Round 1

Lloyd looked at the dimly lit farmer and It looked to him that he was merely a man, half crazed by the look in his eyes, but just a man, so he begins to share what he discovered. That this 'farmer' was wearing a well-made breastplate identifying him as being an ex-soldier, and is carrying a war razor that also looked to be well made. Expect him to be dangerous.

Carla looked at the man and his weapon, declaring the weapon magical and seeing clear signs that the man is under some sort of enchantment.

Lawrence looked out from his pocket and shivered...

Gibs, growled and stepped forward slashing out with his war razor at Balurk who was in the doorway. The first attack sliced Balurks arm open pretty fiercely. The second, the big Orc avoided.

Jack reached down pulling both Kukri's from their sheaths then took issue with not killing the farmer with Carla. However as long as the Ex-Soldier turned Farmer stood in the doorway, unless they went through windows, of found a way to push him backwards, only Balurk could get to him. Tactically, the Farmer had the advantage of terrain.

Barek pulled his Rapier and then used his arcane power to summon a shield of force that hovered in the air between he and this ex soldier.

Briar Rose wanted to tackle the farmer, but couldnt get to him...and even so his movements showed him to be a knowledgeable combatant and she doubts she couldve in this instance.

Balurk tried to grapple the man however, but the ex-soldier deftly fended him off.

Carla continues cackling, and it seems a bit excessive to be only about the wordplay. Shen then casts a spell targetting the farmer and steps back.

Using Cackle hex. Casting Daze on him, then 5ft step back. Misfortune is back to 2 rounds.

The witch is able to get into the man's mind and confuse it enough to stop acting for a few seconds.

She says "He's enchanted! We need to help him! Balurk, try to pull him so everyone can get to him."

Barek, seeing the predicament everyone is in, calls up his internal magics, enchanting his sword, then punches out with the hilt of his rapier, smashing the window next to him.

Based on the hit point and hardness table, I'm assuming the 2 damage is enough to smash through the glass.

He dives through to the other side before standing ready with his sword and shield out.

All the windows are shuttered on the inside with a lock on the shutters. so Hardness 3 3HP because its shutters and not solid wood

for misfortune to hit: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

so it still hit and still did 7 points of damage

He shakes his head as he sees his new companions smashing through windows just to dogpile one man.

Lloyd did as Carla had and attuned himself to detecting magical aura's and right away noticed the war-razor he was using radiated magic. as well as the man himself seemed to have an aura about him.

Carla wove her magic carefully and overcame his mental defenses causing the farmer to stand shaking his head for a bit.

Lawrence looked upon the farmer looked up at Carla and nodded his furry head.

Gibs, in the middle of a combat routine, suddenly dropped his arms and shook his head. That guttural voice came out of his mouth, not at all sounding like the farmer You think to stop my machinations. You are foolish to believe you are strong enough

Jack looking at Gibs, urged Balurk on with words of encouragement and a look of doubt appeared in the eyes of the farmer.

Barek shattered the window and cut partially through the bindings of the shutters within.

Briar Rose stands on the steps looking on, waiting for an opportunity to do something.

Balurk wraps his big arms about the soldier, holding him tight.

Lloyd addresses whatever is piloting the farmer, sounding relatively disinterested, before tilting his head forward menacingly and speaking in a much, much more serious manner, "Because if we have to exorcise you the hard way, you are going to [u]wish[/u] we had merely killed you."

Not great, but who knows how powerful this demon/devil/whatever is.

Lloyd threatens what he thinks may be a fiend possessing the Farmer, only to hear a long guttural laugh. The voice said. Thats rich. Ill wish youd killed me....so very funny

Carla cackles as only a witch can in response extending the Misfortune on Gibs as before and suggests to Balurk to pulll Gibs out of the house and onto the porch.

Lawrence hides in the pouch and looks at Carla with fear in his eyes...Like he knows something now.

Gibs was locked arm in arm with Balurk, but instead of trying to escape, he turned the war razor so he could slice into the Orcs arm saying The better to cut you Orc. The Razor sliced into his bicep, then slashed across the Big Orcs chest. pushing him to the side bleeding, with a grin saying evilly Next

Balurk lay on the ground breathing shallowly, the bleeding stopping.

@GM: Checking the grappled condition. Attacker gets -2 to attack. Also, the AC reduces by 2, not 4 (it's -4 to Dex which means -2 to AC). Maybe the 1st attack doesn't hit then?

Carla watches Balurk be sliced down and opens her eyes wide. She dashes forward, but is unable to reach the orc. She continues cackling also.

Move and Cackle. Misfortune back to 2 rounds.


Lets amend that. Balurk is up and they are still grappled. but Balurk only has 7 HP.

"Hmph..." Lloyd grunts at how surprisingly difficult it's being to take down a simple farmer, "I can't tell if his resilience is natural from his training, or supernaturally the result of whatever's possessing him."

"We may have to mostly kill him," he gives his assessment while drawing his crossbow. Turning to whomever isn't currently in melee with Gibs he asks, sotto voce, "You lot have healing magic, right?"

With Balurk holding the man in place, Barek finds his angle, blade slipping past his armor and leaving a deep puncture behind.

Lloyd pulls his crossbow out and loads, beginning to think death was necessary to stop Gibs.

Carla gazes on becoming worried for Balurk and continues to laugh, causing Gibs to be distracted.

Lawrence keeps bobbing his head up, and peeking before ducking down and hiding repeatedly.

Gibs was having a difficult time with this orc holding him, he was puzzled why it was taking so long to slice him up. He once again tries to cut the orc. Finally he sliced open his abdomen, and pushed him to the side, the big orc landing on the floor as he spun to face Barek.

Jack moved tumbling through the window just as Gibs spun and the farmer slashed out at Jack. It was his misfortune though to slice the air above the Trapper as Jack got into position and stuck out at the farmer from flanking with his Kukri, also hitting nothing but air.

Lloyd takes aim with his crossbow, only to lower his weapon once more, "Can't quite get a good shot in with you all up in his face," he murmurs to himself, "Let's try this, then."

Grabbing a ten-foot length of rope from his bag, Lloyd casts Tripvine on it. Tossing the now-animate rope into the house, he mentally commands it to 'guard' the 10-foot-square area around Gibs in a way that would stop the rope from targeting the party.

I still can't see the map on Roll20, so I don't know exactly where it would go. If there isn't a way to only get Gibs in the area of effect, put it somewhere where it'd minimize the number of allies it would try to trip.

lloyd, you should be able to see the map now. if you cant try refreshing. I checked all settings a few times, further when I do the control L feature that lets me see what a character sees, I can look through Lloyds 'eyes'

Lloyd set the crossbow down and pulled out a coil of rope, casting a spell upon it he tossed it into the room, unfortunately with everyone around Gibs, there was no place to throw it that wouldnt hit members of the group. The rope wrapped around Balurks legs as he lay on the ground.

Jack felt the rope wrapping around his and he went to the ground hard, but held onto his Kukri's as he saw the rope wrapping around Gibs' ankles too and the farmer came down eye to Jack.

Carla moved up on the porch. Lawrence was peeking out of the satchel and squeaked when he saw Gibs was down. and she laughed with witch like glee

Gibs, with that crazed look in his eyes, looked up at Briar Rose and smiled wickedly...saying Oh look...a holy maiden. Ill cut you up next and lashed out even from his prone position. Both slashes with his war-razor just waved in the air as luck had turned against the ex soldier.

Briar Rose however sliced down at the the crazed farmer and cut deep into his chest with the scimitar she bore.

Balurk lay on the ground, unconscious but not dying the rope wrapping him up.

Briar Rose drops her shield and goes full offense, the fire of Sarenrae filling her heart and limbs as she swings down at the evil guy.

I just now noticed the insight bonus from Lloyd. Doesn't change anything, but it is nice to have.
