I Pity the Foo!

Monday, November 28, 2011

In just a few days, the Pathfinder Society Organized Play campaign will take its first steps into the Dragon Empires of Tian Xia, as the Pathfinder Society pursues ways to ensure victory in the forthcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament. The premiere Tian adventure for Pathfinder Society players is RPG Superstar 2011 finalist Jerall Toi's The Edge of Heaven, which kicks off the three-part series The Quest for Perfection. Adventuring high in reaches of the Wall of Heaven (Golarion's equivalent of the Himalayas), it's no surprise the PCs may run into a yeti or two. Just watch out for falling foo dog statues.

Ooooo! I like the sound of a Tournament arc... and I definitely want to see what Jerall's done with it :)

I want to be friends with this yeti. I REALLY want to be friends with this yeti. He looks like he'd make an awesome drinking buddy.

I don't believe he's done anything with the actual Tournament. That will be a module by Tim Hitchcock coming out in January. He's just written the first of three scenarios that go together as the Quest for Perfection trilogy. The Edge of Heaven by Jerall Toi, On Hostile Waters by Benjamin Bruck, and Defenders of Nesting Swallow by Sean McGowan.

Hmmmm. I confess that sounds significantly less compelling. :-/

Ah, well, then I guess I'm interested in the Hitchcock scenario :)

I'd have to agree. I could easily see this yeti inviting a friend to sit with him by the fire and share some BBQ white dragon ribs. He's awesome. He needs an equally awesome name.

Does he have an equally awesome name? If not, we should give him one.

So, like, when is the Foo Throwing Yeti pre-painted mini coming out? Now? How about now?

Spoiler:
Now?

I hope these scenarios are good! My home guinea pigs, I mean group, are going through them in March.

Silly yeti, doesn't he realize he gets strength and a half damage for using both arms?

How about we name this yeti "Big Toes"?

How about Betty? It could be kind of like the Johnny Cash song, "A Boy Named Sue." We call him, "Betty the Yeti" and that is why he throws foo dogs around.

Yes, but using foo dogs might cause people to go to a far lesser artist Carl Douglas and his 70s hit for inspiration and lead to lyrics like this.

Everybody was foo dog fighting/
Yetis were as fast as lightning/
It was a little bit frightening/
But they fought with expert timing.

That is fantastic, and apt, art for Edge of Heaven. I'm totally pumped up for RPG Superstar 2012! Make it happen! SOOOOOOOOOON :D

Coincidentally, Mister Carl Douglas is on both my "drive to work" and "smash the PCs" playlists. :)

Zomg!

"foo"

I just now got the joke.

Does this mean it's in Bestiary vol 3?

Hey! Congratulations to Jerall Toi on the adventure! Can't wait to see it!

I'm looking forward to seeing where these modules and scenarios go.

How about Carl the Yeti?
