Hello, Starfinders!

Lucky you! You’ve been invited to a trendy arcade run by a famous demoscene artist and vidgame programmer, who needs volunteers to beta test his latest full-immersion virtual reality vidgame! So head on down to Hidden Escape Arcade, select the color of your squox avatar, and take a super cute (and definitely not dangerous at all*) farming simulator for a spin!

*Hidden Escape Arcade is not liable for any injuries sustained while using their full-immersion virtual reality vidgames. Please game responsibly!

Starfinder Society Scenario #5-15: Beta Test is an adventure for 11th- through 14th-level characters written by Rigby Bendele.

Hello, Pathfinders!

This month we’re revisiting Lumna and Venture-Captain Evni Zongnoss in order to enact the plan to save the Ardis Scholars! Using the mysterious crystal key combined with Lumna’s interdimensional powers, the Pathfinders are traveling to the mysterious and dangerous Shadow Plane and into the heart of Asylnn’s electric castle! Narcela’s there waiting to offer assistance, and the Scholars desperately need the Pathfinder’s help, with all of Aslynn’s minions and lackeys creeping around her castle. The building is filled with magical items, but you must remain focused, because Aslynn has one more trick up her sleeve…

Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-11: Prisoners of the Electric Castle is an adventure for 7th- through 10th-level characters written by Jacob W. Michaels.

Have a great trip, Pathfinders!

Artist Ernst Eskelsen - The Gale’s Claw: This plane-shifting airship is a sleek sailing vessel with wide open sails and a terrifying horse’s head as the mast.

Both scenarios sound like fun!!! Now, what could possibly go wrong with a virtual simulation? It isn't like the safety protocols would malfunction, would they? As for the Shadow Plane, well I imagine Aslynn has a welcome (and do not leave) mat set out for the Pathfinders. ;)

Aslynn. Must. Die.

The Concordance 2/5 ****

The Starfinder Scenario sounds very intriguing. But why is it such high level?! It sounds like fun and from the small excerpt I can see no reason why you would send some of your most experienced assets to test a FARMING SIM. Something is extrememly fishy there. Also I would have preferred something with such a fun promise to be more accessible to more players. Not that many players have charakters in that level range.

"You’ve been invited to a trendy arcade run by a famous demoscene artist and vidgame programmer" I interpret that as you are being invited because you have a high profile. I don't have anyone in range yet but I think having a fun hook is a good thing at any level. There is also the Hardlight Harlequinn free RPG adventure which has a similar theme.

I disagree. This is the only Tier 11-14 Scenario this season, and only the second, ever, after season 3's 3-20. High-tier characters are allowed to have nice things, too :D Also, as we're nearing our sixth year of Starfinder Society, and with plenty of APs, Modules, and One-Shots that allow you to apply XP to characters of high (or any!) level, there's probably more level 13+ characters floating around out there than you'd think!

Plus, low-level characters already have a lot of the more odd (meant in the best possible way!) scenarios: Live Exploration Extreme!, Duskmire Accord 9, Pact World Warriors, Clone Batch Catastrophe, and so on (not to mention, all of the Interactive Specials.) It's alright for high-level PCs to get interesting scenarios (that aren't just "kill the epic baddie") once in a while, too.

Myself and most of my fellow invitees are members of the Forum, candidates for First Seeker or other Starfinders of Note. Surely our endorsement of this farming simulation that cannot possibly go wrong in any way will make this one of the most successful games ever!
