If that is one of the new factions I would certainly consider playing a halfling or an gnome. Most likely a bard. I would also sing at the table until I got stabbed.

I think that happened to me once. Best puncture wound I ever received.

Although I know it's probably long past too late, here's my two cents on which new factions I would like to see. Though I don't care all that much, as I'll always be playing a loyal servant of Asmodeus.
1)Nirmathas. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but nature-based characters have no real home in PFS right now. This is not just a good idea, it is almost necessary.
2) Ustalav. If you're going to have another evil faction, this seems like the best choice, that will draw the widest player-base, which could conceivably have agents who would help the Pathfinder Society. What's not tempting about vampires, werewolves, undead, etc. If not Ustalav, I see Belken as the second best evil choice, but even that isn't ideal, as it will really only fit with 1 type of character (half-orcs).
3) Rahadoum/Mana Wastes? Rahadoum is a pretty unique area, and characters from the region could be very fun to RP/do missions for. And if you're going to have the gunslinger class, one of these two should probably be an option.
4) Mendev/Lastwall. While both of these places have plenty of adventure on their own, so it is hard to imagine how a native would leave home to seek trouble elsewhere, either of these would be great good-aligned options to contrast with Andor. Pathfinders of these nations could be trying to gain support and resources for their more important conflicts at home.
5) A home for the monks and other non-western fantasy character options, like the ninja and the samurai. While Tian isn't officially in the Inner Sea, they may still have agents here, especially if their tournament is going to be so important this season... or you could to Jalmeray.

Note to self. When singing irritating falsetto songs near Diego, make sure he only has blades no longer than 1 inch. Hopefully the natural padded armor will save me.

Liberation (5 PP) In the event that you are captured and forced into slavery, the faction mounts a rescue operation, freeing you from servitude without any material or physical effect. Any cost or penalty normally associated with being enslaved (including magical effects such as dominate person) is negated at no additional cost to you.
Bah! I see through your evil deceptions! Module-writers are champing at the bit to enslave the PCs and wrest their PP away!

What happens right now if you're sold into slavery? You lose all your gear correct? (maybe a fate worse than death). I'm assuming that when the Andoran faction frees you, you keep your gear. Sounds decent to me.
Now let's see what everyone else has. Cheliax has "rot in hell"? :)

Is that actually written into any currently play-legal PFS scenarios (no spoilers; just yes or no)?

Yes!

Instead of there being two faction missions for each of the 10 factions, each one will have only a single difficult mission to earn that faction's Prestige Point (PP).
I consider this a great loss to the faction mission concept. That easier faction mission was always a great source of fulfillment (particularly for newer players), when they might not necessarily be able to complete the more difficult one. Getting a PP pretty much by default for completing the mission does not replace that feeling of success.
These 'sub-factions' are wreaking havoc with the system that works.

I do not share the sense of loss, Majuba.
In my experience and in general, many players where focusing entirely on faction missions and not enough on their primary missions. I've seen some players go completely out of character or metagame fiercely to complete their mission.
I think this change puts the player's motives more in alignment with the Pathfinder Society's and will be a good change.
I even long for the day when not all scenarios have faction missions (I think some are forced to the point of silliness), but that may be a personal preference. If I have another mission of counting horses, I may have to switch to going factionless (which I think will mean that I have to shower with a VC, but that's a different thread). I would prefer that every faction mission be reasonable and meaningful or not be there at all. (Nope, life ain't 'fair'.)
But I babble, Majuba...we can discuss this more in person in a few weeks. :)
