All these Bestiary 2 monsters are CR 20 or higher. Deal with it!

If you can.

Not sure you can call it a humanoid, since it doesn't have any legs... just a serpentine body.

Oh, wait, that's right; if it deviates too far from the human body plan, it's a monstrous humanoid. Or something entirely different.

I'd guess some kind of protean, but he looks a little too nice and far too serene.

Let me squelch that feeling right now. Ahem:

These are NOT all the CR 20+ monsters in Bestiary 2.

And no, I'm not just counting great wyrm dragons.

Squelch.

Good squelch.

New board collaborative challenge then? When Bestiary 2 comes out we write a 20th level adventure featuring as many CR 20+ monsters as possible :D.

GLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK!

Could the second one be a unique protean?

The second illustration reminds me of a tien lung (Chinese dragon). It's serene, the embroidery on the robes are vaguely oriental in design, and it has whiskers.

I read this in the same tone as "DEEEEEEEEEEEP CROOOOOOOOOW!" and it made me laugh uncontrollably. XD

Me too. But are they the same two? One never knows... :)

I think the two of you should compare notes in this thread to find out!

Naughty!

Actually, I guess I know three out of the four, since two I wrote and one I've seen elsewhere, but the fourth I ain't got no idee.

Darn it, I saw this at work first and didn't have a chance to post it first! ;)

As far as the giant woman goes, I really like the picture and I'm hoping its a titan, though it does appear a little on the short side if it is. Still really like the art for her.

Drat! And double drat! You saw through my cunning plan. But what if everyone promises not to look at the page after you both compare notes? I'm sure James won't get mad at you for leaks then.

More seriously, I'm really very interested to see what the draconic thingy is. The shadow shark too for that matter. Like most everyone else I assume that the other two are the Jabberwock and Titan, both of which are cool to see anyway. I'm quite excited about this book really. The first Bestiary was a very pretty book, but largely updates of classic 3E monsters so I found it useful but not very exciting. Bestiary 2 on the other hand promises to have a lot more unique content, or at least things I haven't used since before 3E.

Well technically one is just bloody obvious, and the other one I know because I've got a pdf with that critter's section because I'm working on something related to it.

Pretty good guess on the two others, and if I guess right one of them is something I created elsewhere. And even if I'm wrong, it's a damn fine piece of artwork. :)

I have no intention of naming anything, known or speculative though, because I don't care to tempt Tom Rex to come after me. ;) Those tiny arms are scary!

Liberty's Edge

I like tall women.

If that's a tien-lung, I will squee.

Ok, if I had been eating something when I read "Pope Dragon", it'd might have turned into a first Paizo-related death because I would've choked from sudden laughter. LOL Good one.

One other interesting note is the fact that maybe at least one of the new art pieces isn't a specific monster at all, but an illustration for one of the new monster templates.

Nope. No templates.

I will point out that the so-called "chocolate demon" about to be smashed by the big hammer could well be a giant as well. He's obviously not a human, with those horns, so the size of the hammer wielder could be anything.

This isn't Deliverance, you're not Ned Beatty, you don't have a pretty mouth. So no squee-ing, please.

I can state with authority that Arevashti does indeed have a pretty mouth. There is, in fact, much that is pretty about her. The almost exact opposite of Ned Beatty. And neither of us have seen Deliverance.

And she said squee, not squeal.

Too orderly.

That would point towards proteans

Not at all. Jolly Red Giants are all about beets.

She says, "Eat your beets!" And if you refuse, you get to 'eat your beetz' as she 'beetz' you with her hammer.

A beet eater couldn't lift that hammer! :P

Love the glooooom shark.

The buck-toothed dragonoid (er, jabberwock, not to be confused with the jibber-jabberwock, which has a confusion babble attack) is also neat.

Well, the jabberwock does have a burble attack that causes confusion!

I know people like that. They say something and you just go "What."

Aw, guessed!

The chocolate demon is actually the monster in that illo. I don't know where ya'll are getting titan from.

More like chocolate cheesecake.

Silver Crusade

Shadow shark is totally the Nightwave. Gotta be.

@#$%ing yikes.

Happy Titan can only be the Elysian Titan.

Calling Dragon Pope as the Draconal. Fits the Agathion naming scheme.
