Lindevaile Tindome is a Cavern elf so she has darkvision.

I don't think there's anything else that is passive, rest are activated abilities that I will write out in the posts. She has versatile performance so she dances a lot.

She just leveled to 6 and I rebuilt her with the remaster rules. I have all stats on paper but have to copy to Paizo.

So I thought you were going to steal my opening blurb? :)

Grand Lodge

Lost and Forgotten

Because I forgot to, I am now hereby stealing his opening blurb standing on the shoulders of one who stands taller than me in the PBP GM world. (But I’m not using those macros. I’m not an IT guy; I just fly airplanes.)

Please post your token to the box on slide 1. The slides for this session are also linked at the top of the page and in my GM header.

Please let me know, either explicitly in your tag-line header or here in Discussion what your default Exploration Activity is.

Please get signed in on RPGChronicles so I can be sure of the CP and sub-tier. Based on the sign-ups on the Outpost Spreadsheet, we should be at 17 CP and in the low tier.

As per the Organized Play Foundation Community Standards, each player must decide if they will allow their characters to be damaged by friendly fire (usually via splash damage). In keeping with the “Explore, Report, Cooperate” motto of the Pathfinder Society, engaging in non-consensual character-versus-character conflict is prohibited. While accidental friendly fire happens due to missed attack rolls or other factors, players must obtain the consent of other players before deliberately including fellow PCs in damaging effects. This rule does not apply in situations where a character is not acting of their own free will, such as if they’re being mind-controlled by an NPC and forced to attack a fellow Pathfinder.

You may select a consumable item from the Pathfinder Provisions list. These used to be the school items you get prior to starting an adventure.

I am currently in Asia for the next few months so my posting hours may be unusual (especially for those in North America). I usually update at least one or twice per day. Just to keep the game moving, please post at least once every day and at least once during the weekend.

Please keep all posts and communication in all channels limited to a PG-13 level and be both positive and inclusive.

Please label all three of your actions. Even if you think what you are doing is obvious.

If I am unavailable for longer than 24 hours, I will let you know in the Discussion Tab. Out of respect for your fellow players and myself, I ask that you do the same. Real life happens, and real life will always take priority over the game, but out of fairness for your fellow players, please let us know if you will be unavailable for an extended period of time.

Questions, concerns? Feel free to share them in the Discussion tab.

Let's have some fun and tell a great story together! After all, that's what we are here for.

Scratch is a backwoods redneck sniper. Enjoys his homemade explosives and wild foraged jerky of all makes and models. His exploration mode is almost always stealth as it is important for snipers.

Friendly fire is fine if it can't be reasonably avoided, Scratch does his best to avoid the melee brawl and instead blow holes in things from maximum distance.

I do need still to look up the remaster changes to gunslinger's crafting feats, but other than that should be ready to roll role.

Grand Lodge

Lost and Forgotten

We all land like drunken drivers on ice. There's something weird about landings in a sim that the engineers rarely get just right. It always feels wrong. Like you're sliding unnaturally, or you're not pointed quite straight in the direction you're traveling - which shouldn't be the case on the ground. If you succeeded in landing a 737 sim at all on your first try to begin with, you're way ahead of even most commercial pilots. Nice job!

Unsurprisingly, the 74 has a lot more momentum so she's much more stable in the crosswinds and bumps. The only downside is that you have to anticipate everything that much further n advance cause she won't slow down. Without a doubt, it was the best plane I ever flew.

It was the latter -- I was swerving like someone who had one too many to drink... on the contrary, while playing DCS (Digital Combat Simulator), you wouldn't want to fly with me on an F-18 since the jet is soooo responsive that I'd overcorrect, then overcorrect my earlier overcorrection ad infinitum...

the 737 experience -- I flew into St Marten (the one with the beach on one end)... then did the famous Kai Tak heart attack (aka the checkerboard turn).

There is a special Exploration Activity for this scenario due to the Overland travel challenge. If one or more of you wants to use this in an effort to improve your chances of getting the caravan there on time, please say so. Of course, this will also then become your character’s Exploration Activity if (when) an Encounter begins.

SHORTCUT THROUGH THE WASTES
Traits: Concentrate, Exploration, Move
While traveling overland, you use your knowledge of the area or natural terrain to navigate and find the best possible route by taking advantage of a game trail, swift water current, or other natural shortcut. Attempt a DC 22 Nature, Scouting Lore, or relevant Lore check (such as Numeria Lore). Only one PC who uses this activity can attempt the check; others can attempt to Aid (DC 15) (but if you are Aiding, then this becomes your Exploration Activity too.)

And just to be certain of who’s doing what, can I please get everyone to explicitly list their Exploration Activities here for this first segment of the journey.

Does the '4 days worth of rations' mean 4 of the caravan supply that was 40?

I have also the adventurer's pack rations for two weeks, 4 days from that is no sacrifice at all.

It is not spelled out. I think I would have to say that it must come from your party rations, since you're here scouting, and the caravan isn't right here with you. But your characters would know that you should be arriving in the town of Torch within well less than 2 weeks, that you can resupply there, and that you have to reach the Gorum Pots (which is beyond Torch) in 10 days.

Scratch also has this feat, only trained in survival though. If that would help sway any decisions. He'd rather give up rations than lay waste to the whole group.

Forager: Feat 1: General/Skill: Prerequisites trained in Survival
While using Survival to Subsist, if you roll any result worse than a success, you get a success. On a success, you can provide subsistence living for yourself and four additional creatures, and on a critical success, you can take care of twice as many creatures as on a success. Each time your proficiency rank in Survival increases, double the number of additional creatures you can take care of on a success (to eight if you’re an expert, 16 if you’re a master, or 32 if you’re legendary). You can choose to care for half the number of additional creatures and provide a comfortable living instead of subsistence living. Multiple smaller creatures or creatures with significantly smaller appetites than a human are counted as a single creature for this feat, and larger creatures or those with significantly greater appetites each count as multiple creatures. The GM determines how much a non-human creature needs to eat.

That might come up later. This challenge just asks for rations, but if the caravan gets low, or it takes you all too long, you might indeed have to Forage.

Thanks. The scenario has a chunk of adamantine on the chronicle. With the widespread use of needle darts nowadays that uncommon access is very valuable even having to wait until later levels when you can afford it. But it also hides the access behind at least one PC saying they want to "stop to shop." Which to be honest most don't because they've already bought most of what they want and are now saving up for their next rune or whatever purchase. Also, at a F2F table, it's easy to give a hint and someone pick up on it and react appropriately, but I just didn't want to spend the days of back-and-forth that might take. Also remember that if this PC can't use the chunk, you can use 4 ACP to buy a Bequeathal boon to transfer it to another PC.

So, it looks like we are far away from a bunch of snipers.

Lindevaile Tindome has Wind Wall and Darkness.

If we can be sure they can't see in dark, Darkness really ruins their day, if it is placed in a good spot.

With wind wall, we can easily force them to come close or escape, and basically reset the encounter by healing back to full inside it, if they don't snipe with javelins or larger items. Again, placement is a question, closer to them will allow us to move in safely, but they can also get around it more easily and continue shooting. Around us blocks everything but we can't move closer without losing protection.

Of course, several of both can be dropped around.

Left a spot behind the log for a sniping position that is not obstructed by the wall. Rest can stay where we are or move just beyond the log, they shouldn't be able to shoot through that wall with physical bullets.

Lindevaile Tindome can put more walls or darkness, and give haste and jump, they might all come useful. Jump to others is 3rd level and you can hop 30ft per action for 1 min.

Re: the Wall of Wind: It doesn’t hamper sight, but it also does not say it cannot be seen or that its effects cannot be discerned. I would rule that the winds at the surface or where they cross bushes, trees, surfaces of water (or very sandy or dusty areas, n/a for this encounter) have a physical effect of rustling the grasses and leaves which can be seen. They won’t know how high it rises, nor the exact full effects (baring a skill check), but they can discern that something is there moving the air.

To clarify the bushes mechanic, they are a Hazard that first activates on adjacent movement (Scratch didn't count cause he was invisible). Then going forward, they will "spit" at eligible PCs based on their actions before the Hazard's next turn. An individual bush can be deactivated (Disabled) with a 2-action Thievery or Engineering Lore check from an adjacent PC. And note that the one inside the Wall of Wind is essentially disabled. I'm ruling that it can't spit from inside the Wall

Oh, and there might be more that you haven't seen activate yet, cause there's been nothing for them to spit at. Yet.

It is (generally)! Nice catch.

Though it's sometimes used differently by different companies. At my last employer, a "Deadhead" was a crew member moving at Company direction on any flight that he was not operating. So you could be positioning on a company freighter, or riding Biz Class on Emirates, and those would be Deadheading if the Company told you to do it for their purposes.

If you were doing it for your own personal travel, and not paying for the seat, then it would be Jumpseating.

But again, some other companies use the term deadhead with different technical details, like only if it's on their own metal, or only if it's on someone else's metal, or only if the ticket is paid, etc.

That's funny because a 'dead head' here besides the name given to The Greatful Dead fans, is what we call partially floating logs in the lakes that are leftover from old log drives to lumber mills. Never have I ever flown a plane for a DnD in person game! One for the books right there.

Oh, I won't be flying the plane, I'd just be riding in the back. This time. I have done that though - flown a trip and played PFS during layovers. Did it in Netherlands and Sydney, plus several times in the US. But alas, no more, as I've retired.

Alex Speidel did an interview with the the Rule-lord and even mentioned his globe-trotting, Society-playing airline pilot :)

@Lokaloka: I can arrive MNL no earlier than Friday, May 9th. I would want to leave no later than the 19th, but likely wouldn't stay in MNL that whole time. So whenever you would normally get the group together within that window, I'll arrange to be there. I usually stay in or near Makati, but could do another area if Makati is too far from you all.

I'm in the South. Muntinlupa. There are some nice boutique hotels here. Bring some exercise gear -- if the time is right, you're invited to train with us :)
