I can't zoom in enough to tell what the "chain" maille is made of. It looks way too perfect and light to be regular chain. Anyone?

Hey it's me!
Oath, the "chainmail" is triple-layered sequinned fabric, put right-to-wrong side to dull the sequins. I used the _really_ cheap stuff, I think it was like .50 a yard or so! ... Yes, I committed a costuming sin, but it looks pretty convincing, so that makes it okay, right?
