260 pages (more with stretch goals)!
We're down to a nail-biter here folks! We only need 30 backers to unlock the OCCULT CLASSES for Underworld Races & Classes Kickstarter for Pathfinder RPG and 5th Edition! Pledge now if you want to support this amazing limited print run tome! Underworld Races & Classes for 5th Edition & Pathfinder RPG
Thank you for the shout-out Paizo! The Underworld Races & Classes Kickstarter is spelunking into the depths of the Underworld funding within the first hour and already unlocking lots of stretch and backer goals. The Underworld Races & Classes tome for 5th Edition and the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game (two separate books) includes devious drow, deep mining svirfneblin, psychedelic funglets, beautiful, semi-crystalline colliatur and more: a total of 14 new races and over 25 classes clocking in at 250+ pages! Authors of the newly revised Underworld Races & Classes tome include Thilo Graf AKA Endzeitgeist (Advanced Races Compendium by Kobold Press, Laying Waste by TPK Games, Strange Magic by Interjection Games), Stephen Rowe (Advanced Races Compendium, Paizo: Pathfinder Player Companions: Paths of the Righteous, Healer's Handbook, and Haunted Heroes Handbook), Chris Harris (Tome of Beasts, Advanced Races), Mike Myler (ENnie winning AaWBlog!, Hypercorps 2099 by Legendary Games, Veranthea Codex by Rogue Genius Games), and Jonathan G. A detailed history and information on each race, its peculiarities, settlements and customs
A completely revised domain for the insidious drow to make the upperworlders fear even the very shadow they cast!

I found the NPC resource you were asking about for Rise of the Drow. It was never released because soon after it was assembled Joshua Gullion (our friend, PDF/Print layout professional, and contributor to Rise of the Drow) fell deathly ill and departed our world. Through the mourning of his passing some things fell to the wayside and were forgotten. Here is a link to download this Rise of the Drow NPC resource for free. It was never fully completed and is missing a cover but most everything you need is there. My apologies for losing track of this aspect of the project. -Jonathan G. Nelson
The daylight spell is not actual sunlight but sunbeam or sunburst could potentially destroy the items (ultimately up to the GM). Really the way the text reads is as follows: "If items infused with liavous crystal are taken above ground into sunlight they permanently lose all of their properties..." So if you want to be specific you could say that in order to lose their properties the items need both of these things to happen together: 1. Be above ground 2. Be exposed to sunlight Just like any rule it's up to the GM how they wish to handle the situation. -Jonathan
Let's see what I can help answer here... 1. A00/A01/A02 - While this will take your PCs from levels 1-3 they are going to need the boost. The section of Rise of the Drow Prologue: The Darkness Arrives written by Steve Helt is a bit brutal and I've heard that most parties lost between 1-3 party members when working through that stretch (part 2 of the prologue). If they are level 2 or 3 it will increase their chances of survival while still allowing you to beef up encounters (by adding more enemies) if you so wish. Plus by playing through the earlier modules they will learn more about the region, make some friends, and find places to obtain equipment or information. 2. The Underworld Races & Classes books are not needed to play any books in the Rise of the Drow series. Players running one of these characters will have an advantage though as they are more properly suited to a life underground. 3. Most of the extra materials you are looking for are already included in Rise of the Drow. In the table of contents (main book) you'll find an entry for the dweorg god Balir and the drow god Naraneus. All the information on those deities is already contained within the core Rise of the Drow hardback. 4. If you want access to more deities, Vikmordere Valley locations, maps, races, classes, etc. simply subscribe to AdventureAWeek.com for $10 a month. You'll also get 2 free PDF downloads per month with your subscription so you can easily knock out any A-series adventures or Underworld Races & Classes you would like to obtain! Hope this helps answer any loose questions. If it doesn't please feel free to post again. I'm more than happy to help! -Jonathan G. Nelson
AAW Games has a Viking themed Pathfinder adventure Kickstarter running right now. We reached our initial funding goal 5.5 hours after launch and have spent much of the day knocking down stretch goals. To find out more, jump to the page here. Thank you for your interest! -Jonathan G. Nelson
Here's what Justin told me when I originally brought up this concern: On the Wintery vs. Wintry topic --
I did see the Grammarist page, but even there with Sarah Belliston's "it's wrong" claim, she has to admit that it's been in use a very long time. In the end, I chose Wintery because it actually contained the word "winter" and was three syllables as opposed to two.
Thanks! -Jonathan
Yes, you heard right. AAW Games / AdventureAWeek.com has just launched a Kickstarter for a Pathfinder adventure steeped in Norse mythology. Here are the details and the LINK! INTO THE WINTRY GALE is a Pathfinder RPG Adventure for 4-6 Level 10 Characters Written by Justin Andrew Mason, staff writer for the ENnie Award winning Adventureaweek.com Blog. Having authored over a hundred articles and a dozen adventures for the AAW Blog, Justin Andrew Mason is now tackling a super-sized adventure module inspired by the viking sagas and ancient Norse mythology. The arrival of the celestial event known as the Ohjaslange heralds the return of the dreaded Jǫtunn (ice giants) to the lands of Vikmordere. The valley is engulfed by an unnatural blizzard and unending frigid gale of the likes which none living have ever seen. A dark and evil curse has reawakened, after dormant centuries, to cloak the sun and bury the land beneath frost and snow. Directed by ancient Vikmordere legend, warriors and shieldmaidens from the many clans have gathered in the village of Völsfiheimr on the shores of Serpent Lake to prepare for the upcoming battle. At stake is the very future of their people. As a horde of undying skeletal ice giants begin a long march down from a ruined mountaintop fortress, Vikmordere warriors in the valley resolve their mettle by singing lore of heroic bravery and ancient battles. Wintery war is looming, and many echo the charge of ancient omens -- the time has come to seek out the lost artifacts of the legendary Jarl Vornig – for it was he who last quelled the ice giant uprising, felling the great ice giant king whilst wielding a divine sword and magic aegis. If these powerful artifacts cannot be rediscovered, and the power therein harnessed, the Vikmordere warriors stand little chance against the onslaught of the evil Jǫtunn. Despite the gathering of great warriors, the Ancestor Spirit seems to have other plans to secure the safety of the Vikmordere people... A group of outsiders has arrived at the Great Hall of Völsfing upon the eve of battle. The strangers have been guided through the blinding blizzard by a mysterious fire-wreathed ember owl, and are unwittingly about to become epic heroes in a new saga. The Vikmordere are wary of their new guests, yet submit to the will of their ancestors and acknowledge the omen of adventurer's arrival. The barbarian clans place their hopes into the hands of these enigmatic visitors who must now prepare to venture out into the wintery gale in search of the ancient Jarl's artifacts.
wraithstrike wrote: Also did anyone get an answer on when the PC's should level up? I can probably wing it, but I would prefer not to. Levels: The PCs begin Rise of the Drow at 6th level. The PCs should be 8th or 9th level by the time they reach Embla. The PCs should be reach 10th or 11th level before entering the Fungi Forest. The PCs should reach 13th or 14th level before entering Tolgorith Tower. The PCs should be between 16th and 18th level by the time they encounter Maelora, Matron of House Gullion.
DM Papa.DRB- I'm sorry I took some time to get back to you on this. May I suggest posting in the Rise of the Drow Epilogue: Commander of Malice thread next time? This will also help others who are looking for a solution for the same problem should they have it in the future. For now we only guarantee support for our PDF books when using Adobe Reader (Acrobat). I honestly have never heard of the PDF readers you mentioned and am sorry you are experiencing trouble viewing our PDFs with them. We are a small publisher and although we strive to make everyone happy we can only stretch our small team so thin. Revising the PDFs for alternative readers isn't something we can facilitate at this time. Will you be able to use Adobe Reader whilst running that adventure? -Jonathan
@DM Papa.DRB Your spoiler text is quoting an adventure which was not crafted by AAW Games. I sounds like a Paizo adventure path to me. I would post in the thread for that particular adventure. :) Happy Holidays! (Big sale on our site and a free subscription for those of you looking to add to your AAW Games collection. The hardback and other books are priced the lowest we've ever gone as well!)
Hello David, Please explain "two maps of Embla". There are no further detailed maps of Embla although we have Gaming Paper & PDF Underworld Encounter Maps which can be used for various encounters in and around Embla & Holoth as well as a series of VTT Map Packs that may help you. One such map pack is this one (meant for Stoneholme but can be used in Embla): LINK! As far as rewarding XP goes that is entirely up to the GM. I typically award XP after the PCs have progressed through a dangerous area and arrived in a safehaven. For example after Krelgar Keep during the rest in Embla. I'll let Stephen and Will weigh in on this too for those of you who appreciate firmer guidelines. Peace in the Underworld! -Jonathan

1. LotLK simply matches the thematic setting present in Rybalka (Vikmordere/Klavek Kingdom) where the adventure begins. Honestly you could easily start the adventure anywhere as the group quickly heads underground...unless you're running the prologue in which case you'll want an area with a cold climate and no major cities within easy reach of the PCs, basically untamed wilderness- frontier village far from civilization... 2. That would be fairly easy. Grab the Underworld Races: Drow book here on Paizo or from our site at Adventureaweek.com and hand that to the PCs to get them started. If you read up on the story you could have the drow start out on the surface as part of one of the raiding groups, perhaps the group which is transformed into zombies at Krelgar Keep...they could have fled just as this was going down. Now that they're far from their home city of Holoth they've decided to become renegades and topple the current establishment. 3. For sure! We used it in our playtest and it worked great!! (UC) Apologies for any poor punctuation or grammar, I've had very little sleep the past 3 days. -Jonathan |
